Titanfall: Beta

I have been waiting for this game for awhile now and I had the chance to play in the Beta! Now, you may be asking “Why are you talking about a Beta? What happened to the NDA?”  Well, the creators have no issued a NDA, they want people to stream, talk about and just enjoy the game! Everyone should be able to enjoy this game. This is what I plan on doing! So here we go!

If you have not had the chance to hear about this game, then you may be in for a wonderful treat! This is the perfect mix of some pretty awesome games from Call of Duty to Halo. You are in charge of a Titanfall, a giant Mecha with awesome guns and cool powers! The Titanfall has this telekinesis power you can use to stop rockets being launched at you and what not.

When not in a Titanfall, you are a pilot with a pistol that auto-locks on your targets, yes multiple targets. With one pull of your trigger, your pistol can take down multiple enemy or just a single enemy hitting all of their vital parts.

The tutorial goes into vast details about your weapons, Titanfall and how to use everything to it’s potential. I really felt like I was being trained to go on a real life mission.

Lastly, the PvP seemed very fair, and very realistic. There were some people who seemed to be cheating but that did not ruin my game at all! It was very enjoyable. When it comes to the realistic points, if you were to come into contact with a Titanfall and it was to step on you, well you’re kind of dead.

This game was very well planned out and the people who made it showed a very obviously they wanted to make a great game!

This review is slightly vague, I know, but I want you to play this game! I want you to experience everything about this game!

I give this beta a 9/10!

Badland: Phone Game

If you have the free time to spare, you should try out Badland. It’s a very beautiful game for what it is. It’s  full of mystery and adorable creatures! The goal is to get your little guy or guys to the end of the adventure without dying. On some levels, that’s harder that it seems but other times it’s quite easy.  It was hard for me to stay alive at least but I kept getting distracted by the background and the atmosphere.

The graphics, like I have said, are just plain amazing for this being a phone game. It’s full of mystery and a lovely array of colors. The puzzles themselves, are solid black with a vibrantly colored background of fantasy scene. It’s almost like you are playing a dream.

There are not many characters in the game. You play as little tiny fluff balls with wings. You can grow or shrink depending on things you touch. The goal is to get to the end of the adventure in one, or many, pieces! To do this, you fly through the levels, avoiding obstacles and the ever close scrolling screen. If you manage to get caught or fall behind, then you lose that round but you have the option of starting where you left off so it’s not a total reset. I enjoyed that a lot!

The controls are quite simple. For those of you who are familiar with Chocobo Tales, you may remember when you have to fight that underwater dragon and you have to tap your screen to move up or down to avoid being eaten by the dragon. That’s pretty much this game except you don’t really have to tap. Just hold your finger on the screen and you go up and when you remove your finger your character goes down. So the controls may be simple but if this isn’t something you are use to. Do a few practice rounds! Never hurts to practice, even if you’re good at it!

There isn’t really a story for this game but there are some cool features that I think you guys should know if you are going to play. This game uses Physics in a really cool way. The way your character moves and how objects in the level work are very realistic and if you have even a basic understanding of Physics, you will have a lot of fun!

You can play up to 70 levels of single player. Each level different more difficult but just and beautiful as the next or you can play with up to four (4) people with Local Multiplayer.  If you dn’t know what that means…Local Muliplayer are just people who are on your network playing the same game. So if you have friends who are playing the game with you while chilling in your house or an other place, you can invite them to play with you and experience this game together!

I really liked this game, It has a good amount of replay value. It is available on the Android (free), Iphone (3.99 USD) and Blackberries (1.99 USD). This game get a 9/10 Lily Points! You really need to check it out! This comes highly recommended not only by myself, but about 80,000 other people!

Neverwinter: The D&D MMO

I enjoy Dungeons and Dragons. Its  got to be my favorite table top game of all time. Becoming one with your character, going on amazing adventures and making new friends and enemies  along the way! I tended to befriend too many people..and..creatures in the last game we fully played. Heh. But I’ll get into that later =D

Neverwinter helps bring the idea of D&D to those who don’t have an imagination. An evil witch has come to overtake the world with her army of the dead. First, this sounds like Wrath of the Lich King expansion for World of Warcraft. She kind of looks like him too. So I’m already a little like “Yay..another let’s kill the evil lich before zombies eat my brains”

The controls..Its  the standard WASD movement keys with space to jump. You have 2 attacks that are linked to your mouse,  and then you have some keyboard attacks. One attack is q  then it goes 1 and 3. You have an F attack then its potions 4-6. You’re pretty much all over the keyboard, so I’m happy that I have a g13. Whoo.

For a free to play game now, the graphic are rather nice. They’re not as advanced and other games, but they create a beautiful atmosphere and really bring the NPC’s, Creatures and landscapes alive. I would have liked to see a free ranging camera added to the game and a tab targeting system, but mousing over your target works too. I found myself missing a lot  and hitting another group of mobs a few times. Whee..that was fun.

The Customization you can do with your characters are rather nice as well. Its almost like games like the Elder Scrolls. I really enjoyed that! You you choose presets if you want to get out and kill things quickly or you can take your time and make the character the way you want.  You have 6 races and 6 classes. They are working on another class, but its not been introduced yet. For those who like to complete every race and every class, you only have 2 slots available.  You can buy more slots or you can just make another account since they’re free to make.

Questing is a lot of fun, you have a sparkly trail that guides you to your objectives and on items that you need to grab. If you don’t want to quest, you can take jobs which are player created or you have qued up for skirmishes. There really isn’t an end of what you can do as Jobs scales with your level.  Playing with others is nice too as some loot is unique to yourself while there is also a rolling system. I find the rolling kind of difficult on my Wizard because the button you use also teleports me so When I’m rolling on loot Poof! I’m gone!  It wouldn’t be so bad except for the aggro range on some mobs are kind of large.

Social aspects? There are many different “servers” in the game and when you’re in a party with people you get put on the different servers often, but thankfully you can move servers.

Leveling up can be a little slow, and when you do you can level up your spells and become powerful. You can also get new spells with your points. So that’s kind of like DnD. But these spells are already set up for you to choose what you want.

All in all this game is fun, but it has its ups and downs.  I didn’t actually feel like I was playing DnD, it felt like an actual MMO where I worked with other people to do something or I worked on my own.

I give this awesome game 7/10 Lily points. You should check it out if you enjoy DnD =3 I enjoyed playing this game a lot with my friends =D

As always, Subscirbe, Like and +1 and become part of our team!

Trine 2

An evil is awakened and only 3 people can save the world. A Knight. A Wizard. An Assassin. Three people who have worked together before to stop this evil have been called back together to save the world from the new evils that have been unleashed!

This is a 1 to 3 person platform game. You can choose between the three heros, each having a special power. The wizard can move items with his magic. Moving things can help solve puzzles or help you advance to the next level. Now, if you are not into Wizards, the Assassin would be a good second choice. She has the ability to shoot a grappling hook to lift herself up. It’s an easy way to avoid certain dangers. The knight…um…..

The graphics are beautiful! They’re colorful and cheery as well as dark and scary. The puzzles really bring the scenes to life and make them more important. A leaf can be used to move water or help you bounce to the next area. You really have to look at your surroundings and figure a way out.

Though the game is soloable, I still liked having someone play with me. We always make sure that one of us plays the Wizard and the other the Assassin. The knight is pretty much useless. His skill tree is decent but not really anything useful. He has a shield and a hammer. That’s about all he brings to the story. But if you have a 3rd person that wants to play and enjoys being a useless meatshield, then here’s the class for them =D

There is a lack of customization minus the spell tree that each character has the gives them specific talents that can be used in battle or in a puzzle. The trees are easy to understand and use that there’s not a lot of guessing as to what to take and when. You can build a very strong versatile character and be just total kick ass .

I really liked the music, it fit with the scenes well. They added emotion as well as excitement to each level, boss fight and puzzle. The sounds from your weapons, water and surrounds were also very realistic. Some sounds you can tell when they were made on a computer, but these sounded like they went out and swung a sword, dripped water and dropped metal boxes.

I found the controls a little hard to get in the beginning and some of the areas were difficult to maneuver. Sometimes you over jumped, got stuck in silly places or were plain unresponsive. Once you get use the the controls though,  the gameplay was quick and smooth.

There’s not a lot more to the game. The quest objectives are straight forward and fairly easy to obtain, and there is some moving away from the general platforming that is in the game. There are secret areas hidden in every level that can take some figuring out to do, but don’t give up. They’re normally very helpful rewards

If you are interested in seeing or playing this game for yourself, it is available on steam for $19.99.  http://store.steampowered.com/app/35720/

I give this game 8/10 Lily points. It’s good for a playthough every one in awhile but to replay it right away isn’t going to bring out a lot of new content or fun =3 Still though, it’s more fun with others!

Super Monday Night Combat

I can’t begin to think of where I want to start with this game. It’s just that awesome! I think I will begin with what the game is, that’s a good start.

Super Monday Night Combat or Super MNC for short is a third person Shooter meets Dungeon Defenders. You can pick from a few players if you just start the game, and you have the option to purchase new characters, upgrades outfits ect with real money or money you gather and earn as you play. Your goal is to protect your money ball from insane robots that will jump at the opportunity to destroy you.

You get to build turrets as well as shoot the robots. I prefer the assassin they have which is an up close and personal fighter, which can be a bit problematic at times due to the fact some of the robots hurt..really really bad.

The game play is quite simple, and it didn’t take me too long to get the controls down and be a super awesome killer. I didn’t have any lag at all with the settings on high. Another thing I should mention is that it is an Unreal engine game. So you know it has to be awesome =D

There are several different types of characters you can pick when you first start. You have a general gunner, a touch tank type gunner, an up close and personal fighter and you also have a healer. Each character has a few different weapons you can choose from as well as some different moves and character specific talents you can choose from. For example, The Assassin has knife for close comabt and a Shuriken Shooter for ranged fighting. For specialites, she has a super jump, a cloaking device, and a smoke cloud. You also get a pretty awesome finishing move if you get the right timing.

As the levels go on in the game, it gets progressively harder and harder to keep the ball up in the air and away from robots. We played the game with just 3 people and when we got to the giant chicken round, we didn’t fair too well as there were too many robots for our turrets to handle, and we were all up on a different platform trying to kill the chicken. However, you can invite up to 9 people to play with you or against you, depending on your style. We felt like if we had more people we could have done ok. But all in all it was fun and a good laugh.

The graphics were pretty cool for how simple the game is. The effects for the weapons, when you summon or repair a turret as well as the robots were pretty awesome. I really liked them because they were simple but still pretty awesome. When you lose, your ball explodes into so many coins and a weird guy dances on top of it, taunting you. Haha…Yeah the guy kind of gave me nightmares but anyways!

The music is pretty cool too, it’s upbeat and really keeps you in the mood to want to play more. I did have to turn it down a little though because I found that it overpowdered EVERYTHING. I had a hard time hearing my Skype call as well as when a character calling for help.

Over all, it was a super fun game and something we will play when we have some time to spare. It has a decent replay value as you can unlock things by just playing the game and earning coins. And another awesome note about the game: TOTALLY FREE!!!!!!!! All you need is a steam account =D How freaking cool!!!!

Overall, I give the game 8/10 Lily Points. The game is as pretty as it is difficult and the fact that you can play to unlock is a really cool feature =D If you want to check it out, here’s the link (http://store.steampowered.com/app/104700/)

Dementium: The Ward

**** There is a spoiler in this review, If you don’t wish to have the game spoiled for you, please skip the Story section. I marked it for you guys so you can skip it! ****

You wake up, in a dark place with nothing, No music. No anything. Your first instinct is to find out what the hell is going on right? As soon as you leave the room, you notice you have terrible night vision so you pull out your flashlight so you can see further. But wait…what’s that sound?

HOLY CRAP!

This has to be one of the scariest games I have played. They did an amazing job on the design, enemy creature creation as well as the story. And to add more as to how awesome this game was to me: It’s on the DS.

You wake up in a room all by yourself with little to your name. You have a flashlight and a pistol, your goal is to find..someones daughter? Yeah, not the best goal in a game but you go with the flow.

The graphics are, to me, what made the game scary. They were perfect and as 3D as you could get. Each mob was covered in blood or scales or something spooky that you couldn’t see until they were in your light. Did I mention the light flickers sometimes?

The game play I found to be difficult at times. Not only do you aim with your stylus, the game is also realistic. You have no armor all you are wearing, I’m assuming based on the story, is a hospital gown, so you take a lot of damage that does not regenerate over time unless you find pills. Ammo is a but scarce too depending on the difficulty you are playing. Lucky for you you have the option of picking up some melee weapons to use when you run out of bullets.

Mobs and chatacter. The mobs are scary to me. They come out of nowhere. With your limited vision, even with the flash light, they can sneak up on you, out of nowhere. You’ll be walking down a hall and suddenly you’ll hear the moaning of a zombie or the weird chirping of the weird worm things. Bosses are huge, ugly and tough if you don’t know what they can do.

You don’t know a lot about who you are playing until you play the story. For all you know when you start, you could be a psychotic patient that has gone completely insane over time and you’re in hell.

**SPOILER** The story. With every scary game comes a scary story? Sure. Why not. It turns out that you are a brain surgery patient. Your awesome surgeon thinks your mind is in danger so he puts you in a nightmare where you have to fight for your life, and end the dreams. Through out the dream, there are mentions of a man who, like i said, killed his wife and his daughter. The..hell? Anyways as you finish the game it ends with a man standing over a dead woman with a gun, Police shoot and wound the man and that’s it. The end?

In 2009 however, they released a sequel to the game, Dementium II. If you liked the first game, get it.

I give this game a 8/10 spooky Lily points. If you like getting spooked, ambushed and exploring a creepy hospital get it. I enjoyed it very much, even when I jumped in my college’s hallways =D

Battlefield 4: Final review

With the release of the new Battlefield game, there has been a lot going on. I have done a review about the beta, but now it’s time for the real game!

First off, if you have played the beta and have yet to play the real game, just a heads up what you earned from the beta will not be there. I know there are a few games that allow you to do that, but this is not one of them. I hope you guys are that upset over that.

A few things have changed since the beta, One big thing, is the new maps. They are all different from one another, but they’re pretty much the same size. There are 9 maps all together including the one from beta. My favorite map would actually be that map. The Siege of Shanghai almost makes you feel like you’re accomplishing something. Add to that the fact you can topple giant buildings? Yes please =D

The Multi-player aspect of this game is a very mixed audience. Like with most games, you have the very skilled players then you have the players who don’t know what they’re doing and pretty much all they are is a hindrance to your team. Then you also have the Hackers. Those you want on your team so you always win by sneaky means. All of those people are in the game.

Battlefield 4’s server also have a slight problem. I noticed that when you topple a building on the Map: Siege of Shanghai, the server/game tends to crash for about half of the population. The idea of scouring a forum for servers is a very nice addition but sometimes they just don’t plain work. You have the risk of general server lag as well as the risk of crashing due to a bad host.

The guns seems to be having some trouble as well. I’ve seen many guns that have low accuracy that use to be awesome in the beta, and the fact it seems to be a bit more difficult to get the better weapons, is a slight turn off to the game in my opinion. But this isn’t going to make me stop playing.

There are still a few bugs and what not that can hinder your game play. Missiles exploding before they leave the gun. Parachutes not deploying…and the “laggers” who can take a whole clip but use one shot to kill you (haha that’s not a bug but it’s still dumb!) Hopefully, a patch will be released to fix everything, one could hope at least. The bugs don’t happen all the time but when they do they can be super frustrating.

Battlefield 4 get my rating of 8/10 Lily points. The game all together is very fun. If you are into the military simulation games, shooters or just looking for a way to relax and have fun, you should pick up this game.

Please subscribe and like my Facebook page for updates on reviews and my streaming, I try to stream whenever I play a game! Thank you for reading!

Battlefield 4 Open Beta

The next exciting installment of Battlefield has entered the Open Beta phase, so if you haven’t had a chance to play it then what in the WORLD are you waiting for?!

Now, FPS are one of my favorite games. They’re not the most easy or simple but I enjoy that feeling of scoping a random person right in the head.

I enjoyed the beta from what I played minus the little cheaters I encountered which made the game a little irritating at times.  As with many games, those always seem to be what ruins it for me. But I still liked the game regardless.

The controls for the PC were really easy to get for a rusty player. I liked how you could pretty much do anything you wanted. Jump over a barricade, swim in the water PILOT a HELICOPTER. All very exciting things!!!

I like the realism of Battlefield. I always have.  The guns are very realistic, as the bullets lose momentum and arch after they are fired.  For the most part, deaths were realistic too. I don’t agree with if you fall from about a 4 foot drop you die. That isn’t realistic at all, and frankly I find that dumb. Even if you have some health gone that shouldn’t kill you.

Dog-tag customization was a very interesting thing to me, as I never really experienced the military games. I liked how you could pick any country flag, and your other dog-tag you earned through achievements, kills and what you destroy.

With this being a beta, there are still some bugs and glitches. But this will be a game that I pick up when it comes out!
If you haven’t had a chance to play it yet, nothing is stopping you. You should give it a try, who knows, you may like it =D

I give the beta 6/10 Lily points! I can’t wait to play the full game!

Skywind

I’m a big Elder Scrolls fan, I’ve been one since they released their first game. One of my favorite games in the Elder Scroll Series was Morrowind. The one where you are Almalexia and you save the world from the false gods and a vampire hiding in a volcano and all of that fancy hero stuff.

For it’s time, it was a beautiful game. The graphics were “realistic” enough for me to get sucked into the game. In my opinion, it was the best game of it’s time, and nothing could compare.

That was..until Skyrim was released. This was the most beautiful game in the  Elder Scroll series. The map was pretty as well. But, this isn’t about Skyrim. It’s not even about Morrowind. Nope. This is about Skywind.

For those of you who haven’t heard of this, I’m kind of surprised. Skywind is a beautiful mix of Skyrim and Morrowind. They recreated Vvanderfell with the Skyrim engine.

With the big graphics update, and the addition of the quest line, Morrowind was reborn.  Skywind is still in a beta phase, so there are a few bugs.

If you’re interested in checking it out, there are a few things you should know about Skywind.

There are no voices, tho I don’t think this is a big since there really weren’t any voices in Morrowind. The text is from Skyrim so it’s nice and neat but it’s still a little tiresome to read the paragraphs they have,

The NPC’s..are well naked. It was a little awkward talking to quest givers while they’re chilling in the nude.  Now if you’re all for naked characters then you’re in heaven!

If you don’t think any of those will bother you, then you should really check it out. I find this to be a fun addon and can’t wait for it to complete! I’ll be playing this until the ESO is released then I’ll be playing that!!

I give Skywind a 7/10 Lily points. Though it’s beautiful and still in beta there are a few bugs that have made it a little difficult to play and I’ve had to reload an older save to fix it.
