Ugly Dolls and the Imperfect Adventure

When I started to see commercials for this game, I knew that I had to play it. If you know me, then you know I enjoy random games like this. I think things like the characters in this game are adorable AF. I will also let you know before I get into this review, is I cannot wait for the cartoon!

So when the game starts the narrator goes over the story. It’s kind of interesting. they go to explain how there’s basically two city type areas next to each other. One was their town, Uglyville. Next to them, and was separated is Perfection. Well somehow, a robot got in and discovered how much chaos Uglyville had. So naturally, he called his friends to help clean up the area.

Your goal, is to find a way to send the robots back. At first, you’re able to do everything just fine. As you go around the town you collect materials and buttons from around town. You can use the buttons to summon friends for quests, or to purchase upgrades or other items from people in town. The materials are used to build things you need to complete your quests nd uch.

Questing is where I’m torn on. I loved how unique everything is, how you kind of have to explore or use the scouting item to find your objectives…but then after that it gets tedious. Most of the quests include you farming for items or crafting many different things that you need to collect from other things in order to finish. Now, I’m all for farming things. But when I have to literally spend hours trying to get the materials I need to make a bag to get a Wifi password it gets daunting.

Besides the mass farming I have to do to progress, I really enjoyed this game. Would i go back and play it again? Probably. Honestly, it’s not bad, but it wasn’t Cat Quests, or even BFA. It was a great game, and as always I encourage you to try it ut for yourself.

In truth, this game gets a 6/10. I really liked it, but the collecting of items became tiresome and I just couldn’t sit down and do a play through of the game. I don’t mind because I felt like I got my money’s worth out of it, so it wasn’t all bad 🙂

Sushi Striker: Way of Shushido DS

So this review is for the DS version of the game. I haven’t had a chance yet to play it on the Switch so I can’t really comment on it. I’m going to assume the story line is the same. But, let’s get this review started with this delicious review!!!

The story behind this game is a very unique one, a story that I could totally get behind! So, long story short, your parents went off to fight a war to make sushi available. While trying to find food, you come across a Sushi Striker of sorts who helps you enjoy the taste of the raw fish delicacy before introducing you to a Sushi Spite that helps make sushi! Suddenly you are ambushed by the Empire ( Dun dun dun) where you fight them off and learn the basics of what it means to be a sushi striker. Eventually you get your own sprite and you go off on your own to win back the right for Sushi for everyone!

It’s a healthy mix of Pokemon, Digimon and Candy Crush….something I never thought I would say in the same sentence. Like really. I honestly don’t like the game Candy Crush, but I fell in love with this game. You have to put several of the same color sushi plates together in order to empty your plate WHICH YOU THEN throw at your foe, dealing more damage the more plates you have. Each sprite has their own strengths that you can use and special skills to help you out, or really mess up your foe. I will admit, I found the healing one to be a little weak end game, but the same color attack made it easy to score a HUGE pile of plates to just chuck at my foe. Poor guy probably doesn’t even know what hit him. I mean a small child throwing plates?  Eh it happens.

It’s a quick pace puzzle type game that really strives on the excitement of the matching and throwing rather then the story. I’ll be honest, it a typical be the hero of the country and save the world from the evil government and let’s eat sushi!

This game, thought similar to games I don’t really like, honestly get’s a 9/10 from me.  I had a hard ass time putting it down when I got it and I still do now. If it wasn’t for WoW: BFA I would probably be sleeping with my 3DS for awhile before I finish the game!! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for fast, puzzles and just some cute animals!!!

Dragon Coins

Dragon Coins is a great way to kill time. I am a huge fan of the coin dozer games so when you mix it up with some fancy monsters what could go wrong? Besides the slightly addicting side.

I had came across this game while i was at training. I do want to add this is why I have not been posting often.  With training over now i will be back in the game!  I find this game to be a wonderful way to kill time when there’s nothing else to do and you leave your 3DS in your hotel room.

The game play is simple. Your goal is to defeat the rounds by dropping coins into a platform. You have unlimited. Coins but you do have an amount of turns before the opposing monsters fight. Like most games your goal is to become powerful and collect monsters to evolve and fuse.

It’s all touch based, so all you have to do is place the coin on the dozer and knock coins off into your monsters at the bottom of the screen. Each monster has a specific amount of coins needed in order for them to attack. There are also blocks that you can get that gives your monster enough power to use their special ability. The special abilities range from speeding up the dozer to 2X the attack. Throughout the mission, you have chances to get monsters, through gems.  At the end of each round there is a boss fight the boss drops more coins and a possibility of a rare monster.

The graphics are simple and adorable. For a mobile game they’re crisp and clear, but it might be because I have the HD screen, but I was fairly impressed with them. There’s not a lot to them really.

I enjoyed the time I’ve spent playing this game, and have never felt the need to spend money on this game to get extra features. I give this game a 9/10! Give it a try if you have the free time, I can tell you, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Anna

Before I begin the review, I would like to apologize for posting late for not only my review but for my video. I have been very busy with the holidays coming up and I ran out of time and that’s why I’m sitting here now typing a review. Heh. So let’s begin shall we?

If you are looking for a game that really tests your mind, this is the perfect game. Anna is definitely a different type of game. It begins with you in a fenced in yard with a building that is obviously abandoned.  There is a puzzle to do about everything in this game. So it really makes you think. I got stuck a few times. They’re not very obivious puzzles like most games. You have to actually explore to get things done and you always have to check the what you least expect to be helpful to you.

The graphics are quite beautiful. The detail they put into everything really amazed me. When you interact with something, the effect it has or causes were very realistic. I felt like I was actually in the game playing. Literally everything do you causes something to happen in the game. Even a simple step causes grass to bend, ripped in the water, dust to stir. It’s very awesome!

The controls were very easy. I was use to them early on in the game and nothing was out of the ordinary. I did find that sometimes it was a little hard to move items in the game and target them but once I figured out where I needed to have my cursor, it was a piece of cake!! Hmm…Cake.

There were a few times where the game caught me off guard. You can be minding your own business and trying to solve a puzzle then your screen will flicker and a weird figure appears then it vanishes, like nothing ever happened. Sometimes you may hear a weird noise like something falling but when you turn around, nothing happened at all. Are you going insane? Who knows. But I do know that I jumped out of my chair a good amount of times with the “scary” things they threw at you. I won’t go into much detail because that will ruin the game. But just be prepared to get scared!!

The puzzles, like I said before, can be a little difficult. A good example is, to get into the Sawmill, you need to solve a puzzle on the door. The pieces are hidden somewhere in the yard that requires another puzzle to open. You also have to find items that you can use to move other items so you have access to new areas or create new items. It’s really a hit and miss sometimes. But if you don’t do a puzzles you might not have access to other parts of the game or even get items you’ll need later. It’s  a very detail oriented game. So look under everything you can!! You don’t want to miss out on the spooky scary stuff that awaits you!!!!

You control what happens. That’s right. You can decide what happens by how you act in situations. If you don’t do something, it may change the outcome. If you don’t explore an area or even read a book, that can change what happens. There are 8 different endings that can happen, and you decide what one.

This game, is available on Steam for $9.99 USD. If you are wanting a game that messes with your mind and makes you think, you need to check this out. I really enjoyed the game! And it even gave me some weird dreams afterwords too!!! I give this awesome game 8/10 Lily points!!!

Plants vs Zombies 2

Plants vs Zombies 2 has finally been released! About time, am I right? I downloaded the game on my phone for free and gave it a whirl while my car was getting worked on, and I kind of liked the game.

It’s almost like the older game but with new, fancy plants and dressed up zombies. I was super impressed with this little mobile game! My only real complaint with this game is that is really overheated my phone and sometimes it didn’t respond well to my commands. I’d end up digging up the wrong plant of not using the plant food when I really needed it, thus losing the level.

The game is visually appealing and the sounds and music go with each stage rather well.  For being played on a tiny screen, I wouldn’t mind staring at this game for long periods of time. It didn’t hurt my eyes at all. The voices they added for the zombies were nice too. Very soft speaking zombies that aren’t yelling. I really enjoyed that. Not a huge fan of the loud screaming Zombies. I did find the Neighbor and His Car to be rather annoying. They popped up in dumb times and the “voices” they had made me end up muting my phone. I’m all for the “rabbl rabbl” of the human but they made the car beep in high pitched tones and so often that I couldn’t stand it.

I found that in some of the levels, I had a difficult time trying to get my defense up before 2 hordes of Zombies were headed my way. It was pretty intense and left my flustered at the end. This game, is a little more harder than the first game. But not so much that it’s near impossible to beat. I just had some problems with a few of the levels that just liked to throw what it could at you. But, if it wasn’t for certain plants, I would have probably just spent some money and make my army.

It’s just really nice of Popcap to release a free game, and have it be free and mean it. When I say that the game is free, it’s free if you own an Android phone, sadly, if you own an iPhone, you will have to pay 99 cents for the game , bummer… There are a few games out there that say the game is free but when you need something that can save you or help you progress to the next level you have to pay so much money for a single item that isn’t real. How lame is that?  I like that they gave you an option to buy everything now or just play and unlock it. So. if you don’t like playing the game all the way through, you have the option of buying, with REAL money, all of the plants you can unlock during the story game play. You can also purchase buffs like, Plant food, as well. they did a nice job with that! So Kudos!

With all said and done, it’s a well put together game that I do enjoy playing. It’s a great time killer and a way to distract yourself. I now prefer the game to be played muted, but if the constant sound of a car horn is one of your favorite sounds then TURN IT UP! =D  I do recommended this game though =D  It gets a 7/10 Lily points =3 Check it out! As always though, please subscurbe for updates. I do post a review every money. I also post a new video on my Youtube every Friday and I stream games every saturday! Trine 2

An evil is awakened and only 3 people can save the world. A Knight. A Wizard. An Assassin. Three people who have worked together before to stop this evil have been called back together to save the world from the new evils that have been unleashed!

This is a 1 to 3 person platform game. You can choose between the three heros, each having a special power. The wizard can move items with his magic. Moving things can help solve puzzles or help you advance to the next level. Now, if you are not into Wizards, the Assassin would be a good second choice. She has the ability to shoot a grappling hook to lift herself up. It’s an easy way to avoid certain dangers. The knight…um…..

The graphics are beautiful! They’re colorful and cheery as well as dark and scary. The puzzles really bring the scenes to life and make them more important. A leaf can be used to move water or help you bounce to the next area. You really have to look at your surroundings and figure a way out.

Though the game is soloable, I still liked having someone play with me. We always make sure that one of us plays the Wizard and the other the Assassin. The knight is pretty much useless. His skill tree is decent but not really anything useful. He has a shield and a hammer. That’s about all he brings to the story. But if you have a 3rd person that wants to play and enjoys being a useless meatshield, then here’s the class for them =D

There is a lack of customization minus the spell tree that each character has the gives them specific talents that can be used in battle or in a puzzle. The trees are easy to understand and use that there’s not a lot of guessing as to what to take and when. You can build a very strong versatile character and be just total kick ass .

I really liked the music, it fit with the scenes well. They added emotion as well as excitement to each level, boss fight and puzzle. The sounds from your weapons, water and surrounds were also very realistic. Some sounds you can tell when they were made on a computer, but these sounded like they went out and swung a sword, dripped water and dropped metal boxes.

I found the controls a little hard to get in the beginning and some of the areas were difficult to maneuver. Sometimes you over jumped, got stuck in silly places or were plain unresponsive. Once you get use the the controls though,  the gameplay was quick and smooth.

There’s not a lot more to the game. The quest objectives are straight forward and fairly easy to obtain, and there is some moving away from the general platforming that is in the game. There are secret areas hidden in every level that can take some figuring out to do, but don’t give up. They’re normally very helpful rewards

If you are interested in seeing or playing this game for yourself, it is available on steam for $19.99.  http://store.steampowered.com/app/35720/

I give this game 8/10 Lily points. It’s good for a playthough every one in awhile but to replay it right away isn’t going to bring out a lot of new content or fun =3 Still though, it’s more fun with others!

Monster Match: Mobile Game

This nifty little puzzle (also it’s FREE) is great if you have done time to kill but it also has some incentive to pay daily. This is a typical elemental game where each monster you have represents a certain element. You have monsters who are weak against one but very setting against another. Each monster also has a special move they can do when toy get enough gems I’d their color.some odd them change gems to their color whine others do a massive amount of damage.

Depending on how you play the game can be really fun or just pain annoying. Sometimes you get dealt a terrible hand while other times you Miss gems

A typical puzzle has several waves followed by a boss stage. During the rounds your goal its to get as many gems as possible with out dying. Each waves has a chance for you to catch a monster that you can use to evolve your team, boost them our even replace them.

If you are one to play a game for days in a row you will be happy to hear that you get two type of rewards. One its daily and of you miss a say our resets.the other one is a reward that builds up and if you miss a say it stops where you left off.

There isn’t much more to this game other than they have events monthly where you can catch super rare monsters that can be used to boost your monsters.

I give the game 6/10 Lily points =D I was hooked the game, but then I had to go to work so I haven’t had much time to play =D But I do still play whenever I h ave free time!
