Last Epoch

As a long time follower of the Diablo series, I found myself pleasantly surprised by Last Epoch. From the moment I delved into its world, I was greeted by an experience that seamlessly blended familiarity with innovation. The gameplay is not only enjoyable but also remarkably easy to grasp, making it a breeze to immerse oneself in the adventure. One of the standout features of Last Epoch is its engaging monoliths, each offering a distinct and captivating challenge.

Whether I was soloing or teaming up with friends, the experience remained consistently entertaining, perfect for those moments when I wanted to unwind and listen to a podcast while grinding away. However, no game is without its flaws, and Last Epoch is no exception. One aspect that left me wanting more was the lack of free respecs, which can be a deterrent for players eager to experiment with different builds without facing hefty penalties.

Additionally, while the concept of set gear holds promise, its current implementation falls short of expectations, failing to deliver the depth and excitement that such gear should bring to the table. The restriction on trading items across different maps can feel limiting and frustrating, hindering the potential for player interaction and commerce.

Despite these setbacks, Last Epoch earns a solid 8/10 rating from me. Its enjoyable gameplay, coupled with the unique challenges offered by the monoliths, make it a standout title in the action RPG genre. With some refinement, particularly in addressing the issues with respecs, set gear, and trading, Last Epoch has the potential to elevate itself even further and secure its place as a must-play for fans of the genre.

Destroy All Humans

There was something about this game that I just love. I’m not sure if it’s the silly humor from the 50s or Crypto’s phrases. When I think of aliens, this is where I go to. Named after disease and anal probes just make this game one of my favorites. I know this is a little behind but I’m playing catch up. Don’t worry I’ll have a post about it soon 🙂 But for now, here we gooo!

This game is exactly how I remember it when it first came out. The graphics are nostalgic and how I remember them. I will admit, the cutscenes really made it for me. The details in their faces really make the game memorable. The voices in the game add is almost word for word from the original as well…both the silly and the awful jokes. Really though, I am a huge fan of the silly dumb jokes and I don’t care what others think. It really adds to the game if you ask me even if it’s just a small chuckle or an eye roll.

The thought of being a destructive protagonist isn’t lost on me. You are able to pretty much have your way with the areas as long as you are prepared for what happens next. Sure, the maps may not be as open as one would hope but the amount of damage and torment you can cause but I think the vast arsenal you have makes up for it. You can replay the levels and try out new skills, weapons or even game styles. Some maps even allow you into your ship to cause havoc. Remember, you’re cool if you don’t look at the explosions, but I will still think you’re cool if you do.

When you start off, you start learn new skills as you progress. It’s not all Ray guns, anal probes and throwing people, cows…cars…the usual for an alien arsenal. With each new skill, you have a quick tutorial before you are sent off to the world to collect brains and intel for your domination of the world!! Not everything in this game is about going out and just attacking. There are also stealthy approaches you can take as well to make missions a little easier or to progress through the mission.

I will say though, for the most part the quests are similar to the original release. Because of that, I found some of the areas easier than others. I did notice a new quest where you are to destroy something the Air Force is working on and it caused me a little headache. Not having prior gameplay knowledge really made it a challenge to me and I rather liked it! Each area has it’s own main story line quests, but don’t forget to check your side quests!! Each zone has several for you to finish like “Exploding heads with your skills and take 8 brains” and other stuff along those line! They are all easily doable when doing the main quests too.

Honestly, there’s something about a Jack Nicholson type alien who’s goal is so explode heads, collect brains and throw cows (and other things if you wanna play the game that way hehe) Sure some of the quests are repeats with new skins but I feel like the game did it’s job making a remake without redoing everything completely. I wish some remakes took this root but I understand the way they go.

I did make this game a GOTY for 2020.

DOOM Eternal

There hasn’t been a DOOM that I haven’t liked. The mix of ambient metal music the the straight carnage there is something for every FPS gamer in the game known as DOOM Eternal. Unicorn Costume not included but it made the game better. JS.

Doom has been a staple in my gaming world for a long time. Though I wasn’t able to enjoy Doom 64 when it launched, I was able to savor the flavors of the game and appreciate it more now I think then I would have back then. Doom Eternal is just another entrĂ©e for us to enjoy.

This game, is hard. Though I have always been a fan of games that offer me some short of challenge…DOOM Eternal most defiantly gave me a good run for my money. There are a lot of power ups, and such around and with the fancy kills to replenish your health, ammo ect it was very hard for me to get frustrated with this game. There are plenty of new enemies and return of some old favorites.

Not a lot, like I said before, upset me with this game. I will admit though, there were some mobs in the game that I dreaded to face. The Marauder comes to mind….*eye twitch* I..I can’t even talk about it with out feeling the anger and screaming when I say it’s name. Marauder. Going with the aspect of the game being difficult there are a lot of puzzles and platforming in this game. If you know me, you know platforms aren’t my thing. So right off the bat I wasn’t a big fan but I didn’t let that ruin my game experience. After all, I was a Unicorn Doom guy. A UNICORN!!!!

Exploration has been a good thing in this game. It isn’t as closed as some of the other games have been. Sure you have your path to follow but there’s so much to explore. You even have a home base area where you can upgrade your things and even explore it. Exploration leads to codex that lead to lore. I must admit, the amount of lore you can find is amazing, and it’s so well put together it’s easy to follow and understand the events of Eternal much better. If I don’t stop talking about this it won’t ever stop. After all, I am a Loremaster hehe I love things like this.

The story is pleasantly long. I want to say maybe I spent close to 11 hours on my first play though but the open story makes it more fun to replay and explore areas you might have missed. If it’s one thing I love it’s ability to be replayed and have a new experience. I do like to take my time with the game because I want to savor everything it has to offer. With that being said, that 11 hours wasn’t me rushing, but I wasn’t exploring every nook and cranny. My second play through was a bit longer as I took the time ti find all of the Codex, all of the new areas and just see where I could and couldn’t go.

When it comes to shooters and just plain hack n slashers, I will always recommend DOOM to anyone, and this one is no exception. All in all, This game get’s a solid 7/10 from me as well as a GOTY award. I don’t have any links if you want to play the game. It’s out there on every current generation system except the Switch (that got canceled sadly 🙁 )

Nioh 2

I am a huge fan of the Darksouls series. From the lore to the game play, you can probably call me a glutton for punishment. This game, is literally no exception. I don’t know how many times I died, but I can assure you it was a lot. A lot of screaming, groaning and just plain anger. However, with the beauty of the game mixed with the game play and combat style, this is easily one of my GOTY choices for this year.

I would like to give this game props and I feel like we were heard when it came to this game. Being a prequel of sorts, this is worth the pain you get from playing it. We went from a set character from the west to one that you can make yourself but is silent. Think Jade Empire interactions with people. You have no voice, but you’re heard by all who speak. Though the landscape is beautiful, there are always some greener grass on the other side. There are some real life historical figures in this game as well.

Every new area offers a lot to you. From beautiful scenery all the way to the combat. Everything about this game has a purpose. There is a lot to do in this game and I can see how it can overwhelm some people. There are so many items in the game it can possibly take you a bit of time to sort everything and do your basic inventory management (If you’ve seen me play WoW, you know I struggle hard with this) There are also a lot of customization options you have. Like I said before, you are able to create your character. The amount of thought it takes to make your guy is intense. So many options. So little time.

Combat is one of the most important things in this game, it’s almost centered around it. Normally, I’d have something to say about this but frankly, combat is very impressive. Not only do you have new pieces of gear that help increase your damage, you have a lore more yokai skills you can use now, including a realm just for them. There is also a chance for items to drop that let you use enemy skills against them when brought to the right places.

You have a few different things you can do in combat. You have Soul Core moves, which I talked about above. These are very powerful attacks but they can leave you open to counter attacks and other damage. You also have Burst Counters which is a bit more exciting to me. These are just fancy parries but you can stun your foes with ease while dealing a great amount of stamina loss to your foes preventing them from using strong moves against you. Both can take some getting used to but I tell you what…when you learn this shit you’re golden.

I mentioned Darksouls earlier….well this game is just like it difficulty wise if you ask me. The one thing I will always give props to Team Ninja is their attention to difficulty and they do what they can to balance it even if it means there’s a secret to certain things in their games. You have an option, in most cases, to avoid combat. In fact, I don’t remember coming across anything in “the wild” as I did with the story, I feel like I can stay on a road and not get attacked.

There are a lot of things you can skip. Side missions is a big thing, but like with more challenges, they are rewarding. Though you can expect to be challenged, you don’t every have to really do them. You can just stick to the main storyline and you won’t really miss out on much except some currency and maybe some loot. I applaud this company.

All in all, this game is great and it is something I suggest you play. Obviously if you are easily frustrated with hard combat you may want to hold off or watching a gameplay video for it. Though challenging, this game is as beautiful as it is creative. The reimagination of Japan and the history of the country is a great little insight to the realm of Nioh.

Nioh 2 get’s a solid 9/10 from me. Play it! Nuff said!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX

I have always had a love hate relationship with Mystery Dungeon. I have always found that if its not a cannon Pokemon then it wasn’t a real game. I was stupid back then. But that was then me, the new me is really open to this game!

So, lets get started with how the game starts. You are asked to take a personality test to see what Pokemon is best suited for you. If you don’t like result you can totally switch it up. I’m guilty. I didn’t feel like I would make a good Totodile… If you know me then you know I picked Eevee. I am so ashamed lol. I also chose Cubone as my partner and I don’t regret that at all.

The art style is something different. I wasn’t entirely sure how I was going to like the water color paper craft type graphics that honestly made the game for me. It’s really hrd to describe. I normally don’t like shading like that and prefer games that are semi recitalist ya know? But i feel like it helped keeping me emerged in the game and was able to focus longer on what I was doing and I kind of felt like I was a Pokemon. It’s weird and I can’t really describe how it made me feel but I really liked it.

The story line seems to be similar to the other games I have played. You’re a human now turned Pokemon and you and your partner have sworn to save any Pokemon in need by dungeon crawling and rescuing Pokemon. In the end though, what do you decide? Stay a Pokemon or go back to your human self?

The combat it pretty straightforward. It’s a semi turn based combat system with roaming enemies and just hitting the A button and have it alternate between the enemy Pokemon, you and your partner. There are several moves you can learn as well as some HM and TMs you can purchase with Pokedollars and build you up to be a bad ass.

Truthfully, I’m down for the dungeons changing. It reminds me of Diablo 3. You hve a set layout but it varies greatly depending on what you’re running. So you can keep running the one map, but it will always be different and worth it, You never know what you’re going to find or who you’re going to come across. Will the quest be on the first level? Last level? Who knows until you do it!

All in all, I have lost several hours to this game and I loved every minute I played of it. I have been able to sell it to several friends who were on the edge and I’m glad that I was able to share that experience with them. This is definitely a game that I recommend to play, if you’re on the fence. There should be a demo (as of the time of this pot) of it on the Nintendo Eshop. So give it a go!

This game totally get’s a 9/10 from me! I loved the game and it was almost perfect for me. I love the art, the gameplay and the story. It’s super cute and I totally think you all should check it out!

Pokemon Let’s go

So hi guys! I am not dead haha. The curse of being a retail worker has caught up with me and with Black Friday this week I have been forced to focus on my job than playing games. I know I know. It sucks but that’s what happens when you make money haha. But that’s ok. I’m going to start off by saying, I have had a lot of requests for Fallout 76. It’s going to be a bit before I get the game. I’m having flashbacks from ESO with this game…I’m sorry. I do plan on purchasing BO4 here shortly, but enough of that. Let’s get into this review.

For those of you who know me, then you’re aware of how much of a Pokemon fan I am. I remember pulling out my TCG and trading them on the playground, or fighting my friends and kicking their butt. I remember getting my first card. It was Ponyta. I got it because my friend knew I like horses, and he had an extra one he could give me. Ever since then, I have loved the series. Something about it, the fact I could do about anything in the game, whether it was to be a trainer, or a breeder. You could learn about all the different Pokemon and felt like YOU were actually changing the world. It was a lot of things that made this game and series special for me.

I have been waiting for this game for awhile, and when I finally got my hands on it, I was elated. Why do you ask? Because the new ideas the game had, and the way it makes the game feel to old veteran players, just spoke it me. It spoke the words of love. As I’m sitting here writing this review, I can’t stop but think I could be playing the game instead of typing on my laptop telling you guys how I feel about this game. But at the same time, I could also be playing the game now and typing one handed. You don’t know what I’m doing. You don’t know me!

Haha all joking aside, let’s get into this review. The story line, is basically the same from the first games, and the remakes.  Stop Team Rocket while you defeat your rival and Blue even shows up to make you feel like you’re doing things. I really like the old school feeling as well as the feel of some of the newer games. Not only do I get to relive my childhood in 3d, I get one of my favorite Pokemon to follow me through my journey.  I rather enjoy the little tidbits or lore, and other story ideas that are added to the game as well. Reading the different dialog from the different people are fantastic.

So what makes the dialog so neat? They refer to the other games, and the other regions.  For example, I came across a trainer that was from the Alolan area, and she talked about how she missed the beauty that was there, but the water on this place is almost as pretty.  The nods to previous games, and to the current ones make it worth talking to everyone.  But, besides talking to people to see what they have to say, some of the special moves from TMs and HMs are only obtainable when you talk to them. So, the idea of having to speak to everyone excites me. I do it anyways, but now I feel like it’s worth it.

Battling in this game is different from the other games. Let’s start with Trainer/Gym/other people. The battle system is the same as it has been. You have the same 4 moves, and there’s some fancy animations for each move. They did add some elite trainers you can fight as well as some Coach Trainers that teach you how to do other moves and how to do things during a fight. The Gym leaders are the total same, with some puzzles added in some of the gyms adding to the fun and excitement.

When it comes to wild pokemon, this is a bit different. Why do you ask? Because you don’t actually fight them. Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But Lily, I don’t like Pokemon Go, why would I want to play this game if I don’t fight wild pokemon?” Three words for you. Mount Moon Cave. Now, with that being said, let me explain why I like how they changed the wild fights. Instead of walking through tall grass then realizing that you left all your repels in your other bag…Wild Pokemon now just appear and run round so you can avoid them all together and with the actual lack of wild pokemon fights, making them easier to run away from as well. So, now you see why I’m rather fond of this mode.

With the addition of the new Pokeball Plus, it gives you the option to really feel like a real trainer with the option to “throw” the ball to catch the pokemon. On top of that, it’s another controller AND a Pokewalker. You know that little devide from Heart Gold ans Soul Silver? Yeah, you can totally take pokemon out with you. They will call out to you for attention an give you gifts along your trip. I couldn’t help but get one of these, and I am so excited that I did!!!

All in all, this is a Pokemon game. It’s a great one and perfect for those starting their adventure and veterans alike. I feel like this is a good title, and up there with Super Mario Party and, dare I say, Red Dead Redemption 2. There’s only been a handful of pokemon games that I didn’t know, and only a few I feel very passionate about. This is one of those titles that I am passionate about.

Check out the Nintendo website or any game selling store to pick up your copy. If you’re lucky enough, get the ball too! TOTALLY worth it!

I give this game 10\10 rare candy. I literally can’t tell you how special this game is to me without sounding like a child. I absolutely enjoy this game and I can’t seem to put it down.  I highly recommend this game if you’re into the series and own a switch!

Black Clover: Quartet Knights

This is one my my underdog animes. It took me a few episodes to get into this, just my My Hero. So when I heard this game was coming out, I couldn’t help but get excited. It’s been awhile since I’ve played an Anime based game or a Japanese fighting game so I was super stoked when I got a hold of a copy.  I couldn’t wait to pop this bad boy in my PS4 and sit on the couch and play it!

So after I waited a long ass time for the game to install, and beat several dungeons on WoW in the mean time, I was excited to hit the X button (I think? Idk man controllers confuse me) and watched the credits roll and then BAM intro movie started. I was sitting on the edge of my couch right now, holding that controller watching in awe as an Anime I love came to life where I controlled what happened!

This game literally throw you into combat right as you start the game. You get a well made animation did some explaining with the story before it throws you back into a fight with Mars, and from there you fight a lot of familiar faces from the Anime like Vetto, Fana and Licht!

Each character has their own magic style like in the show and manga but to be it differed a lot from them as well. Now, yes I understand there are limitations with a controller and even a keyboard and that the wide range of spells everyone knows from the show/manga can’t be condensed into several buttons and such.. This isn’t what I’m getting at. What I am trying to say, is I noticed when I was fighting Vetto, it didn’t FEEL like the beast magic. I didn’t FEEL like he was the rhino or whatever animal that freaky dude becomes.

The same went for a lot of the other people, Asta has a few new moves that almost seem magical and Yami….for the sake of him not trying to kill me. Yami is the best IMO. He feels like what a Captain should be. I haven’t had the chance to play with many other characters but when I do, I wil revise this review. I also haven’t played online at all because I don’t have the extra funds to pay for online time. IMO waste of money, but we’ll talk about that sometime maybe.

So let’s get into the story. I had an interesting time trying to figure out when this was in the time line. But, this seems to be taking place with the anime in a sense but could also be an alternate timeline? Did they learn from Blizzard?! I hope not…at least when you play BC, it feels like your’e actually part of the story and you have to save Clover Kingdom from all of the bad stuff, but I also feel like they kind of just threw Mars in, and extra characters for the sake of having them. I’m not saying this is a terrible idea, I rather like that you learn a little bit more on the lore of the game. After all, I am the Loremaster and my learning never ceases no matter what I am playing.

I like the storyline, a lot. Like more than I thought I was going to as Blizzard left a weird taste in my mouth after WoD and Alternate time lines and yeah….But I like it. I like the new characters they added and I liked how everyone was involved someway or another and it just made it worth it IMO!

So, let’s talk about the combat. As someone that has not played on console in a long time, it was hard for me to get back in the grove of not having a mouse and keyboard to move fight ect. What made it worse is it was a PlayStation contoler, and I will be honest, besides the mouse and keyboard, I am use to the xbox controller. So I feel like I was at a disadvantage, heh. But once I sat down and got used to everything, combat was a lot easier. It took awhile for me to keep my thumb on the camera stick so at first, I couldn’t ever keep an eye on my enemies and it would cause me to almost lose! Now that’s not good for a Knight!

Boiling it down, you have a basic of 4 attacks using all of the differnet triggers then one special one that is triangle? I think that’s the shape.  Anyways, the biggest struggle for me was the use of the camera angle. Now call me Old Fashion but I dislike the full control of the Camera and to me, it causes problems. Now, thought I dislike this, I still very much enjoy the game. Again, once I got used to the controls, the game is so much fun (hell even when I didn’t get them down I was still having fun)

The last thing I wanted to talk about was the graphics. I mentioned above, I was greeted by an amazing cut scene that looked like it was straight from the anime. On top of that, it had amazing graphics both the pre combat and during combat scenes.  I was a little iffy on this style honestly, there are a few games that use it and I feltit took away from the game and what it was but honestly, I really want to say that it matched it perfectly and I loved it!

Though I had a rough start with the game  i love it! The amount of characters you can chose from and the storyline really make you feel like you’re part of the game!  This totally gets 8/10 sheep!  (I love Charmy js)

Farcry 5

Man, I don’t know where I start with this game. I’ve been talking about it for so long I really started to get nervous that Ubisoft could release a good game. Now that is all, of course, up to debate. So, what I’m going to do, is something a little different from my other reviews, so stick with me here.

The Ugly:

So there’s not a lot, in my opoion that’s wrong with this game. There are some glitches to where a Co-Op groupie can’t interact with items so you end up losing out on a lot of loot, or the ability to help your friends.

There is also, currently, a bit of a server issue. That may be causing the loot glitches, but I’m not sure. Honestly, it was a blast watching my friend take down a whole place by himself while I was struggling with the D/C. He was lucky to have Boomer though.

The Bad:

So, this is stuff that are in the game, but they don’t hinder anything yet I don’t know why they’re there.

Microtransactions: So this is in the game, but I really don’t see why? It’s rather easy to get money in the game. So I don’t see why people are throwing a temper tantrum about it.

My next complaint is about Boomer, HE DOES NOT SIT SHOTGUN! UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! Why!! It’s not fair to watch him run behind a car/truck while I’m driving off 🙁

Random cut scenes kind of get in the way.  Now, they do add to the story, but when I’m in the middle of killing all of the bad guys, I would really like to finish the fight before I’m dragged away. Just saying.

The Good:

Man, this is going to be the best part, so thank you for humoring me with this review. I wanted to get the bad stuff out first because there’s a lot more good!

This game is very beautiful. Sometimes I struggle to remember if I’m in a game or if it’s real…I’m rather impressed with the graphics and just the over all appeal of the story and just over all environment!

The game play is similar to the other Farcrys.  So, it’s easy to get used to once you start which really helped with getting into the story.  I will say I was a little rusty at first but I got back into the groove quickly.

Let’s start with the story. So yes, it’s a typical here’s the bad guy you need to stop them blah blah…..but when you sit there and actually pay attention, it’s quite awesome. It’s really involving when you listen to the background conversations and then follow the main story line. You really get both side of the it when you play through and I will admit, it’s very immersive.  If I honestly had the choice, I would probably join Eden’s Gate. 100%

Now, the weapons are expansive and unique. You have your standard pistols, shotguns Machine guns ect ect. But the real quality lies in the melee weapons.  Why is this a good thing? Dude, metal pats, hoes, shovels ect. I mean there’s so many different object it just makes it so much better to play how you want to play, which leads to the next point…

You can literally play however you want.  With the different NPC’s you have (my personal favorite is Boomer) and the weapon variety you can be whatever you want.  You can be stealthy, or just go in an fuck shit up. Whatever you want it’s all you!

I could literally go on and on about every topic, but I really feel like this is something you guys need to check out. So far this is a top game for the year that I’ve had the time to play!

This gets 9/10 sinners.  Even with all of the down sides, the good notes make it a lot better. I must say, this is one of my favorite games!  So I recommend this game to everyone who isn’t scared of the fbomb or crazy God loving cultists.

I have a few more games in my list and several more to add here shortly. But yeah…

Want to play this amazing game? Go here

Overwatch

Before I wanted to do this review, I wanted to actually sit and play this game for awhile to get a real taste of the release, before patches are made. This is about a week late. We had a lot going on…My chinchilla got hurt and we had to take care of him for awhile but everything is better now! So, let’s get started!!!

Overwatch. A game that’s had a lot of Hype as well as a lot of controversy.  For those who are unaware, Overwatch is a FPS release by Blizzard entertainment. You have 21 heroes you can pick from and 12 randomly picks maps with 4 different play styles, minus the practice ring. I will say, that I am not a big FPS fan, but I fell in love with this game. I like all the aspects so far, but I’m nervous about the patch notes. I’ve been a blizzard fan for awhile, but some of their patches…:/ But that’s for another time 🙂 Like Legion.

21 Hero Street

21 unique heroes, from numerous countries,  that bring a unique feel to the game. You can’t go wrong with any of them, unless you choose Bastion (Or like 4 of them on one team…yeah screw you). There are several Heroes right now that are OP, but there are several that take some skill to play. Each character has an attack, and alt attack and finally an Ult attack. Unless you’re a healer then you have a Heal, ect ect ect….Mercy (Heroes should die when it’s the opposite team). You have about five different “kinds” of Heroes. Offense (high Damage), Tank, Defense(Low Damage), Support, Bastion.  Lily, what do you have against Bastion? You’ve never played the game if you don’t know…

Any who, the different ranks, really make the game. The Offense and Defense pretty much self explain themselves. You have Heroes who just BLAST away their enemies, with out a Tracer…then you have the heroes that aren’t meant to do a lot of damage but can still hurt, the Dragon eats all enemies. Tanks are almost a must for certain types of games, and My go to right now, if Reinhardt. It’s almost hard to mess up Reinhardt…..yeah that’s probably a lie but eh….He wants to Arm Wrestle soon!

My oh My Maps!

There are 12 maps, three assigned to different types. Escort (ugh), Assault (Whoot!), Assault/Escort (F’n really?!), Control (AWE YEAH). You travel around the world for every map, where you’re then asked to summon your team and do whatever the objective is. Whether you escort a slow truck through Hollywood, or you defend a Meiji style castle from your foes, and bring honor back to your family. I’ve played every map so many times, I’m yearned for more. I can only set up turrets on this one ledge so many times before I just can’t take it anymore. Let’s go over the different map types super fast.

Assault: For those who don’t make a while Bastion Team, this is a map where you and your team either defend or attack certain points across the map. Who ever has the most points win the game.

Escort: Do I really need to go over this? You know, you follow this thing around and protect it.

Assault/escort: Literally combine the other two maps.  Defend a point, then escort something then DEFEAT!

Control: My favorite map type so far! You control points, contest them and VICTORY!

I hope they add more maps, and more game typed.

To game or not to game? That is the Bastion.

My beef with Bastion. I’m going to lay this out for you, but I wanted to talk about the game a little. Bastion is a very OP character, and it seems to be a “noob” character in my opinions. I say this because Bastion has three forms, I call them Mobile assault, Turret and Tank. Screw every single one of these. I only play him when we’re in dire need of a big push but I tend to stick to other characters.

My Overview

I love this game. I didn’t think I was going to, but it was an awesome surprise when I installed the game and loaded it. I may lose a lot, but that doesn’t turn me away at all. It just means I get to play again. This game has its ups and downs.  Your team and Teamwork will literally make or break the game, or being cheap.  Meh, Bastion.

I give this game a 8/10. Once the first patch comes out, I will edit this review and post another one. I’m interested to see what’s going to happen next patch.

Creativerse

Creativerse

Creativerse is just one of those games that you use to kill time. A Minecraft Remake, it adds new lands, creatures and adventure to your gaming history.

I rather enjoyed the game, but I finished the story line in less than a day and it left me yearning way more.  It is an early access title, so I will be keeping my eye on it 🙂

You start out at a spawn point with nothing in your inventory except a note…In my opinion, a super creepy note written by someone I don’t know that told me to run away from home and hopefully I’d survive in the wilderness.

Yes, you read that right. You’re a runaway. A runaway. I mean you’re literally a little kid alone in the woods hoping to survive the night. How? Why? No idea. It’s literally one of those things where you’re scared to question it, but at the very same time…WHAT’S WITH THE NOTE MAN COMMON! What’s in the note?!?!?!

The beauty of  the game.

The beauty lies with the blocks in this game. Everything is unique and different and not pixelates. It reminds me of Trove, but with more details. From the Bark on the tree to the spots on the giant crabs. This game is a great remake of classics and I think does some sort of Honor to the genre, for those who just do vanilla graphics and doesn’t touch mods. (JS!!).

The total amount of detail spend on this game is pretty nice. I can tell what dirt is, dying grass, logs animals. I’m not sitting here like “Hm this looks like water, nope it’s a hole annnnnnnd I’m dead. Crap.”

Taming, mining and farming. Oh my!

There’s a lot more to this game then surviving your first night. You can Thrive! If you follow me on Instagram (link in my contact section) You’ve probably noticed me posting picture of things I’ve tamed. Taming is HUGE in this game if you can’t find the right materials in a timely manner. If you know me, then  you know I’m all about taming and farming and being one with Nature. Heh.

Taming creatures is beneficial only if you’re looking at drops. Right now, they don’t fight with you. But all creatures are tameable. If you have the health, patience and the time 🙂

Farming is a bit fun. You gather Turnips, melons cabbage and wheat, grind them into seeds and Vu la! Food. Food that can be made into sandwiches, soups, weapons, bombs. Or you can just feed animals that like the veggie. That works too. When you feed your tamed companion, you can later harvest them and get what they would normally drop plus a few extra things. Who knew a sammich would be useful!

Oh where to start with mining
.Mining.  It’s just like it sounds. YOu start off mining wood and dirt. Ooo. Exciting. You have to mining a mining tool, that attaches to your wrist and sucks up stones and other things. I will admit, this is pretty neat. No more running around picking up blocks for me! Nope! This is when my only real issue with the games comes in. To advance, you have to FIND materials to make the more advanced tools. And I had a hard time finding the elements i needed to go on. I still trudged on tho and got to the third mining level, but then that was it. I was heartbroken.

It may have just been luck, but that’s what made me change to my farmer-self that I know and love.

To play or not to play?

Though this game is in early release, there are bugs and a short story. I’m sure as they start adding to the game, it won’t be a let down. The game has the exact same aspects as Minecraft. There’s the surface layer, then you mine down and you get to an end layer called, Corruption. There are tougher creatures there to fight and phat loots.

Personally, I found it harder to gather materials, and was happy that i had a team with me. Like with some games, I ended up being the supplier of foods and good, in exchange for weapons, armor and mining tools.  Which I’m OK with. It was still super fun, I got to follow people to the Corruption and just plain enjoy the game 🙂

I give this game a 7/10. I do suggest to you guys, to give the game a try. If you don’t like it, you’ll only be out on time 🙂 It’s free to play! So common! Give it a gooooo!!!!!!
