Slashy Souls

I literally don’t know where to start with this game besides it’s a mobile version of Dark Souls. It combines a series we have all come to enjoy/hate (depending who you are) and the epic thing we carry around with us that’s basically a way to bring Facebook out in public instead of sitting at home on a computer/console/laptop/where is my car? This review is going to be a little short because of the game but that’s OK! I feel like this is a game everyone should know about  and I do feel bad that I didn’t review this one right away, and chose to do Kingdom Hearts instead!!!

This game is a scroller where you, as the title state, “slash” your enemies. It’s a hard version of Fruit Ninja. What ever happened to that game….I kind of miss it and my lightsaber sword. Ah went off topic! Oops!!!! The over all feel of this game is a mobile Dark souls. I’m hoping that’s what they were going for…. It’s dark over tones, ghastly skeletons and a tiny adorable Red Knight and his epic sword. For a mobile game, it looks pretty good and easy on the eyes. The scrolling is kind of intense if you look away for a second or even BLINK! Oh man, this game requires all of the focus!!!

The sounds are just a regualr slash n hack game with generic sword tings ect. Nothing too fancy. The music though was pretty cool to me. This is one of the few mobile games I can stand having the sound on!!

The most interesting thing about this game, is it was released by Game Stop. With that being said, I heard that they were going to start game developing! Very interesting if you ask me.  They’re working on Song of the Deep right now, and I will admit I’m super stoked about it. But going back to Slashy Souls…

This was a great fix for Dark Souls. The game is still up and around so please give it a try, and it’s totally free!!! However, for the sake of your phone, it is a frusrating game and the controls are a little wonky or unresponsive. I came across that a lot with that game, and made me lose interest pretty fast. But all in all with everything being said ect ect. The game itself fed my need for Dark Souls.

The game gets a 5/10 though. The controls kind of made the game harder than it needed to be. But the Music made up for it totally!!!

Kingdom Hearts Unchained X

I want to start off by saying that I adore the KH series, but this isn’t a typical KH game so my passion doesn’t seem to want to interfere with this rating and review. Regardless let’s begin!!

When I came across this game, I got super excited! Like it was so hard to contain how I felt!! I came into this game, thinking it was a KH games, but I was slightly surprised. I know with it being a mobile game they cant actually MAKE the KH game, but it was close enough to make the Keybearer inside me squeal like a mouse!

Now, the story takes place after the KH series and you were born for this role. The darkness has returned and it’s up to you and your faction/kingdom to defeat the evil together and save the world!!! Wait…faction? Huh?! Oh yeah. You have to pick basically who you play with. What faction you want. The player system is like most other RPG games in this game. You take another players top medal to fight with, but you don’t actually play WITH them. So I was a little sad But this isn’t all.

With this being a Disney and Square Enix game, you do come across that will have you run around in a semi-open world area to kill remaining enemies or just do silly tasks for them. When you do get to run around, you do have options to avoid fights, but it’s kind of silly to do that.

The battle system is simple. You swipe to attack and during each attack, you have the option to use your medals, which are actually like a party system kind of. After you and the party have a chance to attack, it’s then the enemy turn to attack. Unlike a party system though, it’s all you that takes damage and dies. haha.

You are assigned missions to do, for bot Story purpose and XP, there are on average four to five battles and you run around the tiny area and collect things. The fights are all over in seconds and then you get the rewards. There are a lot of upgrade options in this game as well, so in case the game is getting too difficult, you can always try to make it simpler.

Now for the downside. Money. Money money money!!! Money makes this world turn. You can buy gems to use for new medals, restore stamina and increase your inventory for max storage! Other than the Jewel system, nothing else grabs my attention. A lot of  merchants are lacking items and it’s kind of sad. I may be expecting too much from this game, but at the same time it does have a KH feel.

All in all, this game was fun and exciting and I was super excited to play it, and keep playing it. I recommend this game if you have the time and are a big fan of the series 🙂 It gets a 5/10.

Fallout Shelter

Hey everyone! Hope you have all been well! I’ve been stuck in a Shelter waiting for the perfect time to get out and I thought now would be a good time to tell you about what I have been up to! Well, by being stuck in a Shelter, I mean I’ve been having some major back problems which have been preventing me from doing pretty much anything I wanted to do. Not fun at all!!!!! But, So far so good!!!

Before we get into the review, I have a few announcement for everyone! I’m in the process of getting a little Etsy store up and running. Show your support for UMG and check it out when it’s done 🙂 All purchases go to improving UMG and who know! Maybe even more :0

I’ve been hooked on Fallout Shelter! The new Mobile game where you’re in charge of your very own Shelter! How epic is that? I discovered this game right after I heard the fantastic news about Fallout 4. For those who have been living a secluded Shelter for a while, Bethesda has announced the next awesome installment of Fall Out Coming out November 10th of this year! I mean WHAT!!?!?! that’s so close! I think I may go crazy while I wait for it!

Now, Fallout Shelter is a lot different than the games. I know there have been some MObile version of games like Oblivion etc that have some of the story line in it but this one isn’t one of those.

You are the Overseer, the ruler of the might vault. It’s your job and yours alone (well…maybe Mr. Handy can help…) to make sure all of your dwellers are happy and not radioactive (I’m Radioactive, radioactive…). Those dwellers you deem worthy, can get sent out to the wastelands and collect bottle caps, gear and weapons to arm their fellow dwellers incase you get attacked by those Radroaches, Raiders and Mole Rats. God I hate Mole Rats….For those dwellers that have the stats you want to populate jobs or even just the shelter in general, you can breed them.  That’s right. You have little children running around your shelter like it’s nobody’s business. One time I forgot I had two people in the Barracks and I was overran by children. it was kind of scary.

Now, if breeding people isn’t your thing, you can always expaned your shelter with the hopes of getting new Dwellers for your place. RaideoStations work wonders for this. Now, not only do you have to worry about saving people, you can to worry about keeping them alive. Each person has their own unique trait that makes them useful. And I use that in a very light way. You have to train them basically to be totally awesome at their job, and even then sometimes that’s not enough. There are stats that each person has that makes them terrible or epic at a job. Those high in Agility help out in the Diner (why I am not terribly sure) Intelligence is for the Medpay and things like that Perception is Water Treatment and so forth. Once you get the right amount of dwellers you can train them in c talent to make them more useful and do what you need them to do.

Each room has something special about it. Diners make you food, Water Treatment water and you can’t forget energy. You can also build classrooms ect to train particular skills to make someone more perficiant in one place. The more you upgrade the better off your community will thrive. And thriving is good!

Of course, you think you’re safe and hidden away in the wastelands, but I’ll tell you what. You’re wrong. You are so wrong it’s not even funny. Hahaha! Ok, maybe it’s a little funny. There are multiple creatures that are out to make sure everyone dies, and you fail as an overseer. My favorite thing was my first Raider attack, because I didn’t have any weapons or anything. They just kinda came in, and took over everything and that was about it. However, once you get people with guns and armor, you’re basically unstoppable!

Graphics are pretty nice for a mobile game. The dwellers are Vault Boy variants, and I find that really neat. Even though sometimes I find it hard to tell my dwellers apart, but that kept me playing. The creatures that spawn are easily identified as well so that was hard to mix up.

For the most part, the sounds are pretty generic sounds. Nothing terribly special there. Default gun sounds, alarms and retro 60’s style music blips when you level up someone.

All in all if you’re looking for an addictive time killer, this may not be the one for you. It takes time to do anything, and everything takes time. Harvesting, exploration, breeding. It all can take a few mionutes for the minium amount and longer for even more. There’s also set backs if you’re looking to play it all at once.

I liked the game, it was enjoyable and something to do every hour or so for a few minutes before opening a book or playing another game.

I give it 7/10 bottle caps. Thought the game itself is part of a Legacy, it took a lot of time to ensure everything worked and even then, I had issued with the game. Random attack slaughtering my guys and even fires and Radiation killing off everyone. But, I still had fun with it. 🙂

Lionheart Tactics

I have always enjoyed real time tactic games and this is one of the better ones I have played this year. It’s a free to play game and I feel like I would pay for this game if it came to it, that’s how much I enjoyed it.

The storyline to me is a bit cliché. You are a knight that has to fight an evil presence with a group of people. The more people you gather the more you can do when you fight. You have the option to pick melee classes and some ranged ones. If you plan right you can make the best team. I personally use two melee and two rang with a healer.

In enjoy the fighting style and how the turns work. It reminds me a lot of Super Mario RPG and Final Fantasy Tactics. You start out in a map that you can literally move which ever way you want to get a better view of your enemies and the map to better plan your attack. Once you finish your move it is the enemy’s turn. Whenever someone gets a hit off, there is a retaliation. Sometimes that’s a make or break moment.

When you reach a certain limit you have to combine other heroes to make the ones you want to use stronger. I have noticed this becoming a huge part of mobile games. Combining different heroes to make a certain things and people stronger. So is this a new trend or something? What ever happened to good ol’ leveling?

The graphics are crystal clear. I feel like they’re fit for a PC they’re so clear. I found it hard to put my Shield down. This game was both graphical intriguing as well as easy to play. Its all tap and slide.

This game is enjoyable both gameplay and graphic wise. I had a lot of fun playing it and this will be in my top 10 in January! Don’t miss out on the great chance to play this game OK? If you love tactical games then you should try it out!

I give this game a 8/10. I wasn’t a big fan of the story it was too cliché for me. I did enjoy how you play the game and the different types of game play.

Throne Rush

Throne Rush is a mobile/Facebook game where you build walls, turrets  and armies to protect your castle as well as defeat other players  in hopes off gaining their riches and food. The game really centers around what you can build to make sure you cannot be defeated when you are attacked by other people. There isn’t much more to the game than that.

There really isn’t a story line to this game. There is a story mode which you just use the army you build and destroy NPC castles and get whatever they had stored. Certain NPC castles will give you extra items such as potions, and gems that you can use for magical spells, as long as you have a certain building. The goal of the game, like I’ve said before, is to build a stronghold to protect your castle. You also need to build a strong army so that you can defeat others who think they are not penetrable.

To get the strong armies, you have to upgrade your castle. It takes a while to get a high level castle. Building time is real time so when it tells you it takes a week…it takes a week. To get the different types of people in your army you have to level up your Barracks. There are many types of classes available for you as you level up. Dragons, Hawks, Gryphons, Orcs, Elves. Anything can be at your fingertips as long as you have the time and patience to level your buildings.

As I said earlier you have the option to purchase spells with Potions and other random things you get when you play against other people. You can have aa max of 5 spells that you will have to repurchase after every use. The same goes with your armies. Even if your game crashes during a fight, you still lose what you used during that game, so play wisely. It takes me an average of 30 minutes to get my army back to full when I play against people, and even in the campaign mode.

The game for the most part is free to play but you have the option to purchase Gems when you will need if you don’t want to wait for a building or to purchase Heroes.  Heroes are strong(ish) NPC’s that you can have to assist your armies during a battle.  When you first begin the game, you have an option to purchase gems at half the price plus get a few extra. I personally went for the 19.99 set which included 130 extra gems. It’s a nice way tto get started if you think you can apply the extra time so it wont feel like you wasted money on the game.

Throne rush to me is a novelty game. After a certain amount of time it becomes a waiting game and eventually turns into down time where you can’t really do anything because you are waiting for your stuff to build. All in all it’s a fun game if you can build quick and have friends to help you.I give this game a 5/10. I don’t really enjoy the down time., and it seems like everything you rely on as down time at certain points in the game and they really make or break you.

Mouse Town

Have you ever wanted to be a mighty mouse with the strength to slay evil reptiles that are trying to eat you? Now you have that chance! Mouse town is a little RPG exploring strategy game available on Android and iOS phones, tablets and other devices. Your goal is to explore the area, gather  heroes and resources  while trying to fend off all sorts of reptiles who are out to get you and your mousey town.

When you first load the game, you will have to go through a simple tutorial. It explains  how to build places, fight and gather what you need. Each time you build something you get the chance to gain more mice which are used to build stores, explore and repair. The more mice you have the more you can do. But each time you use a mouse, it takes awhile for them to come back. I find that if you build a about 12 houses you will be ok in the earlier levels. You can always spend gems, which you are given a few when you start but you can always purchase them, to get better everything, like with most mobile games.

The combat mechanics are unique to the game in the sense you legitimately control who attacks and heals what. It’s a simple swipe motion to guide your little mouse to it’s for to slay him. You can also use power-ups as they are gained or you can use a gem to boost them up. As you fight you level your heroes and better gear becomes available.  I found that most of the gear you have to use gems for…which I find to be a bit silly. But when a game is free you have to think of a way to make it worth your while I guess.  But if you do end up playing for a bit every once in awhile you’re give 1-3 gems whether it’s from leveling or doing specific quests. At the end of every fight, your hero must sleep to renew it’s energy.  It can be a bit annoying especially when you’re trying to explore.

The exploration is very time consuming, and a bit annoying. You can only explore in a certain areas and it makes your town a strange shape and a bit hard to worth with in the start until you’re about level 10, when it’s a nice open area.  When you open a new area, you have to fight a lizard of some sort to open the area to get it’s resources or heroes. When you start out the exploration goes by quickly, but after that it drags on. The fights you had to do to unlock the area now require more than one go, but they’re roughly the same fight. Exploration is beneficial to you as you can unlock heroes for free. Other heroes can be purchased through their store using gems.

The graphics are simple. The mouse seem to be clip art type mice with paper doll like movements. Everything is made out of items you’d throw away or have somewhere in your house. A table made from a thimble and a spool of thread, a tea house  made from a tea pot. All little items a mouse could find useful.

Beside the fact that almost everything neat is only purchased with cash or gems, it’s a game that would be a great way to kill boredom for a few hours. Assuming you like waiting a period off time before you can progress in the game then it’s perfect! I feel like if the game didn’t have as much down time it could really be fun!!! I give this game a 5/10.  Though I do enjoy the game, the fact that I have to wait to do anything makes it slightly annoying. I feel that the  way the levels of exploration were poorly placed and made the area a little difficult to place objects you need to even go on in the game.

Dragon Coins

Dragon Coins is a great way to kill time. I am a huge fan of the coin dozer games so when you mix it up with some fancy monsters what could go wrong? Besides the slightly addicting side.

I had came across this game while i was at training. I do want to add this is why I have not been posting often.  With training over now i will be back in the game!  I find this game to be a wonderful way to kill time when there’s nothing else to do and you leave your 3DS in your hotel room.

The game play is simple. Your goal is to defeat the rounds by dropping coins into a platform. You have unlimited. Coins but you do have an amount of turns before the opposing monsters fight. Like most games your goal is to become powerful and collect monsters to evolve and fuse.

It’s all touch based, so all you have to do is place the coin on the dozer and knock coins off into your monsters at the bottom of the screen. Each monster has a specific amount of coins needed in order for them to attack. There are also blocks that you can get that gives your monster enough power to use their special ability. The special abilities range from speeding up the dozer to 2X the attack. Throughout the mission, you have chances to get monsters, through gems.  At the end of each round there is a boss fight the boss drops more coins and a possibility of a rare monster.

The graphics are simple and adorable. For a mobile game they’re crisp and clear, but it might be because I have the HD screen, but I was fairly impressed with them. There’s not a lot to them really.

I enjoyed the time I’ve spent playing this game, and have never felt the need to spend money on this game to get extra features. I give this game a 9/10! Give it a try if you have the free time, I can tell you, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Badland: Phone Game

If you have the free time to spare, you should try out Badland. It’s a very beautiful game for what it is. It’s  full of mystery and adorable creatures! The goal is to get your little guy or guys to the end of the adventure without dying. On some levels, that’s harder that it seems but other times it’s quite easy.  It was hard for me to stay alive at least but I kept getting distracted by the background and the atmosphere.

The graphics, like I have said, are just plain amazing for this being a phone game. It’s full of mystery and a lovely array of colors. The puzzles themselves, are solid black with a vibrantly colored background of fantasy scene. It’s almost like you are playing a dream.

There are not many characters in the game. You play as little tiny fluff balls with wings. You can grow or shrink depending on things you touch. The goal is to get to the end of the adventure in one, or many, pieces! To do this, you fly through the levels, avoiding obstacles and the ever close scrolling screen. If you manage to get caught or fall behind, then you lose that round but you have the option of starting where you left off so it’s not a total reset. I enjoyed that a lot!

The controls are quite simple. For those of you who are familiar with Chocobo Tales, you may remember when you have to fight that underwater dragon and you have to tap your screen to move up or down to avoid being eaten by the dragon. That’s pretty much this game except you don’t really have to tap. Just hold your finger on the screen and you go up and when you remove your finger your character goes down. So the controls may be simple but if this isn’t something you are use to. Do a few practice rounds! Never hurts to practice, even if you’re good at it!

There isn’t really a story for this game but there are some cool features that I think you guys should know if you are going to play. This game uses Physics in a really cool way. The way your character moves and how objects in the level work are very realistic and if you have even a basic understanding of Physics, you will have a lot of fun!

You can play up to 70 levels of single player. Each level different more difficult but just and beautiful as the next or you can play with up to four (4) people with Local Multiplayer.  If you dn’t know what that means…Local Muliplayer are just people who are on your network playing the same game. So if you have friends who are playing the game with you while chilling in your house or an other place, you can invite them to play with you and experience this game together!

I really liked this game, It has a good amount of replay value. It is available on the Android (free), Iphone (3.99 USD) and Blackberries (1.99 USD). This game get a 9/10 Lily Points! You really need to check it out! This comes highly recommended not only by myself, but about 80,000 other people!

Plants vs Zombies 2

Plants vs Zombies 2 has finally been released! About time, am I right? I downloaded the game on my phone for free and gave it a whirl while my car was getting worked on, and I kind of liked the game.

It’s almost like the older game but with new, fancy plants and dressed up zombies. I was super impressed with this little mobile game! My only real complaint with this game is that is really overheated my phone and sometimes it didn’t respond well to my commands. I’d end up digging up the wrong plant of not using the plant food when I really needed it, thus losing the level.

The game is visually appealing and the sounds and music go with each stage rather well.  For being played on a tiny screen, I wouldn’t mind staring at this game for long periods of time. It didn’t hurt my eyes at all. The voices they added for the zombies were nice too. Very soft speaking zombies that aren’t yelling. I really enjoyed that. Not a huge fan of the loud screaming Zombies. I did find the Neighbor and His Car to be rather annoying. They popped up in dumb times and the “voices” they had made me end up muting my phone. I’m all for the “rabbl rabbl” of the human but they made the car beep in high pitched tones and so often that I couldn’t stand it.

I found that in some of the levels, I had a difficult time trying to get my defense up before 2 hordes of Zombies were headed my way. It was pretty intense and left my flustered at the end. This game, is a little more harder than the first game. But not so much that it’s near impossible to beat. I just had some problems with a few of the levels that just liked to throw what it could at you. But, if it wasn’t for certain plants, I would have probably just spent some money and make my army.

It’s just really nice of Popcap to release a free game, and have it be free and mean it. When I say that the game is free, it’s free if you own an Android phone, sadly, if you own an iPhone, you will have to pay 99 cents for the game , bummer… There are a few games out there that say the game is free but when you need something that can save you or help you progress to the next level you have to pay so much money for a single item that isn’t real. How lame is that?  I like that they gave you an option to buy everything now or just play and unlock it. So. if you don’t like playing the game all the way through, you have the option of buying, with REAL money, all of the plants you can unlock during the story game play. You can also purchase buffs like, Plant food, as well. they did a nice job with that! So Kudos!

With all said and done, it’s a well put together game that I do enjoy playing. It’s a great time killer and a way to distract yourself. I now prefer the game to be played muted, but if the constant sound of a car horn is one of your favorite sounds then TURN IT UP! =D  I do recommended this game though =D  It gets a 7/10 Lily points =3 Check it out! As always though, please subscurbe for updates. I do post a review every money. I also post a new video on my Youtube every Friday and I stream games every saturday! Follow me on Twitter for all updates =D YAY!

Monster Match: Mobile Game

This nifty little puzzle (also it’s FREE) is great if you have done time to kill but it also has some incentive to pay daily. This is a typical elemental game where each monster you have represents a certain element. You have monsters who are weak against one but very setting against another. Each monster also has a special move they can do when toy get enough gems I’d their color.some odd them change gems to their color whine others do a massive amount of damage.

Depending on how you play the game can be really fun or just pain annoying. Sometimes you get dealt a terrible hand while other times you Miss gems

A typical puzzle has several waves followed by a boss stage. During the rounds your goal its to get as many gems as possible with out dying. Each waves has a chance for you to catch a monster that you can use to evolve your team, boost them our even replace them.

If you are one to play a game for days in a row you will be happy to hear that you get two type of rewards. One its daily and of you miss a say our resets.the other one is a reward that builds up and if you miss a say it stops where you left off.

There isn’t much more to this game other than they have events monthly where you can catch super rare monsters that can be used to boost your monsters.

I give the game 6/10 Lily points =D I was hooked the game, but then I had to go to work so I haven’t had much time to play =D But I do still play whenever I h ave free time!
