Dragon Ball Z Kakarot

The Dragon Ball series has a lot of history. The whole series started back on April 26, 1989. Who’s would have known it would have over 30 games, and over 800 episodes with the name. It has to be one of the well known animes of it’s time.

But have you ever thought…what would it be like to have control over the world? To explore the world of Dragon Ball Z and defeat the BBEG of the franchise? Well fear not, for Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is here to feed those urges. I must say, if you’re a fan this is a game for you! This year has been very hard on my wallet. With many games coming out that I have been watching for awhile it was hard to say no to this one.

I have always been a fan of the Dragon Ball Games. I love their unique fighters and some of their new ones added to the story. This game is no exception. I feel like there is a lot to do in this game over the others, but I still like that it feels like a DB game. The story mode for this game it what sets it apart from the rest.

Once you get through the start of the game, you can explore the world that is opened up to you. You’re able to explore the world while flying around as the good ol’ Kakarot. Between fighting minions, no names and other worthless NPC’s you eventually get through and fight the end saga bosses and hopefully you succeed.

Let’s talk about gameplay for a moment. Combat is a strong point in the game. You are able to pick and choose your combat style by what buttons or triggers you hit. Just like in the show, when you go Super Saiyan you become stronger. Over time, you run out of Ki and revert back to your normal state. Just like in their lore, you can’t stay Super Saiyan forever.

You have the power to pick and choose your attacks through the level up system and each character can have their own set. It’s a in depth system that involves level up as well as utilizing other characters you get to help progress your arc and your attacks. The more you play the more you can unlock, just like in the show.

The story line of the game, is a pretty good tie in for the show. If you haven’t seen the show or you have forgotten all of the fun parts of it this is a pretty good game for you. I can’t speak for everyone but I didn’t find the story boring. I remembered all of the sagas well so I would have assumed it would be boring to repeat it all but I loved the sense of power I had and feeling like Goku made it for me. Obviously, this is just for me but I still say it’s an enjoyable game and I think you guys will like it to.

It was so nice being able to see older characters from the arc as well as the new characters. I feel like this game has a lot to offer new and old fans alike. Though I did find the damage numbers to be a little annoying and the lack of outfit customization, I found the game to be enjoyable. I did, however, feel like there wasn’t a big call to be replayed right away but it’s a game I’ll keep in my library.

DBA Kakarot gets a solid 7/10 Dragon Balls from me. I loved the game itself but I could be picking on some details that are meaningless. Some of the arcs I found to be a little lack luster but it’s still solid. The good out weighs the bad in my opinion and I feel like you should check it out!

Cat Quest

Have you ever wanted to be a cat? Like seriously. A tiny little cat, with an amazing power…or do you think that Legend of Zelda games would be better as a kitten trying to save his sister?! No? Well….I think you’re wrong. Just saying. hehe

So this game was one of those random ones on my list. I’ve heard about it, and frankly I thought it was a myth until it showed up at my work the other day and I just knew I had to play it. So that’s what I did.

The storyline is rather adorably dark. You and your sister are out alone on a boat and then a big bad guy decides your sister is very important and then takes her, and tells you to shove off and then you wake up on a shore with a strange mark on your head and a weird Navi type cat is like “HEY LISTEN”

So, it’s a quasi open world adventure game where you get to play as cute little kittens and you fight various creatures, take on fun puzzles and grow your strength and your magic. It starts off with a great tutorial and really let you do things at your own pace for the most part. When you look into the new towns, there’s quite a few things you can do. You can sleep (you literally fall on the ground and it’s too cute) upgrade/purchase new magic spells and just talk to the different catizens and learns a bit more about the place.

The world scales rather nicely as you level. You can tell when something is a little bit more difficult but it’s literally nothing a little piece of armor or a new magic spell can’t solve. You really have to use the skills you’ve learned when you go after some enemies and I like that I have to e on my toes.

Honestly, I absolutely love this game and I have recommended it to everyone that is looking for a fun new game to play on their switch. Now, I am also aware that the game is a few years old, but I apologize for nothing. This is a great game and it has provided me with a lot of fun and I felt it was worthy of a review. So here you go. This is my review haha

I give this game a purr-fect score of 9/10 I loved this game. It kept me entertained long enough that i lost track of time and went to bed later than I usually do haha. It really knew how to suck me in and was worth the time.

This game is available on all platforms so just look it up 😀

Don’t forget to check out all of my other links n stuff and like share subscribe ect. There is a huge update that’s going to be made here on Saturday so keep in touch!!!

Super Mario 3D World

Save the Fairies! Bowser has taken the time to capture many fairies.  Solve puzzles, kill bosses and become a kitty in order to save the world!

A normal day starts off in the beginning of the game, but it’s never a Mario game unless Bowser takes someone and you have to save them! He ends up stealing the  Sprixie Princesses. You travel through six different worlds, each ending in a castle fight where the ultimate rewards is a Princess who then opens up a pipe to the next area.

The game play is rather simple. When you use an actual controller, it plays like any other Mario game. You can also use the WiiMote, which is held sideways or you can use to game pad. Which, if you use it wrong really messes with the camera angle and you can end up causing more troubles then being helpful, but more on that later.

This game introduced a fun item to the game. A Cat Bell. The bell is needed to solve many platforms and it’s just so darn cute! You get the ability to climb walls and attack with your claws. It’s very fun. You also have the Fire Flower and the  Tanooki leaf. Each item can be stored now as well so now you can have one of each and change when it’s needed. I really like this feature especially when I would get hit and lose my suit.

Though you can play with other people, there are some games that you will have to play alone, using the game pad. They are extra little puzzles that grant you stars and coins. The game pad, like I said before, can be used as an controller but you have to be a little careful if you are playing with other people. You can adjust the camera angle, making the game harder or easier depending on how you do it.  When I played this with my friend, he kept changing the camera angle and I kept falling off the edge!!!

I really enjoyed the music. It gave a nice feel to each level and it changed as you got further into a puzzle. It really kept my interest while avoiding Koopa Troopas and Goombas (Which, I want to add, can be kitties too). The graphics were as great as the music. You can really tell the difference on this system then with the Wii. They are more HD and vastly more detailed as well. You can see each scale on Bowser’s arm and the little tuff of fur on your kitty Toad’s head!

This is just a great game all around. I give it a 8/10. It’s easy and fun to play and it’s worth tthe hours you put into it. There is a deceant amount of replay value to the game as well. I didn’t like that the game pad changes the camera angle whenever you use it. It makes for easy trolling or accidents that can result in a lost life. Other then that, I really loved this game!!!

Pokemon Rumble U

After finally having enough to get a Wii U one of the first games I got to play was Pokemon Rumble. This game is a very fun platform game where you play as little toy Pokemon and you became lost when the person who was putting you out fell. You now have to find your way back to the toy store so you can be purchased and loves by the children who buy you.

You start off with the started Pokemon from Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, since this game was released in August of last year and X and Y hadn’t been released. As you play through the stages you “befriend” more Pokemon that you can use to clear stages.

In the beginning you use the controllers but as the stages become more difficult, you get to use the touch pad to use a huge AoE. They’re fairly simple controls as well. If you have a WiiMote, you have to hold it on your side and use 1 and 2 to attack and the arrows to move around. The regular controller is the basic A and B keys and the joystick to move.

The graphics are very colorful and adorable. They did a great job matching the background and the challenge titles together. There are a few games that don’t so this was a nice touch for me. The characters themselves were very chibi like. They had the large head and the little body, and even included their original sounds from the actual game.

The storyline itself is a little cliche and boring in some points. Zekrom seems to be the main bad guy in this game. After defeating every stage he appears and talks some depressing chitchats and then it’s off to the next level.

All in all this game is super fun when you play with friends but it’s just as fun to play alone.  Not only is it very involving it’s a great time killer. Depending on the power of your Pokemon the stages can last seconds to minutes.

This game is just super fun and it’s something you should check out!! Now sadly, this game is not free. It’s $17.99 USD and can be purchased from the Nintendo Store. It is also available for the 3DS.

I give this game a 9/10. I really enjoyed the game, but I wish there was a way to combine Pokemon to increase their powers.  That is about the only negative thing I have about this game but it doesn’t really affect the game play much.

Path of Exile

Path of Exile has to be one of my top games for this year! The amount of customization you can do with your characters is simply amazing. I reccomend this game if you really enjoyed Diablo!

Each character you can choose from are set with no appearance customizations. Each has their own story as to why they have been Exiles.  Some of their stories are very absurd while others are simple. I happened to choose the Witch as my character. She was made fun of and taunted in her town but as time went on she got even and stole the towns children.

Questing is very fun in this game! You get the chance to explore the area, which changes when you log in and out. There are different areas you can explore each having a waypoint so you can return to town and then return to adventuring.

Leveling and gearing up are fairly simple to do as well. You fly by levels so quick it’s hard to keep track of what level you are! In just under 3 hours I went from level 3 to level 17! As you kill mobs, gear drops. But like a few games, what drops on the ground isn’t just yours. It’s shared loot. So if you’re playing with a fried, it’s best to work out loot rules. When I played with my Friend, we ended up quite lucky as we needed different stats on our gear so we haven’t butt heads yet.

When you level up, you gain points to use in the gigantic talent tree. Each time you add a point to a branch you get more powerful or gain more health/mana. When it comes to learning spells however, you have to find gems. Each Gem is a certain color and those colors coordinate with slots on your gear. Some gems are just for stats while other increase a spell you have or just grant you an al new spell. You also get the option to level up your gems too. This increases the stats of the gems making them more powerful. YOu can also remove a gem before you sell an Item so you are not at a loss of spells.

For the size of this game, it’s very neat and tidy. The graphics are pretty well put together. You feel like you are in the area you spawn in. Foot steps in the water, trickling sounds from the ceiling. The environment is fairly interactive in the sense that if you run into it it moves or makes a sound.

All in all, this game is pretty fun. I do feel that once the game is beaten there may not be much of a replay value. But this game is Free to Play so it never hurts to make new characters and try out the other classes.  I give this game a 7/10!

Badland: Phone Game

If you have the free time to spare, you should try out Badland. It’s a very beautiful game for what it is. It’s  full of mystery and adorable creatures! The goal is to get your little guy or guys to the end of the adventure without dying. On some levels, that’s harder that it seems but other times it’s quite easy.  It was hard for me to stay alive at least but I kept getting distracted by the background and the atmosphere.

The graphics, like I have said, are just plain amazing for this being a phone game. It’s full of mystery and a lovely array of colors. The puzzles themselves, are solid black with a vibrantly colored background of fantasy scene. It’s almost like you are playing a dream.

There are not many characters in the game. You play as little tiny fluff balls with wings. You can grow or shrink depending on things you touch. The goal is to get to the end of the adventure in one, or many, pieces! To do this, you fly through the levels, avoiding obstacles and the ever close scrolling screen. If you manage to get caught or fall behind, then you lose that round but you have the option of starting where you left off so it’s not a total reset. I enjoyed that a lot!

The controls are quite simple. For those of you who are familiar with Chocobo Tales, you may remember when you have to fight that underwater dragon and you have to tap your screen to move up or down to avoid being eaten by the dragon. That’s pretty much this game except you don’t really have to tap. Just hold your finger on the screen and you go up and when you remove your finger your character goes down. So the controls may be simple but if this isn’t something you are use to. Do a few practice rounds! Never hurts to practice, even if you’re good at it!

There isn’t really a story for this game but there are some cool features that I think you guys should know if you are going to play. This game uses Physics in a really cool way. The way your character moves and how objects in the level work are very realistic and if you have even a basic understanding of Physics, you will have a lot of fun!

You can play up to 70 levels of single player. Each level different more difficult but just and beautiful as the next or you can play with up to four (4) people with Local Multiplayer.  If you dn’t know what that means…Local Muliplayer are just people who are on your network playing the same game. So if you have friends who are playing the game with you while chilling in your house or an other place, you can invite them to play with you and experience this game together!

I really liked this game, It has a good amount of replay value. It is available on the Android (free), Iphone (3.99 USD) and Blackberries (1.99 USD). This game get a 9/10 Lily Points! You really need to check it out! This comes highly recommended not only by myself, but about 80,000 other people!

Feed the Beast: Minecraft Mod Pack

Feed the Beast sounds like it would be one of those simulation games that you have to feed some sort of monster, does it not? I can assure you that it is not that. Infact you may be surprised as to what it is.

Feed the Beast is actually Mod packs to Minecraft. Though the items in the game are similar to that of the Technic Pack, the game is still unique in it’s own ways.

For those of you who have played Minecraft. The idea of the game has not changed at it, but with every mod pack, there are awesome additions to the game!!!

My favorite Mod pack would have to be Forestry. This nifty little pack adds so much to the game! It adds different ores, farming and new items! The item I found the most interesting was the Bee Keeping. You build a Apiary and mate bees to get better bees then you put them in the house and let them do their magic. they can produce special saplings for different trees and Honey! I have a few houses and Apiaries set up in my tree ranch =D They’re a Huge help!

FTB also includes IndustrialCraft2. This adds Solar Panels and such to the game for more ways to interact with specific blocks. If you played Technik, then you’d understand this Mod and why its so awesome =D

Another interesting feature this mod pack has, is texture packs built in. It’s rather nice not having to take the time and finding a pack then installing it, then if it’s not right having to use the patcher and fix it and go through that huge mess. You don’t have to do it with that =D It does it for you!

There is still so much I don’t know about the scary world I’m in, but I hope to explore it all very son! If you enjoy minecraft and Technic, you’d really enjoy this =D Give it a try, you really should!!

As always, subscirbe comment email whatever =D I want to hear more from you guys =3 Follow me on tiwtter ( @unicornmuffintv)!!!

Dementium: The Ward

**** There is a spoiler in this review, If you don’t wish to have the game spoiled for you, please skip the Story section. I marked it for you guys so you can skip it! ****

You wake up, in a dark place with nothing, No music. No anything. Your first instinct is to find out what the hell is going on right? As soon as you leave the room, you notice you have terrible night vision so you pull out your flashlight so you can see further. But wait…what’s that sound?

HOLY CRAP!

This has to be one of the scariest games I have played. They did an amazing job on the design, enemy creature creation as well as the story. And to add more as to how awesome this game was to me: It’s on the DS.

You wake up in a room all by yourself with little to your name. You have a flashlight and a pistol, your goal is to find..someones daughter? Yeah, not the best goal in a game but you go with the flow.

The graphics are, to me, what made the game scary. They were perfect and as 3D as you could get. Each mob was covered in blood or scales or something spooky that you couldn’t see until they were in your light. Did I mention the light flickers sometimes?

The game play I found to be difficult at times. Not only do you aim with your stylus, the game is also realistic. You have no armor all you are wearing, I’m assuming based on the story, is a hospital gown, so you take a lot of damage that does not regenerate over time unless you find pills. Ammo is a but scarce too depending on the difficulty you are playing. Lucky for you you have the option of picking up some melee weapons to use when you run out of bullets.

Mobs and chatacter. The mobs are scary to me. They come out of nowhere. With your limited vision, even with the flash light, they can sneak up on you, out of nowhere. You’ll be walking down a hall and suddenly you’ll hear the moaning of a zombie or the weird chirping of the weird worm things. Bosses are huge, ugly and tough if you don’t know what they can do.

You don’t know a lot about who you are playing until you play the story. For all you know when you start, you could be a psychotic patient that has gone completely insane over time and you’re in hell.

**SPOILER** The story. With every scary game comes a scary story? Sure. Why not. It turns out that you are a brain surgery patient. Your awesome surgeon thinks your mind is in danger so he puts you in a nightmare where you have to fight for your life, and end the dreams. Through out the dream, there are mentions of a man who, like i said, killed his wife and his daughter. The..hell? Anyways as you finish the game it ends with a man standing over a dead woman with a gun, Police shoot and wound the man and that’s it. The end?

In 2009 however, they released a sequel to the game, Dementium II. If you liked the first game, get it.

I give this game a 8/10 spooky Lily points. If you like getting spooked, ambushed and exploring a creepy hospital get it. I enjoyed it very much, even when I jumped in my college’s hallways =D

Borderlands 2: Review and Replay

I’ve played this game since its release and I have played the expansions and each of the characters you can choose from. So there are a few aspects of this game that I would like to talk about, so let’s get started. If you had the chance to watch me stream Borderlands, then you definitely saw that I wasn’t doing as well as my Co-Op partner. That was kind of sad, but this highlights my first topic I want to review.

The controls. I had played and beat the game and its different packs rather quickly so when I decided to play another game, I didn’t go back to it. I was very rusty when we picked it back up. But after a few sessions of playing, the controls came back to me and I was once again a good addition to the team. With this said, the controls are easy to remember and use when you’re put in situations, such as boss fights and Badasses.

Onto the characters! Like the last game, you can pick between 4 characters. Each with their own unique ability that is helpful in one way or another, and during Co-Op playing, I’ve discovered if you have a commando with you, it makes the game play easier. When it comes to customizing them, there isn’t much at first. You can pick a hair style or two and some different color clothes, but that’s about it. However, as you go on with the story line, find Easter eggs and gamble, you have the chance to unlock new skins and heads for your character. Right now, I’m a bright pink siren with a Unicorn on my chest =D. I like the Cel-Shade graphics.

The unique textures it gives the game really added appeal to me. This was one of the things that kept drawing me to the game. The way everything looked in the game made me wish some of my favorite games looked like this. I honestly wish that more recent games used this type of graphics. The story was straightforward with some side quests you can do. You are this all mighty hero that has to fight a big bad guy and his minions of…psychotics? Not quite sure what to call them, but they are pretty insane.

Now, I won’t spoil anything for you, but there is something I suggest when playing. Keep the subtitles on; you’ll catch some pretty funny things the locals have to say to you. I’ve caught several people making snarky comments about the little robot dude, CL4PTP. When I first sat down and played this game to right now, my thoughts haven’t changed at all. Starting from fresh was a great idea in my books and it helped me pay more attention to what I was doing and what was around me if you haven’t had the chance to play this game, you really should.

There is replay value in my opinion. The different modes give you different style enemies to fight and it also helps hone your skills for other games, though controls may vary. The more I played Borderlands, the better I got with my other games like Halo and Call of Duty.

I give this game a 7/10 Lily Points. I enjoyed this game but sometimes it was a little over whelming when it came to mob placement and it could prove to be difficult. But a game isn’t a game unless it challenges me =D

Skywind

I’m a big Elder Scrolls fan, I’ve been one since they released their first game. One of my favorite games in the Elder Scroll Series was Morrowind. The one where you are Almalexia and you save the world from the false gods and a vampire hiding in a volcano and all of that fancy hero stuff.

For it’s time, it was a beautiful game. The graphics were “realistic” enough for me to get sucked into the game. In my opinion, it was the best game of it’s time, and nothing could compare.

That was..until Skyrim was released. This was the most beautiful game in the  Elder Scroll series. The map was pretty as well. But, this isn’t about Skyrim. It’s not even about Morrowind. Nope. This is about Skywind.

For those of you who haven’t heard of this, I’m kind of surprised. Skywind is a beautiful mix of Skyrim and Morrowind. They recreated Vvanderfell with the Skyrim engine.

With the big graphics update, and the addition of the quest line, Morrowind was reborn.  Skywind is still in a beta phase, so there are a few bugs.

If you’re interested in checking it out, there are a few things you should know about Skywind.

There are no voices, tho I don’t think this is a big since there really weren’t any voices in Morrowind. The text is from Skyrim so it’s nice and neat but it’s still a little tiresome to read the paragraphs they have,

The NPC’s..are well naked. It was a little awkward talking to quest givers while they’re chilling in the nude.  Now if you’re all for naked characters then you’re in heaven!

If you don’t think any of those will bother you, then you should really check it out. I find this to be a fun addon and can’t wait for it to complete! I’ll be playing this until the ESO is released then I’ll be playing that!!

I give Skywind a 7/10 Lily points. Though it’s beautiful and still in beta there are a few bugs that have made it a little difficult to play and I’ve had to reload an older save to fix it.
