Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper

I have always been a fan of this series. From Dynasty Warriors to now, this game has always been in my top 10. Once more, I am very pleased with it.

(Slight spoilers ahead!)

As the game starts out, you are fighting a giant hydra that has appeared. As you play through, you find the game slowly growing more difficult until you are told retreat…and the Hydra wins. As you retreat, you are confronted by a spirit who drags you into this world and tells you she can help you defeat the hydra, and basically gives you a redo. Depending on how you play, you can defeat the hydra or let History replay itself.

The actual story line as you play is heartwarming as well and exciting. You get to see what each person was doing before the Hydra came forth and set out to destroy the entire world. You help them gather points as well as Allies.  Each character had their own set of allies you can play as well as specific talents each hold. I like making custom teams and building those up. I’ve never been one to enjoy pre-made teams!

The controls, like with their other games, are easy when you get the hang on them. I found myself hitting the wrong buttons or using moves accidently due to them being close together. I’ve accidently swapped characters during a fight and it almost cost my that battle. I wasn’t very happy with that. I feel like if i had used the Wii U’s touch pad I would have done a lot better then using the actual controller. But I’ve stuck with the controller. I also found that using the Wand to be more of a pain than in the butt than convenience as I do have nerve problems and after awhile controllers hurt.

I really enjoyed this game! There were some points of it where it was difficult but the key point it had always remained fun for me.  I give this game a 6/10. Though I really enjoyed the game, Some parts were a little bugged or just kinda silly. There were just some points where I lost interest a little bit but I always managed to get back into it.

Super Mario 3D World

Save the Fairies! Bowser has taken the time to capture many fairies.  Solve puzzles, kill bosses and become a kitty in order to save the world!

A normal day starts off in the beginning of the game, but it’s never a Mario game unless Bowser takes someone and you have to save them! He ends up stealing the  Sprixie Princesses. You travel through six different worlds, each ending in a castle fight where the ultimate rewards is a Princess who then opens up a pipe to the next area.

The game play is rather simple. When you use an actual controller, it plays like any other Mario game. You can also use the WiiMote, which is held sideways or you can use to game pad. Which, if you use it wrong really messes with the camera angle and you can end up causing more troubles then being helpful, but more on that later.

This game introduced a fun item to the game. A Cat Bell. The bell is needed to solve many platforms and it’s just so darn cute! You get the ability to climb walls and attack with your claws. It’s very fun. You also have the Fire Flower and the  Tanooki leaf. Each item can be stored now as well so now you can have one of each and change when it’s needed. I really like this feature especially when I would get hit and lose my suit.

Though you can play with other people, there are some games that you will have to play alone, using the game pad. They are extra little puzzles that grant you stars and coins. The game pad, like I said before, can be used as an controller but you have to be a little careful if you are playing with other people. You can adjust the camera angle, making the game harder or easier depending on how you do it.  When I played this with my friend, he kept changing the camera angle and I kept falling off the edge!!!

I really enjoyed the music. It gave a nice feel to each level and it changed as you got further into a puzzle. It really kept my interest while avoiding Koopa Troopas and Goombas (Which, I want to add, can be kitties too). The graphics were as great as the music. You can really tell the difference on this system then with the Wii. They are more HD and vastly more detailed as well. You can see each scale on Bowser’s arm and the little tuff of fur on your kitty Toad’s head!

This is just a great game all around. I give it a 8/10. It’s easy and fun to play and it’s worth tthe hours you put into it. There is a deceant amount of replay value to the game as well. I didn’t like that the game pad changes the camera angle whenever you use it. It makes for easy trolling or accidents that can result in a lost life. Other then that, I really loved this game!!!

Pokemon Rumble U

After finally having enough to get a Wii U one of the first games I got to play was Pokemon Rumble. This game is a very fun platform game where you play as little toy Pokemon and you became lost when the person who was putting you out fell. You now have to find your way back to the toy store so you can be purchased and loves by the children who buy you.

You start off with the started Pokemon from Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, since this game was released in August of last year and X and Y hadn’t been released. As you play through the stages you “befriend” more Pokemon that you can use to clear stages.

In the beginning you use the controllers but as the stages become more difficult, you get to use the touch pad to use a huge AoE. They’re fairly simple controls as well. If you have a WiiMote, you have to hold it on your side and use 1 and 2 to attack and the arrows to move around. The regular controller is the basic A and B keys and the joystick to move.

The graphics are very colorful and adorable. They did a great job matching the background and the challenge titles together. There are a few games that don’t so this was a nice touch for me. The characters themselves were very chibi like. They had the large head and the little body, and even included their original sounds from the actual game.

The storyline itself is a little cliche and boring in some points. Zekrom seems to be the main bad guy in this game. After defeating every stage he appears and talks some depressing chitchats and then it’s off to the next level.

All in all this game is super fun when you play with friends but it’s just as fun to play alone.  Not only is it very involving it’s a great time killer. Depending on the power of your Pokemon the stages can last seconds to minutes.

This game is just super fun and it’s something you should check out!! Now sadly, this game is not free. It’s $17.99 USD and can be purchased from the Nintendo Store. It is also available for the 3DS.

I give this game a 9/10. I really enjoyed the game, but I wish there was a way to combine Pokemon to increase their powers.  That is about the only negative thing I have about this game but it doesn’t really affect the game play much.

Goat Simulator

Hey guys! Before I get this review started, I want to apologize for not posting for a few weeks. I got a new job and it has been taking up a bit of my time but don’t worry! I got into aa nice rhythm and once again I will be posting reviews!!!!

So let’s get started.

Have you ever wanted to be a goat? Living with other goats in a tiny fenced in yard with a goat castle? Of course not! You want to go out and explore and cause chaos!  Goat Simulator gives you a great insight to the might goat world! With it’s humorous takes on physics and the way a goat is, this will easily be one of my top 10 games of 2014.

You start off in a tiny pen with other goats, from there you can stay in your little enclosed area and play with the other goats or go out and explore! You can interact with many objects by licking them as well as gather up items in a gigantic ball.  Once you do the demonic Ritual, you have the option to fly. If you wish for your goat to stay pure, then you can find a jet pack. Please note, you can’t control where you fly so God’s Speed.

There is no real story. You run around, finding artifacts and destroying the entire cities with your crazy goat antics. One of my favorite things to do is to grab the ball shooter from the  batting cage and using it to shoot people and blow stuff up. It was even better in Slo mo. Watching the balls slowly hurl at something and watching what happens.

The controls are simple and easy to get a hang of. I did catch myself baahing a little bit in the beginning but that made it more fun for me. There is also a nice text to speak feature in the Microsoft SAM voice. I’ll be posting a video of it later this week about it. My friends and I had a lot of fun with this game’s feature.

I loved this game, and I feel that it is worth it!!! I give this game a 9.5/10.

Interested in the game you just read about?

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft

Another installment in the Warcraft Universe has been released earlier this month. I was lucky enough to get into the beta but sadly, didn’t have too much time to play it. Now that it has been fully released I sat down and played a little bit.

If you enjoyed any of the Magic the Gathering games, then you will enjoy Hearthstone. You start out picking your heroes which defines your deck’s potentials as well as your special abilities.  You can pick about every class there is in World of Warcraft right now, and you are then a famous person from that class. Personally, Mage decks, Jaina Proudmoore, are fairly powerful when they get the right cards. Hunter decks over power you easily if you don’t concentrate on the correct cards.

The game play is fairly simple.. You start off, like with any card game, drawing your hand and deciding if you like the hand or not. Most of the time, you just skip your turns and you only start out with one Mana gem. You gain a gem every turn so you can summon more powerful monsters.  There are a few cards that have very special abilities.  Guardians, for example, have to be attacked first, and they normally have a lot of armor, similar to a tank.

The goal is to, defeat your opponent. Simple enough when you look at the big picture. You win new cards as you progress further up the ranking, making your deck better. The PvP aspect of this game, seems to be working at a fair level. When you que up to find a player, it will most likely give you someone who is a worthy opponent, which is someone around your level, as they don’t look at decks.

Currently, there is incentive to play Hearthstone.  If you play and defeats 3 people, you are awarded with a mount. The Hearthsteed, as well as given an achievement for this accomplishment.

This  game is very simple to learn and keep up with, it is just a luck of the draw. The real complaint I have is that I had to do the tutorials again. They were a bit long, and excessive in my opinion. You can’t even play against other people if you haven’t finished them either. Instead of the 5 different tutorials they have you do, it really should be just  the one that tells you the basics.

All in all, this game is fun iif you have free time between killing Horde or raid bosses. It’s a great time killer and it is free. There is talk of it being released to mobile phones, so keep an eye out!! I give this game 6/10!

South Park: Stick of Truth

*****Before I being this review, I want to warn you that there may be words or Phrases that may be offensive to some viewers.. I assure you that everything is part of the game. I found this game fun and amusing. I do enjoy South Park humor as well. I hope you enjoy this review*****

South Park Colorado. Home to Kenny, Cartman, Stan and Kyle.  For many years we have awaited this game!! And with it’s release a few days ago, I couldn’t help but get it! So, as soon as it was done installing I started playing!!!

You start off with your character creation. There are many options you can choose for to start off with.  Hair colors and styles, different outfits. I had a lot of fun making my character. (I posted a picture of him on my Instagram) The entire style of this game is from the TV show. For those who haven’t seen the show yet. It’s a paper based Animation with little movement., Almost like a Stop Animation. They’re basically paper dolls.

As soon as you leave the house, you get to see Butters  fighting an evil elf! You help fend off the elf and then Butters takes you to The Wizard, Cartman. There you pick your Name, but It really doesn’t matter what you pick, they end up calling you Douchebag. From there, you are to pick your class. There are four to choose from. Thief, Warrior, Mage and Jew.  I chose to play a Jew, but I did get to see thief Game play and when you  get the right stats, it is very OP. Jew feels like it would be more of a support class rather than a dps class.

As you go through the story, you get more options open to you, and you are given the Title DragonBorn. (Yes, like   Skyrim) You have the amazing power to control your farts. Yeah, I said that right. You control powerful farts to help you get around the town and defeat your enemies.

Battle-scenes are pretty fun too., when you get use to the controls. I had a difficult time mastering one of the first special techniques you are given. You have your basic attacks that are as powerful as they can depending on how you play/click your mouse.  You also have PP that you can spend on more powerful attacks. For example, my character has a special attacked called “Jew-jitsu”. You have a specific amount of PP, that you can get back by certain spells/attacks, Gear and potions and such.

You find new gear and weapons all over the place. Each gear set has special buffs. There are so many sets too. There’s Elf, doctor, Alien. Just so many!! One of the better weapons is actually a Dildo. It’s pink I believe. I haven’t gotten it yet, but I can’t wait.

Some advice, whatever has a yellow button on it, you can open it. I suggest you do, to get money and to get new items. Don’t forget to look for the chinpokomon that are located all around you, they don’t DO anything but they’re pretty fun to collect. There are 30 all together.

I enjoyed this game, and there is a high replay value. If you haven’t gotten it, you really need to!!! I give this game a 9/10! This is also one of my recommended games as well!!! So go out and have fun!!

Bravely Default

I have been very excited for this game. I was lucky enough to get a chance to play this game, and I must say. This is one of my 2014 top picks.

The game has Final Fantasy feel to it, so I was instantly in love with it. The story line was well written and the players were adorable and powerful.

The game play itself is rather easy to get a hold of. You can do regular attack, Bravely attacks as well as Default/defense. When you attack with Bravery, you’re basically getting multiple attacks.  So it’s good in a lot of battles. Default is really a big defense you have. Both are on a slight cool down.  There are 23 jobs to choose from in the game and I found the Thief to be the most fun. One thing I did notice is that it can be sort of a grind fest sometimes with getting enemies and quests that can be a little too difficult for your level. I do recommend though, getting a few levels before you try to do anything. It will help you out in the long run.

The graphic aspect of this game is pretty awesome. I really liked the game with the 3D on, I found that it makes it a little easier to find your way around the city. Fighting and running in the map looks very nice in 3D as well. It is a very Anime-esk style of game like a few of the hand-held Final Fantasy Games. Each Job having their own unique outfit helps as well with feeling the job.

Once you get a hang on them, the controls are simple and mindless. You use the Stick to move, Left Bumper for Bravely and Right Bumper for Default. It’s pretty standard for a game.

I give this game a thumbs up! I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to pick it up! The intense battles and the opening of new Jobs there’s so much of this game to explore!

This games get 8/10. I felt that this game repeated itself a little too much sometimes and grinding isn’t one of my favorite things to do. But the Good outweighs the bad!!

Also, I do want to apologize for not posting a review last week. There were somethings going on that prevented me from making a review!!!

Titanfall: Beta

I have been waiting for this game for awhile now and I had the chance to play in the Beta! Now, you may be asking “Why are you talking about a Beta? What happened to the NDA?”  Well, the creators have no issued a NDA, they want people to stream, talk about and just enjoy the game! Everyone should be able to enjoy this game. This is what I plan on doing! So here we go!

If you have not had the chance to hear about this game, then you may be in for a wonderful treat! This is the perfect mix of some pretty awesome games from Call of Duty to Halo. You are in charge of a Titanfall, a giant Mecha with awesome guns and cool powers! The Titanfall has this telekinesis power you can use to stop rockets being launched at you and what not.

When not in a Titanfall, you are a pilot with a pistol that auto-locks on your targets, yes multiple targets. With one pull of your trigger, your pistol can take down multiple enemy or just a single enemy hitting all of their vital parts.

The tutorial goes into vast details about your weapons, Titanfall and how to use everything to it’s potential. I really felt like I was being trained to go on a real life mission.

Lastly, the PvP seemed very fair, and very realistic. There were some people who seemed to be cheating but that did not ruin my game at all! It was very enjoyable. When it comes to the realistic points, if you were to come into contact with a Titanfall and it was to step on you, well you’re kind of dead.

This game was very well planned out and the people who made it showed a very obviously they wanted to make a great game!

This review is slightly vague, I know, but I want you to play this game! I want you to experience everything about this game!

I give this beta a 9/10!

Pokemon Bank and Pokemon Transporter

Finally, after waiting for so many months, the Pokemon Bank and the Pokemon Transporter have finally been released on the 3DS!  This wonderful little addon is a great way to keep all of your pokemon in a nice safe spot for you to use later.  Just a quick note, In order to have access to the Bank and the Transporter you need to have the respective games in your 3ds. Pokemon X or Y for the Bank. Black/2 and White/2 for the Transporter

The Pokemon Bank, is strictly for the Pokemon X and the Pokemon Y games. You are given 100 boxes to store your caught Pokemon. To gain access to the bank, you will need to download it from the Nintendo store. The app itself is totally free, but they are adding a yearly (Yes, Yearly) charge to it. I will post a link below that goes into more details about the yearly charge. They aren’t that bad so about 5 USD to keep over 3000 Pokemon plus whatever you get from Black and White? That’s a pretty sweet deal, if you ask me.

Now, why did I mention Black and White? Pokemon Transporter, that’s why! The Pokemon Transporter is a neat little download you get from the Pokemon Bank that allows you to add your Pokemon from Pokemon Black, Pokemon White, Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 to your Pokemon x or Pokemon Y game! All you have to do is inside your Black/2 or White/2 game is put what Pokemon you want in your X and Y game they need to be in your PC Box 1 and it moved the entire box to the Pokemon Bank. To get those Pokemon, you open your bank and go to the Transport Box and they will be right there! =D

It tells you in the transporter but just in case you don’t want to read that. Any Pokemon that you transfer from any of the black and white games, will not be able to go back to that game. It will be permanently on the X and Y game. Any nick name given to the Pokemon in Black and white will be reset upon moving them as well.

So anyways, This is a fun and quick way to keep all the Pokemon (All 718 Plus some!) and become a Pokemon Master! WHOO! So go out there and Catch ’em all!!!!

Path of Exile

Path of Exile has to be one of my top games for this year! The amount of customization you can do with your characters is simply amazing. I reccomend this game if you really enjoyed Diablo!

Each character you can choose from are set with no appearance customizations. Each has their own story as to why they have been Exiles.  Some of their stories are very absurd while others are simple. I happened to choose the Witch as my character. She was made fun of and taunted in her town but as time went on she got even and stole the towns children.

Questing is very fun in this game! You get the chance to explore the area, which changes when you log in and out. There are different areas you can explore each having a waypoint so you can return to town and then return to adventuring.

Leveling and gearing up are fairly simple to do as well. You fly by levels so quick it’s hard to keep track of what level you are! In just under 3 hours I went from level 3 to level 17! As you kill mobs, gear drops. But like a few games, what drops on the ground isn’t just yours. It’s shared loot. So if you’re playing with a fried, it’s best to work out loot rules. When I played with my Friend, we ended up quite lucky as we needed different stats on our gear so we haven’t butt heads yet.

When you level up, you gain points to use in the gigantic talent tree. Each time you add a point to a branch you get more powerful or gain more health/mana. When it comes to learning spells however, you have to find gems. Each Gem is a certain color and those colors coordinate with slots on your gear. Some gems are just for stats while other increase a spell you have or just grant you an al new spell. You also get the option to level up your gems too. This increases the stats of the gems making them more powerful. YOu can also remove a gem before you sell an Item so you are not at a loss of spells.

For the size of this game, it’s very neat and tidy. The graphics are pretty well put together. You feel like you are in the area you spawn in. Foot steps in the water, trickling sounds from the ceiling. The environment is fairly interactive in the sense that if you run into it it moves or makes a sound.

All in all, this game is pretty fun. I do feel that once the game is beaten there may not be much of a replay value. But this game is Free to Play so it never hurts to make new characters and try out the other classes.  I give this game a 7/10!
