Yoshi’s Crafted World

So, I need to be honest with you guys for a minute here. Unless this is a game I have been looking forward to for a year, or know the series itself is amazing I hardly every buy a game at launch. But here I am, writing this review about a game that launched today, so you can kind of guess what happened.

Let’s start off by saying it was very dead at work today, so I brought out my switch and was like “Why not try out Yoshi, it’ll be a great way to kill time before my relief gets here so I’ll have someone to talk to. It took me about 5 minutes of playing before I realized I needed to get this game in my life. This game NEEDED to join my library…and that’s what happened. heh….This is so unlike me, and normally I’ll wait a but but I just knew, this game needed to come home with me.

So let’s start with the story, as always there’s the bad guy. In this game it’s Baby Boswer and Kamek want to have all of the gems for themselves and end up getting into a tug of war of sorts with several Yoshi causing the stone to basically say screw it and burst all the tiny stones all over this new world. So you, brave little Yoshi, get to go on an adventure and pick up all the stones before Baby Bowser and Kamek.

So here I am, picking WHATEVER COLOR YOSHI I WANT to start the game off with and they throw you into the map area, and you can see where all the stones landed. You then go through the different levels to get the stones and then ya win the game, or something like that. That seems about right hehe. I was rather shocked that I could pick between about 6 or 7 different yoshi and they’re interchangeable throughout the game. Sick of being pink? Blue Yoshi will happily take over. Don’t want to be on Mellow mode? Fantastic! It’s easy to switch.

Wait Mellow mode? What’s that you ask? It’s a easier way to play the game. You’re able to fly around a little and enemies don’t deal as much damage. I found myself wanting to use Mellow mode when I have the switch as a handheld as it was hard to for me to see what was happening around me and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to die or something like that. Ya know, being lazy haha I’m kidding. When I got home thought I did turn it off and was able to enjoy the game like normal. I do enjoy that I can swap whenever I want between modes, it helped during a few parts to not get flustered.

So each map is different and filled with so many cute decorations it was hard for me to focus at first, Everything looks like something you could make out of everyday things and I think that is one of the few things that just made this game something I wanted. To top that off, all of the costumes are unique to the zones your in and are a barrier of sorts. Each costume as a set number of times it can be hit before it disappears, almost like a shield of sorts. Once you use up all of that costume, you’ll have to remember to reequip it before the next round or you won’t start off with it (poo) There are so many costumes to collect it’s insane. The fact that they added Amiibo support expands that closet EVEN more! My Yoshi is a cute little Poochy now with the amiibo from Poochy and Yoshi’s Wooly World šŸ˜€

Each level has many different puzzles for you to figure out using your eggs, and enemies to solve them. The game gives you hints on where the flowers are, but that’s about it. Are they above or below you? Maybe in a hidden event? Figure it out man. The idea that this game had me thinking about the same level as Captain Toad was fascinating. I rarely found myself frustrated with the game. Even if I managed to die several times in a row, or get stuck, the fun factor reminded for quite awhile.

The reverse side of the maps is fun too. It’s neat to go in reverse and see the area through a while new angle. I wish I could enjoy the map more personally. I say it like that because the reverse side is a timed quest to find all of the Poochy puppies. Now, you can totally ignore the time limit and just explore but if you want the reward that’s attatched to the area, you’ll have to obey the rules. Each poochy is hidden pretty well or sometimes not at all. Most of the time it’s a little bit of problem solving to find the pup and get him safely following you with a gentle smack of an egg or it’s brethren,

Each area doesn’t feel like the last one. With new types of bosses and new puzzles it kept my interest for hours on end. I struggled very hard to put my switch down. One more level I’d tell myself, and three later I’d realize what I’ve done. With the different ways to go about the problem solving required to finish, I just never felt bored. I loved how much I had to use my poor brain that was getting dusty from Pokemon Let’s go. Haha.

All in all, I love this game, The fact that it just has you do so many things and I never felt like a total failure (there was one time but I don’t have time to get into it ;P ) I love the collection of costumes and how unique every single one is special to the area as well as events (amiibo support btw!!!) I can’t wait to unlock everything in the game costume wise and it’s paining me to sit here and type this instead of playing the game. I’ve never been drawn to a game so quickly before and I think it’s just because of all the different things you can do and they do a lot to ensure you’re having fun.

I give this game a 10/10 Shy Guys. I absolutely love this game, and I love EVERYTHING about it. I highly recommend this game to anyone that has a switch.

On a side note, I’m still working on some of the other reviews from some older games. This was just a very unexpected turn of events and I just had to get this down. I hope ya guys understand šŸ™‚

Black Clover: Quartet Knights

This is one my my underdog animes. It took me a few episodes to get into this, just my My Hero. So when I heard this game was coming out, I couldn’t help but get excited. It’s been awhile since I’ve played an Anime based game or a Japanese fighting game so I was super stoked when I got a hold of a copy.  I couldn’t wait to pop this bad boy in my PS4 and sit on the couch and play it!

So after I waited a long ass time for the game to install, and beat several dungeons on WoW in the mean time, I was excited to hit the X button (I think? Idk man controllers confuse me) and watched the credits roll and then BAM intro movie started. I was sitting on the edge of my couch right now, holding that controller watching in awe as an Anime I love came to life where I controlled what happened!

This game literally throw you into combat right as you start the game. You get a well made animation did some explaining with the story before it throws you back into a fight with Mars, and from there you fight a lot of familiar faces from the Anime like Vetto, Fana and Licht!

Each character has their own magic style like in the show and manga but to be it differed a lot from them as well. Now, yes I understand there are limitations with a controller and even a keyboard and that the wide range of spells everyone knows from the show/manga can’t be condensed into several buttons and such.. This isn’t what I’m getting at. What I am trying to say, is I noticed when I was fighting Vetto, it didn’t FEEL like the beast magic. I didn’t FEEL like he was the rhino or whatever animal that freaky dude becomes.

The same went for a lot of the other people, Asta has a few new moves that almost seem magical and Yami….for the sake of him not trying to kill me. Yami is the best IMO. He feels like what a Captain should be. I haven’t had the chance to play with many other characters but when I do, I wil revise this review. I also haven’t played online at all because I don’t have the extra funds to pay for online time. IMO waste of money, but we’ll talk about that sometime maybe.

So let’s get into the story. I had an interesting time trying to figure out when this was in the time line. But, this seems to be taking place with the anime in a sense but could also be an alternate timeline? Did they learn from Blizzard?! I hope not…at least when you play BC, it feels like your’e actually part of the story and you have to save Clover Kingdom from all of the bad stuff, but I also feel like they kind of just threw Mars in, and extra characters for the sake of having them. I’m not saying this is a terrible idea, I rather like that you learn a little bit more on the lore of the game. After all, I am the Loremaster and my learning never ceases no matter what I am playing.

I like the storyline, a lot. Like more than I thought I was going to as Blizzard left a weird taste in my mouth after WoD and Alternate time lines and yeah….But I like it. I like the new characters they added and I liked how everyone was involved someway or another and it just made it worth it IMO!

So, let’s talk about the combat. As someone that has not played on console in a long time, it was hard for me to get back in the grove of not having a mouse and keyboard to move fight ect. What made it worse is it was a PlayStation contoler, and I will be honest, besides the mouse and keyboard, I am use to the xbox controller. So I feel like I was at a disadvantage, heh. But once I sat down and got used to everything, combat was a lot easier. It took awhile for me to keep my thumb on the camera stick so at first, I couldn’t ever keep an eye on my enemies and it would cause me to almost lose! Now that’s not good for a Knight!

Boiling it down, you have a basic of 4 attacks using all of the differnet triggers then one special one that is triangle? I think that’s the shape.  Anyways, the biggest struggle for me was the use of the camera angle. Now call me Old Fashion but I dislike the full control of the Camera and to me, it causes problems. Now, thought I dislike this, I still very much enjoy the game. Again, once I got used to the controls, the game is so much fun (hell even when I didn’t get them down I was still having fun)

The last thing I wanted to talk about was the graphics. I mentioned above, I was greeted by an amazing cut scene that looked like it was straight from the anime. On top of that, it had amazing graphics both the pre combat and during combat scenes.  I was a little iffy on this style honestly, there are a few games that use it and I feltit took away from the game and what it was but honestly, I really want to say that it matched it perfectly and I loved it!

Though I had a rough start with the game  i love it! The amount of characters you can chose from and the storyline really make you feel like you’re part of the game!  This totally gets 8/10 sheep!  (I love Charmy js)

Sushi Striker: Way of Shushido DS

So this review is for the DS version of the game. I haven’t had a chance yet to play it on the Switch so I can’t really comment on it. I’m going to assume the story line is the same. But, let’s get this review started with this delicious review!!!

The story behind this game is a very unique one, a story that I could totally get behind! So, long story short, your parents went off to fight a war to make sushi available. While trying to find food, you come across a Sushi Striker of sorts who helps you enjoy the taste of the raw fish delicacy before introducing you to a Sushi Spite that helps make sushi! Suddenly you are ambushed by the Empire ( Dun dun dun) where you fight them off and learn the basics of what it means to be a sushi striker. Eventually you get your own sprite and you go off on your own to win back the right for Sushi for everyone!

It’s a healthy mix of Pokemon, Digimon and Candy Crush….something I never thought I would say in the same sentence. Like really. I honestly don’t like the game Candy Crush, but I fell in love with this game. You have to put several of the same color sushi plates together in order to empty your plate WHICH YOU THEN throw at your foe, dealing more damage the more plates you have. Each sprite has their own strengths that you can use and special skills to help you out, or really mess up your foe. I will admit, I found the healing one to be a little weak end game, but the same color attack made it easy to score a HUGE pile of plates to just chuck at my foe. Poor guy probably doesn’t even know what hit him. I mean a small child throwing plates?  Eh it happens.

It’s a quick pace puzzle type game that really strives on the excitement of the matching and throwing rather then the story. I’ll be honest, it a typical be the hero of the country and save the world from the evil government and let’s eat sushi!

This game, thought similar to games I don’t really like, honestly get’s a 9/10 from me.  I had a hard ass time putting it down when I got it and I still do now. If it wasn’t for WoW: BFA I would probably be sleeping with my 3DS for awhile before I finish the game!! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for fast, puzzles and just some cute animals!!!

First part of BFA Review

So hey guys! I am still alive sorry about that!  With the Release of Uldir yesterday, I feel like it’s a good time to review the first part of BFA. Plus, getting to explore all of the zone and most of the quest lines and the journey to 120…oh boy. I don’t even know where to start, so we’ll just kind of see where my fingers take me.

Let’s start with how I feel. I don’t feel like a hero. I feel like just a run of the mill adventurer. I mean yea….Azeroth chose us for the amulet and all of that shit but man…I understand the system is different. With the whole Global Cooldown system in place, I feel like It’s a RTS game now.  Not that I don’t like RTS, but when I need to heal and I just used a DPS attack, I have to wait several seconds to heal or even use a shield. It’s tough sometimes for me.  Now, some people may not mind the GCD system at all. But it’s frustrating, and I miss not having it.

So why don’t I feel like a hero? Shit hits hard, and you don’t hit hard enough. Now, I wasn’t expecting to be as strong as I  was at the end of Legion, but this is just silly. With the removal of spells and abilities from the loss of our amazing artifacts, it was a slight learning curve. But I got over it. It took awhile, and a lot of mourning over the loss of my bear lust. But nothing beats losing Symbiosis. šŸ™ That hit hard.  Anyways, going back to what I was saying. I just don’t feel that powerful anymore. It’s honestly a little discouraging.  Not that I don’t mind playing another spec, and being awesome. But what happened to wanting to have fun and enjoy the game? Bleh I dunno.

So, the story lines. So much gray…so much slaughtering of innocent people from the Horde. So Much damn destruction, and it doesn’t sate their needs…or seemingly.  I mean, they did burn down the World tree, and then when you help the Trolls escape you burn Stormwind. When will this stop? It was one thing to use it as a distraction, but this I don’t know. It might be because I’m a Alliance main but man, there are so many different paths they could have done to get their point across that wasn’t slaughtering innocent children and people. Like seriously.  Am I truly a hero?  I don’t feel like it.

So far, the areas are very inviting and unique. I go from slaying Cthuluhu priest to dealing with witches and then have fun hazing with drunk pirates on the alliance side. Horde you have Trolls, dead trolls, and sneks. Thought I’ve only done Zuldazar, I plan on doing the other ones to get a better idea of what’s going on. I can’t really go over my views on the Horde Quest lines yet, but I’ll add it once i get a chance to do so, so don’t worry.

I fully plan on experiencing this xpac through both sides, since each side has their own thing to offer to explain this expansion so I can’t wait to see what the other side has to offer me lore and quest wise.

So far, I’m enjoying the expansion for what it is. I have some problems with the gameplay and what’s going on.  I’ll do a review later towards the center of the expansion to kind of give some more thoughts on the new expansion.

So far, 7/10 seems right for the start of an expansion. There’s still more coming out, and still so much more to do so it’s hard to see the full spectrum of BFA so we’ll see later on!

Final Thoughts: WoW: Legion

With the fall of the Burning Legion, this chapter of World of Warcraft is coming to an end. With the rise of war and a psycho Warchief, the next expansion is dropping this week, making this one of the best times to give my final thoughts on this expansion, and my hopes for the next one.

I’m going to start with the story. You really got an in depth look into some of the Lore that was unseen between the Second War and The Burning Crusade. You get an in depth look into the Illidari as well as Illidan himself.Ā  I have always been in support that Illidan was just misunderstood, and it turns out I was correct. He did everything he could to save the world, and in the end, he sacrificed himself to end the Burning Legion. and keep Azeroth alive (well for the most part)

We also get a glance at the end of the First War, where Turalyon and Alleria went through the portal to fight of the Orcish Horde and then vanished. (At least that’s how the book ended ;P ) Well they came back, with a vengance. Seeing them, and their hatred for the Orcs/Horde was real. This is coming from someone who doesn’t main a Paladin or see’s The Light, it was fascinating to watch Turalyon become blinded by faith forcing a few and Illidan to work for the light.

There was just so much lore, and so much that filled in several holes the game had, and helped explain a few more things. To witness the Prince’s suffering and to see why he did what he did, or to help Odyn and watching the rebellion of Suramar, there was just so much it’s hard to write about it with out well, making it a lore post. Heh. But that’s for a stream ;P

So the gameplay is rather important. They added Artifact Weapons that came equipted with Artifact powers to make them powerful (which now they’re broken and useless ugh) Each weapon came with it’s own Backstpry that tied into the Lore and really made you feel special, until of course you came across another one of your class with the same weapon, but that’s an MMO for you. All in wall, once more then dumbed down the play style.

I main a Guardian Druid, as you know, and I literally only used around 6 buttons, and 2 buffs before they got rid of one with the loss of my artifact weapon. Thought I liked the idea of it being simpler to play the class, I do miss the use of stragety and a REAL rotation that I’ve had to do for years. But with the increase of new players, and the loss of the Vanilla players, I can see the why they’re going. I may not agree, but that’s just me ( I hope).

With the close of Legion. I honestly feel that I literally saved the world, and I am the hero. Well I did. So what changed? War of Thorns, the Battle for Azeroth Pre launch updates. I have never felt like I didn’t do something in the world. And the writing for this, made it really hard for me to feel like I did something. The story line really kept me into the game and it made it a lot of fun to go through the different areas and explore, capture pets and quests. It almost felt like BC for a second, before I realized I wasn’t level 60-70 and I could do what I want, when I want.

So, why do I feel this way? For those who haven’t played the pre launch and care about it, don’t go on. Please note Legion gets a 8/10 from me. I loved the lore and the game play and It’s a wow expansion. I will forever play this game until the day the shut the servers down. Don’t forget to check out Worldofwarcraft.com to check out more info about Legion as well as get your copy of BFA today šŸ˜€

Now, for those who don’t care about spoilers, here we go. As you are aware, in the pre launch Sylvanas burns downĀ Teldrassil. Now why is this a thing? Why does this make me feel terrible? Let’s start on the Horde Side. You end up killing a lot of innocent people, people you could have saved. Not to mention Syl felt like she really needed to off her own army to prove a point that she could bring back the dead and use them for her own bidding. Like really? You really needed to kill YOUR OWN PEOPLE?! WTF?!?!?!

The Alliance side wasn’t much better if I’m going to be totally honest with you guys. Sure, you don’t do as much killing as the Horde, but you’re literally left with the feeling that you’re not a hero. You couldn’t save all of the people in Darnassus. I felt like a total failure, allowing so many people to burn alive. I actually started to question if I should keep playing a Night Elf. It really hit close to home.

Blizz really hit some grey areas at the end of Legion, and those made me really think about how I felt about where I am, and who I am. I actually kind of liked it. I liked that I still am emotionally involved with this game, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. The lore, storytelling and even the people in the game keep me here.

With the close of this expansion, the doors open to a new horizon. The new areas, allied races and raids ect are exciting. So far I am really liking the two that are already in the game and I can’t wait to expedience the new ones they have lined up. The full idea of the allied races is amazing and I am anxious to see what they have planned. Holy undead maybe? Who knows, they have so much to work with lore wise, it’s going to be an interesting road.

With that being said, those are my thoughts and Legion, I can’t wait to see what BFA has in store for us, both Horde and Alliance.

FOR THE KING!

Pokemon/Ultra Sun/Moon

Another late game but here we go!!

So, this is going to be a two in one review. Let’s begin with the first game in this series, Pokemon Moon/Sun. Now this adventure takes us to the Alola region where there’s new Pokemon and variantsĀ  of Kanto (some are cool others..make me go WTF).

There are many new ways to enjoy this game, with multiple mini games to kill time as well as. There’s also the option to be a berry farmer where you and your Pokemon can raise berries to turn into the Pokemon treats and even have a chance to catch wild Pokemon who really enjoy your island so much in fact they want you to catch them.

So let’s get into some details about parts of this game I liked. I really liked the Poke Pelago, there’s a lot you can do with it from growing berries to collecting Pokebeans and random items. It’s a great addition and it’s a great way to kill time and feel like you’re doing everything you can to help your team be the best it can be. I really feel like the trainer I can be šŸ™‚

The hands on giving your Pokemon attention after a hard battle is also great. This is how I’ve always thought real trainers should act.Ā  I always felt that the more compassion you gave your Pokemon, the more they’d be willing to help you out where it counted, and I stand firm on that.

I am also a big fan of the customization you have with your trainer, and it also helps in making me feel like I’m the one in the game.Ā  The different colors and styles you can pick from really make it easy to make me a trainer. It’s great!

The idea of Ultra Beasts are pretty neat, but to be honest I really miss just having the regular Pokemon, then have the legendary and maybe a few super rare Pokemon. I think they could tone it down a little big because I feel like 700+ Pokemon is like whoa. Too much. I still remember the original pokerap. So let’s go!

Now, let’s get to the negatives I have. I miss the gyms. I miss training my Pokemon and REALLY feeling like I’m winning. I mean, I get what they’re going for but I just don’t feel like I’m making a big impact as I did when I’d fight gyms leaders and win. I kind of miss that feeling.

The tutorial is also awful for veteran players. Who wants their hand held for hours before being “set free” only to get caught by another hour or so of cut scenes with little to no action. I just I don’t know. I’m not sure I’m a fan of what direction this series is going. I’m a Pokemon fan, and I’m always going to be one. This was the first real game series I was into when I was a child and maybe this is my own fault. But I’m old school.

The story line is well I’m not sure….one person goes completely crazy and tries to take control of Pokemon for their own schemes and then you foil their plans and be the hero. Copy and paste almost every other Pokemon game.Ā  But I personally had more questions then I did answers. Like what really ARE the ultra beasts and why are they so damn special? Eh…..

So now about Ultra Sun and Moon? Please re-read the review and let’s add 20% different story adding new bad guys and new mysteries and the ability to collect stickers to get big Pokemon. That’s it. Worth it? Eh….Debatable.Ā  They only REALLY added a new organization that’s supposed to explain what’s going on from another perspective.

So I mean, I’ve played and beat this game, and I do enjoy it. I’m anxious to see what’s going to happen and how far this series goes what are they adding to it.

I give this game 7/10 Pokebeans!

I really like Pokemon, but I feel like they dumbed down these games. Now I wish they had options to skip tutorials or stop holding hands so much. But, that’s just me. I just miss the challenge from the older games. And that seems to be gone to me. I don’t really have motivation to keep playing after I defeat everyone.

Super Mario Oddesy

There’s going to be several reviews for some older games on here for a few weeks. I apologize in advanced :3 Forgive me >.<~<3

Man, I really don’t know where to start with this game.  I also mean this in a good way. This is a game that has gotten a lot of hype over the year and every Mario and Nintendo fan was waiting for the next real Mario game. I mean let’s face it. Mario and Rabbids was alright but no replay value and RTS FPS? Really? Sorry, we’ll do this at a different time…really. I promise.

So, I want to start this off with the controls, because I feel like I can spice things up a little with chaning the order I do review, but I want I also want to make this a topic that you should cnsider when getting this game…It really uses the Joy Cons the way they were meant to be used with out taking away from the game itself, but fear not as you can also use the Pro Contoller, Hari Pad and any other sort of device on your switch without losing a lot of the aspects of Cappy and his sick tricks!

So, going back to the actual controls, you can control what Cappy does with a flick of a wrist or even a push of a button, you have all of control. To do a sick spin, move your wirst one way, to do a sicker spin move it the other way. I feel like they really used the Joycons and I feel like it made the game more fun.

There’s a decent amount of puzzles and problem solving in the game as well. Figuring out how to get the extra moons and get from one area to the next kind of makes you think. With the many different ways you can use Cappy, it makes the game a lot more fun and added elements that just make the Mario games more rich and fun to play.  I like games that make me actually THINK instead of “this is your objective. go here. Good gamer. Here’s your treat”

So, what does Cappy do? Boy…let me tell you. First, he gives you the option to jump on him, throw him spin him ect ect ect. But the most important part if you can use Cappy to take control of other creatures or objects!! The video with the T-rex with the mustache? Real. Mario turning into a ball of energy? Real. Goomba? Yes. Frogs? Ribbit! Almost everything living (or electrical) can be Mario! I love how unique this is and how literally every creature has it’s own powers and ways to play. Bravo guys! This is an amazing element to the game!!!

I will admit, I didn’t use any walk through or stuff during my initial play through. I wanted to experience everything in the raw. But when I got stuck, I was amazed on how many things I MISSED while playing. Luckily you’re able to go back and do them. Phew! With so much to do after you finish, this game was well worth the 60 USD and much more!

The story line is really the same as all of the other Mario games. Peach gets captured and you have to save her ect ect ect. I mean you get to crash a wedding and if you get the Peach Amiibo you can have Mario is a wedding dress. So that’s pretty fun. There’s not really much more to the story. I mean you meet Cappy and he tells you about the Odyssey and how it’s powered and what to do. But then it’s straight back to “Save the Princess Mario!”

All in all, I loved the game. I still do. It’s one of the few Switch games I own currently and so far I don’t regret it. Hopefully that won’t change šŸ˜€

I give Super Mario Odyssey 7/10 moons. I love the challenge, the puzzles and the game play.  It’s a fun game with decent replay value and so many hidden things you have to explore! Check it out!

South Park: Fractured but Whole

It feels like I’ve been waiting three years for this amazing sequel to join my life and give me hope great offensive games are still out there. I mean, not that I got old of running around as the King and farting on everyone and being a master of everything. But I’ve been waiting for this game for quite a long time and I’m happy to have it.

I don’t really want to get into too much plot details because I don’t want to spoil this masterpiece for you guys, but I do have to talk about some bits. But I do have to talk about some bits, do bear with me.

Cats have gone missing in the town with ample parking day or night and it’s up to Coon and Friends to find the missing cats and defeat Chaos in the process, but you aren’t invited to play.  šŸ™ But what is the King to do? Crash the super hero party, duh.

You start off getting your super powers, at the time there are three to choose from. I went the Blaster Route which seemed to hit quite well but you also have Speedster and Brutalist. Each class has it’s own perks like the Speedster can get two moves while the Brutalist can bash your face in. Each class from then on just adds to the excitement that is the combat system.

As you progress through the story you unlock more and more classes which give you quite a bit of customization when it comes to Who are you Douchebag? Who are you really? The classes range from close combat to Ranged with heals. I’m a tank/Ranged DPS Personally so I went with the ranged healing classes I could find. I rather enjoy kicking butt at a safe distance and then healing any damage I, or my group takes.

Did I say excitement? I really do mean that. Sometimes though, I will admit, it got very repetitive and when more enemies jump into the fight I did get frustrated but all in all I rather enjoy this combat system. Each character and NPC brings chaos lava and macaroni Star of Davids to the fight to aid them in the fierce battles a head.  To go into the combat more….let’s start with the battlefield. It’s a grid based system much like you would see when you are playing a table top game. Each player has a set amount of moves and their attacks have a certain range. For those “casting” attacks, the areas are marked on the field so you can easily avoid them or cause some friendly fire šŸ˜‰ Healing in this game is also a lot more fun and almost every class has some sort of heal or can use all the items to heal you or a friend. The best part is YOU control your team!

The NPC’s in the battle also act like they are being controlled by a human, scrolling through all their attacks and find the perfect one to destroy you with….or at least try. Bravo guys! This was most def a very imersive system!

The last thing I want to comment on combat wise were the ultimate.  During combat, you have the option after every enemy hitting you, you hit a button and gather power for an ultimate that any of your party can use. One can be used for a major DPS attack, a giant heal or a cute Guinea pig in  Pirates hate. You decide!!! This made me pay attention a little more in combat phases, though sometimes I would drift off.

So let’s get back to the story. Like the last game, there are a bunch of side quests you can take to help  get you into the game more as well as enhance it. I rather enjoyed all of the little things like finding the drug lords and collecting all the Yaoi (I just wish there was a gallery for the pictures, some of them were too cute.

The mini game were a lot of fun as well, mastering the toilets and doing some fancy Fartkour really made this a SP game if you ask me. The crude humor is here to stay and it’s nice to see that all of my neighbors are their usual selves and nothing ‘s changed in the 3 days (years?) since the installment. I really enjoy this game, though I’m not sure if there’s replay value. I’d love to toy around with all the classes and everything but we’ll have to see.

My only real complaint about this game is the fact that there is a season pass. I get it, this is the direction that video game companies are headed and frankly, I find it distasteful. Now you’re probably saying to yourself…SELF, I know she plays WoW. They release stuff for that you have to pay a lot of money for. And you’re right, reader I do. But when in my honest opinion. If it’s a MMO, I’m fine with paying to expansions ect. But if the game has 0 online interaction, why would I need to buy a season pass? There’s no point? I don’t know, but this grinds me gears.

Give me back the days where when you buy a game it was the full game not the “Full” game plus season passes and micro-transactions out the asshole..

But enough standing on my soap box, I’ll save that for my blog.

My poor Fractured butthole enjoyed the time I played, and I recommend this to anyone looking for a fun way to kill some time while you’re waiting for Assassin’s Creed or CoD WW2. This and Shadow of War are good fillers for the next round of games.

Dispite my issue with the season pass, this game get’s a 9/20 Yaoi. I really enjoyed this game but I ended up making an active effort to avoid combat due to the fact it got boring when you did it very often. I loved the story, the characters and just the over all view of this game.

Gears of War 4

The long awaited installment of the Gears of War series is finally here! Omg! šŸ˜€ Iā€™ve been waiting for a redemption. Judgement was a terrible place to end it! UGH!!!!

Alright so, letā€™s get this started!!!

A new story with new foes and new characters really help you immerse yourself into this game. I like the idea of playing J.D but at the same time, it was so great to see Marcus again. The idea is that the locust have returned but seem to be fascinated with kidnapping people from towns and doing whatever with this (turns out they were messing with their DNA or something and making the Swarm BUM BUM BUMMMMM)

Now, the storyline is short but very intense. You play as JD, who left the Cog and with the help of his friends, try to find out why the Swarm is taking their family and other humans. There you run into Marcus again and then a big mess appears and itā€™s just more fun to experience the fun at this point!!

Combat is very straightforward, and you rely on cover to make sure you donā€™t die. The accuracy of the weapons is always great and itā€™s nice to find a bad ass weapons laying around after you slaughter your foes, and thereā€™s nothing bad with a little blood on your boots.

Now, they do add some horde mode esc type deals in the story line as well. You have to set up certain things to help the story a long. A turret here, a barrier there. You are literally only as strong as your weakest link and itā€™s a make or break situation when itā€™s there!!!

The real awesome thing is the Multiplayer modes :O They have added a portable energy station so you can literally pick the best spot possible and that you are READY for the foes who dare threaten your life ecte ect.

Besides Horde Mode, thereā€™s a few new things they added to make the PvP in this game really competitive and really make you work your noggin to be the best (Like no one ever was DUN DUN DUN..To…wait, wrong game)

Now itā€™s also worth noting, there were some issues I ran into while playing. The major one was there were some situations where events didnā€™t trigger which left me to redo a chapter or an  area and it lead to kind of a boring experience. But who knows, maybe itā€™ll get fixed in the future That’d be awesome!!!!

This is a def. 7/10 cogs. Though I really enjoyed the game, the bugs kinda killed the game for a me a little. Now, donā€™t get me wrong. Iā€m going to keep playing it and until i finish all the levels, but the bugs turned me away a little. But itā€™s def.a noteworthy game šŸ˜€

Tom Clancy’s The Division

Another installment in the Tom Clancy series was released a few weeks ago. So, why is this review coming out so late? I had a lot of games on my list to play, so this review got pushed back a little. I apologize. Def. not something Iā€™m happy about but it was something that happened. Before I start this review, I want to warn you there may be spoilers. So be warned!!!!!!

I know what a lot of you are probably thinking. But Uni, we havenā€™t seen you stream this game at all!! I know. I want to add that I am not sorry about it neither. Why? Because all youā€™d hear is me cussing and fuming haha. But that doesnā€™t mean I donā€™t stream other games.

So what is the Division? For those who havenā€™t seen or heard anything about it…the Division is a story about a virus mutation that took over NY and Brooklyn. You were a sleeper agent that was woke up to help the situation.

Who are you Agent?

The first thing I was to start with is the Character Creation, or lack thereof. I get it. I really do. I mean you donā€™t SEE the face of your agent all the time, but there are more CLOTHES in the game then Hair styles. The hell is up with that? Iā€™m not asking for full customization but I want more.  LIke, I was aiming for a Panda Agent. And the face paint isnā€™t as dark as I want it.

But enough about looks. You can customize your guns as well. I rather enjoy having a bright pink, bright turquoise and bright purple gun. I feel empowered.

Taking small arms fire! SMALL ARMS FIRE!!!

Guns. Theyā€™re things you fill with bullets and shoot enemies, or if you like it, other players. Thereā€™s a lot you can actually do with the firearms in this game. From Mods, skins and shooting. I feel like itā€™s realistic for the most part. The reverb is there as well as shock.

The mods you get and help improve your aim, damage, stability among other things. I enjoy my Vector right now, now if I could replace my second gun that would be grand. Pistols are pretty much useless in my opinion. They donā€™t do a lot of damage so thereā€™s no point in having them, besides theyā€™re required for whatever reason. I would love to carry around another machine gun instead of a pistol, but whatever. Who needs three Useful guns? Not Agent Panda.

Many Agents go into the Dark Zoneā€¦.not many come out.

There is a place called the Dark Zone, or as I call it, the place for people to be a piece of shit. The idea of PvP in this game is very welcomed. I like the fact that I have the OPTION to kill another player and steal their loot. But thereā€™s a difference between wanting their loot and being a troll.

For the time being. The Dark Zone is end game. So thereā€™s not a lot to do besides the daily missions. The dailies are repeats of quests you did during the story line but at a harder difficulty. This to me is very welcomed. I like being challenged. I like fighting harder NPC and the change at Phat Loots. I mean who doesnā€™t enjoy loot? No one. Thatā€™s who!

Now, letā€™s get back to the Dark Zone. The DZ is in the middle of NY, itā€™s the center of attention at end game. The NPC are a lot harder and require more skills. Skills? Why skills? If you accidently hit another player while fighting NPC, well guess what. Youā€™re Rogue.

Now, a Rogue agent are those that go against what they were trained and kill other Agents. From what I gathered, sometimes Rogues are cool, other times theyā€™re real jerks. Iā€™ve come to the point where itā€™s best not to pick up loot until you can extract them immediately.

All in all, itā€™s a Tom Clancy game. I liked the story, I liked the game play. My only actual complaint about the game is the Dark Zone. As it sits right now, thereā€™s no punishment for the players who cheat and use cheats to go rogue. That takes the thrill out of the Dark Zone. I liked running around in a ā€œtrust no oneā€ mind set. Now Iā€™m scared of my own shadow because I finally get this upgrade and BAM! Itā€™s all gone.

This game is going to get a 6/10. I enjoyed the game, but the Dark Zone kind of killed the score of this game. People cheating the system for gain, is wrong. I will revisit The Division when the xpacks come out, if i get them, Itā€™s a little iffy now. But who knows. Thereā€™s always tomorrow.  Or is there?
