Final Thoughts: WoW: Legion

With the fall of the Burning Legion, this chapter of World of Warcraft is coming to an end. With the rise of war and a psycho Warchief, the next expansion is dropping this week, making this one of the best times to give my final thoughts on this expansion, and my hopes for the next one.

I’m going to start with the story. You really got an in depth look into some of the Lore that was unseen between the Second War and The Burning Crusade. You get an in depth look into the Illidari as well as Illidan himself.  I have always been in support that Illidan was just misunderstood, and it turns out I was correct. He did everything he could to save the world, and in the end, he sacrificed himself to end the Burning Legion. and keep Azeroth alive (well for the most part)

We also get a glance at the end of the First War, where Turalyon and Alleria went through the portal to fight of the Orcish Horde and then vanished. (At least that’s how the book ended ;P ) Well they came back, with a vengance. Seeing them, and their hatred for the Orcs/Horde was real. This is coming from someone who doesn’t main a Paladin or see’s The Light, it was fascinating to watch Turalyon become blinded by faith forcing a few and Illidan to work for the light.

There was just so much lore, and so much that filled in several holes the game had, and helped explain a few more things. To witness the Prince’s suffering and to see why he did what he did, or to help Odyn and watching the rebellion of Suramar, there was just so much it’s hard to write about it with out well, making it a lore post. Heh. But that’s for a stream ;P

So the gameplay is rather important. They added Artifact Weapons that came equipted with Artifact powers to make them powerful (which now they’re broken and useless ugh) Each weapon came with it’s own Backstpry that tied into the Lore and really made you feel special, until of course you came across another one of your class with the same weapon, but that’s an MMO for you. All in wall, once more then dumbed down the play style.

I main a Guardian Druid, as you know, and I literally only used around 6 buttons, and 2 buffs before they got rid of one with the loss of my artifact weapon. Thought I liked the idea of it being simpler to play the class, I do miss the use of stragety and a REAL rotation that I’ve had to do for years. But with the increase of new players, and the loss of the Vanilla players, I can see the why they’re going. I may not agree, but that’s just me ( I hope).

With the close of Legion. I honestly feel that I literally saved the world, and I am the hero. Well I did. So what changed? War of Thorns, the Battle for Azeroth Pre launch updates. I have never felt like I didn’t do something in the world. And the writing for this, made it really hard for me to feel like I did something. The story line really kept me into the game and it made it a lot of fun to go through the different areas and explore, capture pets and quests. It almost felt like BC for a second, before I realized I wasn’t level 60-70 and I could do what I want, when I want.

So, why do I feel this way? For those who haven’t played the pre launch and care about it, don’t go on. Please note Legion gets a 8/10 from me. I loved the lore and the game play and It’s a wow expansion. I will forever play this game until the day the shut the servers down. Don’t forget to check out Worldofwarcraft.com to check out more info about Legion as well as get your copy of BFA today 😀

Now, for those who don’t care about spoilers, here we go. As you are aware, in the pre launch Sylvanas burns down Teldrassil. Now why is this a thing? Why does this make me feel terrible? Let’s start on the Horde Side. You end up killing a lot of innocent people, people you could have saved. Not to mention Syl felt like she really needed to off her own army to prove a point that she could bring back the dead and use them for her own bidding. Like really? You really needed to kill YOUR OWN PEOPLE?! WTF?!?!?!

The Alliance side wasn’t much better if I’m going to be totally honest with you guys. Sure, you don’t do as much killing as the Horde, but you’re literally left with the feeling that you’re not a hero. You couldn’t save all of the people in Darnassus. I felt like a total failure, allowing so many people to burn alive. I actually started to question if I should keep playing a Night Elf. It really hit close to home.

Blizz really hit some grey areas at the end of Legion, and those made me really think about how I felt about where I am, and who I am. I actually kind of liked it. I liked that I still am emotionally involved with this game, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. The lore, storytelling and even the people in the game keep me here.

With the close of this expansion, the doors open to a new horizon. The new areas, allied races and raids ect are exciting. So far I am really liking the two that are already in the game and I can’t wait to expedience the new ones they have lined up. The full idea of the allied races is amazing and I am anxious to see what they have planned. Holy undead maybe? Who knows, they have so much to work with lore wise, it’s going to be an interesting road.

With that being said, those are my thoughts and Legion, I can’t wait to see what BFA has in store for us, both Horde and Alliance.

FOR THE KING!

Farcry 5

Man, I don’t know where I start with this game. I’ve been talking about it for so long I really started to get nervous that Ubisoft could release a good game. Now that is all, of course, up to debate. So, what I’m going to do, is something a little different from my other reviews, so stick with me here.

The Ugly:

So there’s not a lot, in my opoion that’s wrong with this game. There are some glitches to where a Co-Op groupie can’t interact with items so you end up losing out on a lot of loot, or the ability to help your friends.

There is also, currently, a bit of a server issue. That may be causing the loot glitches, but I’m not sure. Honestly, it was a blast watching my friend take down a whole place by himself while I was struggling with the D/C. He was lucky to have Boomer though.

The Bad:

So, this is stuff that are in the game, but they don’t hinder anything yet I don’t know why they’re there.

Microtransactions: So this is in the game, but I really don’t see why? It’s rather easy to get money in the game. So I don’t see why people are throwing a temper tantrum about it.

My next complaint is about Boomer, HE DOES NOT SIT SHOTGUN! UUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! Why!! It’s not fair to watch him run behind a car/truck while I’m driving off 🙁

Random cut scenes kind of get in the way.  Now, they do add to the story, but when I’m in the middle of killing all of the bad guys, I would really like to finish the fight before I’m dragged away. Just saying.

The Good:

Man, this is going to be the best part, so thank you for humoring me with this review. I wanted to get the bad stuff out first because there’s a lot more good!

This game is very beautiful. Sometimes I struggle to remember if I’m in a game or if it’s real…I’m rather impressed with the graphics and just the over all appeal of the story and just over all environment!

The game play is similar to the other Farcrys.  So, it’s easy to get used to once you start which really helped with getting into the story.  I will say I was a little rusty at first but I got back into the groove quickly.

Let’s start with the story. So yes, it’s a typical here’s the bad guy you need to stop them blah blah…..but when you sit there and actually pay attention, it’s quite awesome. It’s really involving when you listen to the background conversations and then follow the main story line. You really get both side of the it when you play through and I will admit, it’s very immersive.  If I honestly had the choice, I would probably join Eden’s Gate. 100%

Now, the weapons are expansive and unique. You have your standard pistols, shotguns Machine guns ect ect. But the real quality lies in the melee weapons.  Why is this a good thing? Dude, metal pats, hoes, shovels ect. I mean there’s so many different object it just makes it so much better to play how you want to play, which leads to the next point…

You can literally play however you want.  With the different NPC’s you have (my personal favorite is Boomer) and the weapon variety you can be whatever you want.  You can be stealthy, or just go in an fuck shit up. Whatever you want it’s all you!

I could literally go on and on about every topic, but I really feel like this is something you guys need to check out. So far this is a top game for the year that I’ve had the time to play!

This gets 9/10 sinners.  Even with all of the down sides, the good notes make it a lot better. I must say, this is one of my favorite games!  So I recommend this game to everyone who isn’t scared of the fbomb or crazy God loving cultists.

I have a few more games in my list and several more to add here shortly. But yeah…

Skyrim Switch Edition

So boy, I don’t know what I was expecting with this title. Skyrim has been so over done with remakes, re-releases, and the faint hope there may be another TES game in the near future vanishing.  But, nevertheless, I went in to this with positive mindset before it slowly changed to a “what am I doing with me life”  and curled under my sheets and sighed.

I personally don’t believe this should be a thing. Yes, Skyrim is a great game, worthy of all of it’s titles and mods ect. I don’t believe it should be a thing on the switch, or next gen. consoles because WE NEED A NEW TES GAME! Stop beating a dead horse and put out the next game please, Bethesda! PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU! Nocturnalsave me if it’s coming out on the DS I’m gonna…*coughs* Sorry. I’m composed now.  So, back to this…game.

It’s Skyrim. That’s about all you need to know story wise. Same stupid intro scene, same dragon trying to kill you all, same choices as to who to follow and same quests for the most part from what I’ve played. There’s not much more to say about this. If you’ve played Skyrim you’ve well played Skyrim.

So what’s different that made you regret your life choices, Lily? Quite a few things. Let’s start with character customization. Everything was preset, nothing was truly customizable.  Perfect example, if you know me then you know that I play Khajiit. Tsa’Musa is my baby and has been since the Khajiit was a playable race.  I’ve tried to make them similar because I mean why not? Anyways! Back to the review! There was around 4 colors to choose from, 6 different eyes (3 colors with 2 different pupils) and 8 Hair styles (4 different cuts and same cuts with different earrings). When you go to customize the face, it’s literally all preset noses, mouths lips ect.  So, I mean I get it. It’s a tiny port, you can’t add everything. But still could have literally added more colors, more pupils ect ect ect. :/

So now, let’s talk controls! Holy Laggy joycon Batman! It was so difficult to move, fight and jump. It was really sad. I mean every other game I’ve never had problems with, but it just seems like this was a rushed, messy port and just needed some more love. It had the potential to be fantastic and a great way to slay the dragon’s while on the toilet or hiding in the back room being the best Dark Brotherhood Assassin in all of Tamriel.

All in all, I took it as a mobile game. But I didn’t expect it to be toned down THAT much. This game needs more love. It really does.

I give this game 7/10 Sweet Roles. I’m partial to Bethesda, and TES games. But I’m disappointed with everything else with the game that made it Skyrim. So please, Bethesda. TESVI TESVI TESVI TESVI TESVI TESVI TESVI !!!!!!!!

Want to try this out on your switch? You can go to most retailers and purchase it , or if you think you’re going to just purely love this game, you can purchase it  from Nintendo directly: https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-switch

South Park: Fractured but Whole

It feels like I’ve been waiting three years for this amazing sequel to join my life and give me hope great offensive games are still out there. I mean, not that I got old of running around as the King and farting on everyone and being a master of everything. But I’ve been waiting for this game for quite a long time and I’m happy to have it.

I don’t really want to get into too much plot details because I don’t want to spoil this masterpiece for you guys, but I do have to talk about some bits. But I do have to talk about some bits, do bear with me.

Cats have gone missing in the town with ample parking day or night and it’s up to Coon and Friends to find the missing cats and defeat Chaos in the process, but you aren’t invited to play.  🙁 But what is the King to do? Crash the super hero party, duh.

You start off getting your super powers, at the time there are three to choose from. I went the Blaster Route which seemed to hit quite well but you also have Speedster and Brutalist. Each class has it’s own perks like the Speedster can get two moves while the Brutalist can bash your face in. Each class from then on just adds to the excitement that is the combat system.

As you progress through the story you unlock more and more classes which give you quite a bit of customization when it comes to Who are you Douchebag? Who are you really? The classes range from close combat to Ranged with heals. I’m a tank/Ranged DPS Personally so I went with the ranged healing classes I could find. I rather enjoy kicking butt at a safe distance and then healing any damage I, or my group takes.

Did I say excitement? I really do mean that. Sometimes though, I will admit, it got very repetitive and when more enemies jump into the fight I did get frustrated but all in all I rather enjoy this combat system. Each character and NPC brings chaos lava and macaroni Star of Davids to the fight to aid them in the fierce battles a head.  To go into the combat more….let’s start with the battlefield. It’s a grid based system much like you would see when you are playing a table top game. Each player has a set amount of moves and their attacks have a certain range. For those “casting” attacks, the areas are marked on the field so you can easily avoid them or cause some friendly fire 😉 Healing in this game is also a lot more fun and almost every class has some sort of heal or can use all the items to heal you or a friend. The best part is YOU control your team!

The NPC’s in the battle also act like they are being controlled by a human, scrolling through all their attacks and find the perfect one to destroy you with….or at least try. Bravo guys! This was most def a very imersive system!

The last thing I want to comment on combat wise were the ultimate.  During combat, you have the option after every enemy hitting you, you hit a button and gather power for an ultimate that any of your party can use. One can be used for a major DPS attack, a giant heal or a cute Guinea pig in  Pirates hate. You decide!!! This made me pay attention a little more in combat phases, though sometimes I would drift off.

So let’s get back to the story. Like the last game, there are a bunch of side quests you can take to help  get you into the game more as well as enhance it. I rather enjoyed all of the little things like finding the drug lords and collecting all the Yaoi (I just wish there was a gallery for the pictures, some of them were too cute.

The mini game were a lot of fun as well, mastering the toilets and doing some fancy Fartkour really made this a SP game if you ask me. The crude humor is here to stay and it’s nice to see that all of my neighbors are their usual selves and nothing ‘s changed in the 3 days (years?) since the installment. I really enjoy this game, though I’m not sure if there’s replay value. I’d love to toy around with all the classes and everything but we’ll have to see.

My only real complaint about this game is the fact that there is a season pass. I get it, this is the direction that video game companies are headed and frankly, I find it distasteful. Now you’re probably saying to yourself…SELF, I know she plays WoW. They release stuff for that you have to pay a lot of money for. And you’re right, reader I do. But when in my honest opinion. If it’s a MMO, I’m fine with paying to expansions ect. But if the game has 0 online interaction, why would I need to buy a season pass? There’s no point? I don’t know, but this grinds me gears.

Give me back the days where when you buy a game it was the full game not the “Full” game plus season passes and micro-transactions out the asshole..

But enough standing on my soap box, I’ll save that for my blog.

My poor Fractured butthole enjoyed the time I played, and I recommend this to anyone looking for a fun way to kill some time while you’re waiting for Assassin’s Creed or CoD WW2. This and Shadow of War are good fillers for the next round of games.

Dispite my issue with the season pass, this game get’s a 9/20 Yaoi. I really enjoyed this game but I ended up making an active effort to avoid combat due to the fact it got boring when you did it very often. I loved the story, the characters and just the over all view of this game.

Craft the World

Ever wanted to control dwarves and have them do weird things and listen to cute chatter? Then look no further that Craft the World! This neat little side view game is one of my favorite games of the year!! With that being said, let’s get into this!!!!

To me, this is the perfect mix of a few things from Minecraft, Terraria and Dwarves. I really like all of the aspects of this game with regards to the combat styles, the mining and the crafting. I did run into a few bugs, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the game kind of. It was a game breaking bug in a sense but I will get more into that later.

So, here you are, at the starting portal where you are given a couple dwarves to do your bidding. That’s right, for the most part you are in total control of these people and you can tell them to dig, build eat sleep etc ect. The possibilities are only as limited at well….about 5 maybe 6 items. They can be rather dumb and not get the hint the first time, but their cute little banters and language always got me interested and made me want to learn their language so I can hear them talk bad about me. 😉 Of course, being the almighty one, I am sure I can dish out a nice plate of whoop ass on them.

So. let’s get into some of the aspects of this game, we’ll start with the two that kind of work together, and that would be mining/digging and building/crafting. Each can require training and or pure luck they don’t kill themselves. Though it’s very much fun to watch some of them struggle with the aspect of a ladder or sometimes even using basic tools, it’s more efficient to have a dwarf that’s trained in special abilities to help out when needed. The end game, is literally to craft the best weapons, defeat the waves of undead they send your way, on top of defeating the end boss which is from what I’ve seen very difficult and super skeleton scary. You basically need to find the books which grant your dwarves either levels in a trait, or give them that trait to help you with the end goal, the choice is really yours…

Now, combat is entirely RNG on top of being super frustrating. I can’t tell you how many times I sat there and yelled at my dwarves for being huge scaredy cats for no reason and almost got the base destroyed because they couldn’t handle one little zombie. I couldn’t even imagine what they would do if they met the end boss with them being scared. Now I know in life it’s a literal fight or flight type deal, but when all they do it flight. It gets very annoying. But with that being said, this ties into eating and sleeping. IF there is an enemy in the area, they will stand outside and do nothing but literally complain about being tired and hungry. When you tell them to go eat or sleep they will flat out refuse. Like typical games, when there’s enemies nearby you cannot do certain things.

This is where my beautiful big came in. I was pretty far along in the game when I couldn’t get my guys to sleep or eat. It kept telling me there were enemies in my borders but when I would move around and check them, my bordered would be completely empty, not even a rats nest! My poor guys were almost dead and I had another Zombie Wave coming in 4 minutes and there was nothing I could do but watch my poor guys run for their lives and watch the base I worked so hard for get destroyed by these damn undead! I had to restart my game at this point because no matter what I did, I couldn’t get it fixed. My new game is totally better and I haven’t ran into that problem again so here’s hoping this game is better.

So, I mentioned eating and sleeping. These are both things that you need to keep them up on because they can starve on top of they will not regenerate health. That is something very crucial to this game if you want to survive to the endgame. But there’s nothing you can really make that will do the same thing as food so they have that going for them.

So all in all, I actually rather enjoyed this game minus the fact that I did indeed need to restart my game after spending a few hours on it. I didn’t lose THAT much but it was still rough losing all of that hard work for some dumb glitch.

THe game was easy to follow and really explained things to you as you went on your way. I wouldn’t say that it held your hand, but it walked you through a lot, then would let you go then would come back. I never felt like I would truly be lost in this game.

I give this game a 7/10 dwarves. Though the game is a nice concept I can only build and fight so many times before it looses it’s luster. When you play with other people it’s a competition to see who can beat the bad guy first and you can’t work together on it. The glitch I experienced was also a little frustration but I got over it quickly when I started fresh.

I recommend this game to anyone who has some free time to kill as you can pause the timer and do other things. It’s most definitely a time killer. But it’s fun and that’s all that matters!!

Gears of War 4

The long awaited installment of the Gears of War series is finally here! Omg! 😀 I’ve been waiting for a redemption. Judgement was a terrible place to end it! UGH!!!!

Alright so, let’s get this started!!!

A new story with new foes and new characters really help you immerse yourself into this game. I like the idea of playing J.D but at the same time, it was so great to see Marcus again. The idea is that the locust have returned but seem to be fascinated with kidnapping people from towns and doing whatever with this (turns out they were messing with their DNA or something and making the Swarm BUM BUM BUMMMMM)

Now, the storyline is short but very intense. You play as JD, who left the Cog and with the help of his friends, try to find out why the Swarm is taking their family and other humans. There you run into Marcus again and then a big mess appears and it’s just more fun to experience the fun at this point!!

Combat is very straightforward, and you rely on cover to make sure you don’t die. The accuracy of the weapons is always great and it’s nice to find a bad ass weapons laying around after you slaughter your foes, and there’s nothing bad with a little blood on your boots.

Now, they do add some horde mode esc type deals in the story line as well. You have to set up certain things to help the story a long. A turret here, a barrier there. You are literally only as strong as your weakest link and it’s a make or break situation when it’s there!!!

The real awesome thing is the Multiplayer modes :O They have added a portable energy station so you can literally pick the best spot possible and that you are READY for the foes who dare threaten your life ecte ect.

Besides Horde Mode, there’s a few new things they added to make the PvP in this game really competitive and really make you work your noggin to be the best (Like no one ever was DUN DUN DUN..To…wait, wrong game)

Now it’s also worth noting, there were some issues I ran into while playing. The major one was there were some situations where events didn’t trigger which left me to redo a chapter or an  area and it lead to kind of a boring experience. But who knows, maybe it’ll get fixed in the future That’d be awesome!!!!

This is a def. 7/10 cogs. Though I really enjoyed the game, the bugs kinda killed the game for a me a little. Now, don’t get me wrong. I”m going to keep playing it and until i finish all the levels, but the bugs turned me away a little. But it’s def.a noteworthy game 😀

World of Warcraft: Legion

The next, in my opinion, EPIC AWESOME STELLAR expansion came out for World of Warcraft! Now, I wasn’t a big fan of the past two expansions and frankly, I was about to just full on stop playing because I mean, come on. Alternant time time? What’s up with that bull crap!!!! And going back on the whole “We’ll never make Panda’s a playable race.” PFFFFFFTTTTT!!!!!!!!!

Now, this may be my inner fan girl screaming, but when I saw that Illidan was going to be a part of this expansion I instantly felt the hype. I mean full on 1000000000% was into this expansion. But then, I had to start thinking like an adult. Was this game going to be worth it? Was it another Alternate timeline? What was going to be in this game? There were a lot of questions, that didn’t have a lot of answered when this game was revealed.

So, let’s get into the story line a little bit. Gul’Dan decides he isn’t awesome enough and tries to go after Illidan (Squee) and ends up dying or something of that nature. While, the Emerald Dream gets corrupted with the NIghtmare (that’s some Kingdom Hearts shit right there) and of course. Heroes! We need you to save the world and things!!!!

I’m all for this expansion, for quite a few reasons, and have been suggesting this to veterans and new commers a like. The game is great in the fact it’s a new area, a new op class as well as new raids. If you’re all for the MMO aspect of the game, you may be pleased with the return of players, both new and old and young and gnomes. Bleh, gnomes….

Anywhooo….there are so many new things in this game, that it’s a little hard to actually talk into detail about every single thing, but I’m going to start with the fanciest of the things.

Artifact weapons. Now, I know what you’re saying. Look, LIly. I get it. It’s the all mighty weapon that I’ll use for a few levels then I’ll get rid of it for this epic lootz that drops from this boss.

Nope. The artifact weapon is literally only as good as the time you put into it. You get Artifact power and runes that empower them and give you special perks. The best part about these weapons is that they each have a neat little background story that helps tie them into lore. Though some of them are fatfetched. A lore master like myself, can appreciate them a little bit and I was excited to learn about the new pieces.

Demon hunters are now a thing. You fought one back in Burning Crusade. But now, you ar eable to play them and be a tank or DPS. Now, I know what a lot of people thought, it’s another DK scandal. To be honest. Yes. There are a lot of people who are playing Demon hunter. Yes, they are a little OP and can do a lot of shit solo. But, at the very same time. For the moment being, it’s pretty neat being an acrolyte for Illidan and helping stop the legion from pouring into the world until…..*the next is spoiilers so I wont talk about them* (edit, since legion has been out for awhile I will add that you get captured by the wardens only to be released to help save the world and you get to prove your worth to the world)

Class halls/Order Halls

So this is a literal copy and paste from the Garrison in WoD. After they promised us it wouldn’t be. I do feel a little lied to with this. I mean come on. I don’t want to do this shit! The only way to make your weapon epic…Class hall shit. Only way to get certain quests you need: Class hall shit. Come on Blizz. Is this really something you wanted? Like really.

To not fly in this game…is terrible. The landscape is so beautiful! I can’t believe I literally cannot enjoy it by flying! I mean this is my major complaint every single expansion, but it’s so easy to hit a hot key, turn into a bird and fly away to get the next quest ect ect. But I guess as long as they add it soon I can be ok with this. Plus, Flap is a thing. Google that. Balance Druid: Flap.

New lands, new NPC, new raids.

This is going to be a neat thing to talk about because I am actually happy to see some of the old lore play out. My favorite thing is that they have Odyn and Helya and Fenrir and all of that awesome stuff into this area. They play real heavy with the lore that is in the main lands and such and it’s nice!

No more Yrel! Thank GOD on this one, I mean like seriously. I couldn’t be happier. I skipped and jumped when I left my garrison only to return for my pet balttle things because of my collection addiction 😉

But really. I am OK with this expansion. A little sad I haven’t seen Illidan yet, but that’s OK. I’m sure he’ll appear…for now it’s OK.

My heart, does go out to the Anduin. I’ve never really wanted to actually hug any NPC before. Like really mean it. But him. I really needed to. *I wont go into details since this game just came out* (Edit: yeah well…It still hurts to talk about it :?)

All in all, this is one of my favorite expansions besides The Burning Crusade. I’m happy with it and can’t wait to see what direction Blizzard takes it!

Legion get’s a solid 9/10 Demon Souls

Creativerse

Creativerse

Creativerse is just one of those games that you use to kill time. A Minecraft Remake, it adds new lands, creatures and adventure to your gaming history.

I rather enjoyed the game, but I finished the story line in less than a day and it left me yearning way more.  It is an early access title, so I will be keeping my eye on it 🙂

You start out at a spawn point with nothing in your inventory except a note…In my opinion, a super creepy note written by someone I don’t know that told me to run away from home and hopefully I’d survive in the wilderness.

Yes, you read that right. You’re a runaway. A runaway. I mean you’re literally a little kid alone in the woods hoping to survive the night. How? Why? No idea. It’s literally one of those things where you’re scared to question it, but at the very same time…WHAT’S WITH THE NOTE MAN COMMON! What’s in the note?!?!?!

The beauty of  the game.

The beauty lies with the blocks in this game. Everything is unique and different and not pixelates. It reminds me of Trove, but with more details. From the Bark on the tree to the spots on the giant crabs. This game is a great remake of classics and I think does some sort of Honor to the genre, for those who just do vanilla graphics and doesn’t touch mods. (JS!!).

The total amount of detail spend on this game is pretty nice. I can tell what dirt is, dying grass, logs animals. I’m not sitting here like “Hm this looks like water, nope it’s a hole annnnnnnd I’m dead. Crap.”

Taming, mining and farming. Oh my!

There’s a lot more to this game then surviving your first night. You can Thrive! If you follow me on Instagram (link in my contact section) You’ve probably noticed me posting picture of things I’ve tamed. Taming is HUGE in this game if you can’t find the right materials in a timely manner. If you know me, then  you know I’m all about taming and farming and being one with Nature. Heh.

Taming creatures is beneficial only if you’re looking at drops. Right now, they don’t fight with you. But all creatures are tameable. If you have the health, patience and the time 🙂

Farming is a bit fun. You gather Turnips, melons cabbage and wheat, grind them into seeds and Vu la! Food. Food that can be made into sandwiches, soups, weapons, bombs. Or you can just feed animals that like the veggie. That works too. When you feed your tamed companion, you can later harvest them and get what they would normally drop plus a few extra things. Who knew a sammich would be useful!

Oh where to start with mining….Mining.  It’s just like it sounds. YOu start off mining wood and dirt. Ooo. Exciting. You have to mining a mining tool, that attaches to your wrist and sucks up stones and other things. I will admit, this is pretty neat. No more running around picking up blocks for me! Nope! This is when my only real issue with the games comes in. To advance, you have to FIND materials to make the more advanced tools. And I had a hard time finding the elements i needed to go on. I still trudged on tho and got to the third mining level, but then that was it. I was heartbroken.

It may have just been luck, but that’s what made me change to my farmer-self that I know and love.

To play or not to play?

Though this game is in early release, there are bugs and a short story. I’m sure as they start adding to the game, it won’t be a let down. The game has the exact same aspects as Minecraft. There’s the surface layer, then you mine down and you get to an end layer called, Corruption. There are tougher creatures there to fight and phat loots.

Personally, I found it harder to gather materials, and was happy that i had a team with me. Like with some games, I ended up being the supplier of foods and good, in exchange for weapons, armor and mining tools.  Which I’m OK with. It was still super fun, I got to follow people to the Corruption and just plain enjoy the game 🙂

I give this game a 7/10. I do suggest to you guys, to give the game a try. If you don’t like it, you’ll only be out on time 🙂 It’s free to play! So common! Give it a gooooo!!!!!!

ARK: Survival Evolved

Hey everyone! Lily here, finally! Sorry about the stupid long absence. A lot has happened since my last review…The big thing was I did lose my job, so we’ve had to concentrate our time with other things, but it seems like stuff may be calming down now. I have the time to sit down and write a review for you guys!

With that being said. I was to let you guys know I am in the process of opening a tiny little online store to sell some nerdy things. From Earrings to Phone Charms! Whoot! I’m also looking into expanding my reviews to a few other areas, but that’s for another post!

So let’s get this bad boy out!

Ark is one of those neat little games that you either love or hate. It’s still in a beta stage, so there are some buggies and glitches but for the most part it’s easy to see where the game is going. But this review isn’t going to go on and on about those, because in my eyes, this game has SO much more to offer it’s players!!!

The Game Play

Imagine a world where you build homes, famr your materials and ultimately tame the biggest most bad ass dinosaur around. . I know what you’re thinking. “LIly, come on now this is Minecraft on steroids in prehistoric times” Pft…way to be a kill joy…

Though this game has characteristics of Minecraft, it is it’s own game with the respect…THERE ARE NO DINOSAURS IN MINECRAFT! (Disclaimer: Mods don’t count!) Now, this game isn’t all about dinosaurs now. There is so much to do, and even more to explore! But be careful. It is a dangerous world out there. One that can and will kill you without a second thought.

Curiosity can be a deadly thing in this game. Death isn’t something to take lightly in this game, and I’ll touch base on that a little alter. When it comes to ARKS, oh boy name of the game, you will want to check them out. With good intentions too. They have better gear, plans and other objects you’ll need to progress further into the game. One huge problem we came across is a lot of the ARKs in the spawning area, were wayyyy too high level, and eventually went to waste. It was so sad

Death in this game, is a serious deal. It’s very easy to lose yourself in the game and find a hungry velociraptor that wants to make you it’s next meal.  When you die, you lose everything. Clothes, gear, weapons, food. Everything. You do though, have a set amount of time to retrieve your items. Failure to do so, and you can kiss your work good bye.  🙁

But Lily, why is this such a HUGE deal? I’ll tell you guys why. It takes a lot of time and work to collect items, and a lot of concentration to realize, hey these berries are going bad in 30 seconds what do? Or you spend HOURS collecting enough materials to finish your little tiny hut to protect yourself against dinosaurs and the cold.  But one wrong move. Blip. Everything you gathered, crafted made. Gone.

No matter where you put food, it will always spoil. At least, that’s what we had an issue with. It made it hard to survive starting out, and tame some bad ass dinosaurs to run with us. ( I will always remember you Fluffy! You fought well beside me!)

Let’s get into taming dinosaurs really quick before. Depending on the type of Dinosaur, you either have to use precious meat, or common berries. I use the term precious because a dinosaur can be level 2, and kick your ass back to the pre-metazoa age. BA BAM, Science. Ok back on topic…meat and berries can and will spoil even if you feed them to the dinosaur. The time it takes to tame? Depends on the level from what we found. A level 3 dinosaur, once you knock it out, took us up to 20 minutes (this is real life time!!) to tame. I had time to collect some items, kick the dinosaur a few times, and finish building my house before I had a nice Triceratops following me around wanting to murder anything that touched me.

I lost that Triceratops….I got ambushed by two velociraptors. They killed me first, then killed him. Oh…I was so sad…..

How’s the game feel?

The graphics for the most part are fantastic and beautiful. You could see the dinosaur eyelids, the veins in the grass. Oh this game was so pretty.  I posted a few pictures on my Instagram of Fluffy. You can see every scale, claw and tooth on that bad boy. There were a few things that clipped and kind of floated….Floating grass seemed to be a big thing in this little grove we found.

I found myself, lost a lot and totally focusing on the game. I knew it was a game but at the same time, I just wanted to see everything I could in there. I will say though, this is one of the better visually appealing games I’ve played in awhile.

Now, when I said that I found myself lost in this game, it wasn’t the graphics alone. The sound effects in the game also drew me in. From the bird chirps to the sound of my impending doom (raptor calls), I just felt like I was in the forest. I was on the beach. I was getting eaten alive. I think you get the picture. Though a lot of the sound repeated, it was easy to identify the dinosaurs, and made calling out to my friends easy.

“Hey, Trombones, Raptor ahead, let’s go this way” or “Oh hey! Tire, I hear a turtle! Let’s kill it for food!”  #justdinothings

What do you think of the game?

Well, with everything being said. I like the game. The idea of losing progress is something that would technically happen in the real world. The idea of taming dinosaurs to have them hunt with you and eventually irde is one of the best things about this game. I’m not a biig fan of the time it takes to collect items to make shelter, fires and other things needed to basically stay alive, and the amount of stuff it takes to maintain them…you can kiss exploration goodbye sometimes. All in all, I liked the game, and can’t wait to play again. My ultimate goal, is to be a Raptor Queen and kill everyone in my clan, I mean path. I mean….oh who am I kidding. No one would mess with raptors.

I give this game 6/10. I liked the game, but losing hours of progress all because a level 2 dinosaur snuck up on you when you’re level 20 isn’t fun. I was literally scared to leave the Brotto (I didn’t name it)  It’s easy to lose, but at the same time when you get what you need it’s  easy to be ahead.

Elder Scrolls Online

I have put off this review for awhile for a few reasons. Though I am a big fan of the Elder Scroll series, this game has been sweet and sour for me and I know I needed to make a review and try very hard to be non bias. This review is so late after the release due to the fact, I didn’t feel good about paying for a subscription to a game that I may not want to continue playing. So, let’s begin yes?

ESO is the next big thing, it’s what Skyrim should have been but that’s another story. Now, the Story for ESO is rather short. I came into this game knowing it was NOT going to be like the other Elder Scrolls games. So I wasn’t disappointed with the fact it’s literally NOTHING nothing the other games.

***SPOILERS****

Molag Bal has made a plan to bring Oblivion and Nirn together to create a giant hell. With all of the Chaos, Three groups formed to capture the Imperial City and the White Gold tower. High Rock, Sentinel, and Orsinium stand as one, united under the rule of the High King in Wayrest. Valenwood and Elsweyr have forged an alliance of their own with Summerset, while Black Marsh, Morrowind, and Skyrim have formed a third. And then there’s you, picking your side and your story.

Character Creation and Classes

Like Oblivion and Skyrim, the character creation can take a single click of Randomize or it can take hours to create the perfect character you want. I’ve played Khajiit since I started ES and I was happy I was able to recreate my little kitty in ESO.

Once you get that task done it’s time to select your class. There’s four you can choose from, unlike the customization you had with the other games. You have the Dragonknight, Sorcerer, Nightblade and Templar. Unlike the other games, each class has a set number of points you get with 3 unique skill lines. Each class has their own set of roles as well. For example, as a DragonKnight you can role as a tank or DPS. Sorcerer can be Heals or DPS. It just depends on your style of play. I happened to start off as a Nightblade since My Kitty was always a sneaky lil bugger. The class wasn’t what I expected. I assumed I would rely more on stealth than I actually do.

Game play: Is it worth being a MMO?

ESO is a typical MMO with a few issues along the way, that I will get into later.

The controls are simple and you have to know what to do and where to look to get some of th default hot keys for the game. I got the imperial edition so I was also given the white horse which you could level at about anytime you wanted but There was no guide on how to use it. When I looked it up, all I saw was buy it for a gold and then it’s yours. Turns out I had already learned it and I ended up wasting all of my gold to fire out all I had to do was hit H.  This wasn’t actually a big deal. The PC controls are like that of the game with the fun fact it’s in MMO form.

With PVP and Solo play there isn’t much you can’t do. LIke the other games you have the option to join the guilds, steal and have a great time….when you’re alone. Once you join a party is when things start to get interesting. Unlike many other MMO’s out there today, even if you’re in a party you find yourself working Solo instead of together. Even with Dungeons, you had to rely on yourself more than others to get the job done. So I ask, what’s the point in being an MMO then? If you can’t work with your group then why?

Support and final thoughts:

I will give this game kudos on their support staff. They are friendly and will work with you to get your account back in working order. I had some issues with my Beta account and I was unable to get my game tied to it. Working with a staff member, I was able to get my Beta title on my new account, thus able to get the pet.

With all of the things I find annoying in the game. It’s still a good one. I think I had a bit of a head start with my mindset that this wasn’t another ES Game, and that it was going to be different. I am super excited to revisit some areas I played with in games and see what they have done to make them different to match the time line.

With everything being said, I give this game 7/10 Skooma. It’s a typical MMO with hopes of you playing Solo. As much as I can see the effort made to try to make it so you can play with your friends. But if I wanted to play by myself, I would pick up Skyrim or Oblivion.
