Lionheart Tactics

I have always enjoyed real time tactic games and this is one of the better ones I have played this year. It’s a free to play game and I feel like I would pay for this game if it came to it, that’s how much I enjoyed it.

The storyline to me is a bit cliché. You are a knight that has to fight an evil presence with a group of people. The more people you gather the more you can do when you fight. You have the option to pick melee classes and some ranged ones. If you plan right you can make the best team. I personally use two melee and two rang with a healer.

In enjoy the fighting style and how the turns work. It reminds me a lot of Super Mario RPG and Final Fantasy Tactics. You start out in a map that you can literally move which ever way you want to get a better view of your enemies and the map to better plan your attack. Once you finish your move it is the enemy’s turn. Whenever someone gets a hit off, there is a retaliation. Sometimes that’s a make or break moment.

When you reach a certain limit you have to combine other heroes to make the ones you want to use stronger. I have noticed this becoming a huge part of mobile games. Combining different heroes to make a certain things and people stronger. So is this a new trend or something? What ever happened to good ol’ leveling?

The graphics are crystal clear. I feel like they’re fit for a PC they’re so clear. I found it hard to put my Shield down. This game was both graphical intriguing as well as easy to play. Its all tap and slide.

This game is enjoyable both gameplay and graphic wise. I had a lot of fun playing it and this will be in my top 10 in January! Don’t miss out on the great chance to play this game OK? If you love tactical games then you should try it out!

I give this game a 8/10. I wasn’t a big fan of the story it was too cliché for me. I did enjoy how you play the game and the different types of game play.

Mario Kart 8

I’ve been a big fan of Mario Kart for years now, since I was about 10 years old. I was first introduced to the Series in the N64 and I fell in love with it. Once I got Toad, there was NO stopping me! Except for Rainbow Road…Yeah that was pretty hard!

With the new installment of Mario Kart, you get to travel to different locations, both new and remastered, and race some old friends and some new ones. Like with each game, the goal is to win the race in 3 laps.  I must say, to actually have the time to sit down and place this, I realized how much I actually miss the other games.  I fancy using the Game Pad instead of controllers (something that I don’t recommend for multi player as the tiny screen splits off and it’s harder to see) so that it’s easier for me to see what’s going on. The Game Pad also lets you see where others are on the race track as well as the score, and of course my favorite part, the horn!!! The controls are easy to get use to, only took me about 1 minutes. A is accelerate, left bumper is item ect ect.

One of the things I found interesting if when you play with more people, the NPC’s get more intelligent when one person is doing better than the others, they don’t tend to go after the better player but seem to harass the players who are following behind.  I feel it to be an incentive to whoop butt, but of course when you start to, the NPC shut you down…Oh well! Just means you have to be first next time!!!

The graphics, oh my gosh, are awesome. N64 Rainbow Road remake is so beautiful. I loved it back in the day but I really love it now! The course itself is still like it was, a wee bit difficult but once I got my grasp, it was a piece of cake! I especially enjoy the looks the characters give when they pass or hit you with an item. Sometimes they are just too funny it’s hard to concentrate on the next race.  For a kids game, they put a lot of time and effort into making it both visually and audio appealing. There is no sound that I don’t like in this game, as there have in the past.  I’m very happy with this game!

Mario Kart 8 is not only a fun installment to the Mario Kart Series, it offers a bit of Nostalgia for those who have been a loyal follower, and an exciting new game for those who are new to the series. I enjoy this game when I have the free time to kill or just to relax with some friends.  The NPC intelligence is very nice but can get super annoying, especially in Multi Player. I love the graphics and music! They’re unique to each Track. player and NPC!

I give this game a 8/10!

A Stanley Parable

This is a  game where you are controlled by the voice in your head.so many ways to choose your fate.  The perfect way to end the work week.  I rather enjoyed this game.

You play as Stanley-number 427, a brain washed man who loves his job, or so he thinks.

You begin in your office and there is no one there, that is when youre introduced the voice that tells you where to go and what to do. There are a few different ways you can play.

If you choose to follow the voice you remain a brainwashed person, who does end up “leaving” the office and you are free to live your life…or are you? You are then brought back to your office, given the exact same paths You were given before.

If you choose to not follow your mind, you begin the story. You play a long for the moat part. Go up and down a hall way open doors. Over time the voice in your head gets very upset with you and “restarts your life” over and over again, trying to.get you to listen.

I won’t say anymore about the storyline as I.dont want to spoil Anything for you guys.

The controls were very easy to.use. WSAD to move and click on the mouse to move, but wait….when you mose click..it creates a keyboard sound? Am…am I really dreaming? Or is this reality…..

This was a fun game. Listening to your mind talk was funny at times. I give the game a 8/10! This was a genuinely a fun game. If you get the free time you.really should check it out!

Super Mario 3D World

Save the Fairies! Bowser has taken the time to capture many fairies.  Solve puzzles, kill bosses and become a kitty in order to save the world!

A normal day starts off in the beginning of the game, but it’s never a Mario game unless Bowser takes someone and you have to save them! He ends up stealing the  Sprixie Princesses. You travel through six different worlds, each ending in a castle fight where the ultimate rewards is a Princess who then opens up a pipe to the next area.

The game play is rather simple. When you use an actual controller, it plays like any other Mario game. You can also use the WiiMote, which is held sideways or you can use to game pad. Which, if you use it wrong really messes with the camera angle and you can end up causing more troubles then being helpful, but more on that later.

This game introduced a fun item to the game. A Cat Bell. The bell is needed to solve many platforms and it’s just so darn cute! You get the ability to climb walls and attack with your claws. It’s very fun. You also have the Fire Flower and the  Tanooki leaf. Each item can be stored now as well so now you can have one of each and change when it’s needed. I really like this feature especially when I would get hit and lose my suit.

Though you can play with other people, there are some games that you will have to play alone, using the game pad. They are extra little puzzles that grant you stars and coins. The game pad, like I said before, can be used as an controller but you have to be a little careful if you are playing with other people. You can adjust the camera angle, making the game harder or easier depending on how you do it.  When I played this with my friend, he kept changing the camera angle and I kept falling off the edge!!!

I really enjoyed the music. It gave a nice feel to each level and it changed as you got further into a puzzle. It really kept my interest while avoiding Koopa Troopas and Goombas (Which, I want to add, can be kitties too). The graphics were as great as the music. You can really tell the difference on this system then with the Wii. They are more HD and vastly more detailed as well. You can see each scale on Bowser’s arm and the little tuff of fur on your kitty Toad’s head!

This is just a great game all around. I give it a 8/10. It’s easy and fun to play and it’s worth tthe hours you put into it. There is a deceant amount of replay value to the game as well. I didn’t like that the game pad changes the camera angle whenever you use it. It makes for easy trolling or accidents that can result in a lost life. Other then that, I really loved this game!!!

Bravely Default

I have been very excited for this game. I was lucky enough to get a chance to play this game, and I must say. This is one of my 2014 top picks.

The game has Final Fantasy feel to it, so I was instantly in love with it. The story line was well written and the players were adorable and powerful.

The game play itself is rather easy to get a hold of. You can do regular attack, Bravely attacks as well as Default/defense. When you attack with Bravery, you’re basically getting multiple attacks.  So it’s good in a lot of battles. Default is really a big defense you have. Both are on a slight cool down.  There are 23 jobs to choose from in the game and I found the Thief to be the most fun. One thing I did notice is that it can be sort of a grind fest sometimes with getting enemies and quests that can be a little too difficult for your level. I do recommend though, getting a few levels before you try to do anything. It will help you out in the long run.

The graphic aspect of this game is pretty awesome. I really liked the game with the 3D on, I found that it makes it a little easier to find your way around the city. Fighting and running in the map looks very nice in 3D as well. It is a very Anime-esk style of game like a few of the hand-held Final Fantasy Games. Each Job having their own unique outfit helps as well with feeling the job.

Once you get a hang on them, the controls are simple and mindless. You use the Stick to move, Left Bumper for Bravely and Right Bumper for Default. It’s pretty standard for a game.

I give this game a thumbs up! I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to pick it up! The intense battles and the opening of new Jobs there’s so much of this game to explore!

This games get 8/10. I felt that this game repeated itself a little too much sometimes and grinding isn’t one of my favorite things to do. But the Good outweighs the bad!!

Also, I do want to apologize for not posting a review last week. There were somethings going on that prevented me from making a review!!!

Anna

Before I begin the review, I would like to apologize for posting late for not only my review but for my video. I have been very busy with the holidays coming up and I ran out of time and that’s why I’m sitting here now typing a review. Heh. So let’s begin shall we?

If you are looking for a game that really tests your mind, this is the perfect game. Anna is definitely a different type of game. It begins with you in a fenced in yard with a building that is obviously abandoned.  There is a puzzle to do about everything in this game. So it really makes you think. I got stuck a few times. They’re not very obivious puzzles like most games. You have to actually explore to get things done and you always have to check the what you least expect to be helpful to you.

The graphics are quite beautiful. The detail they put into everything really amazed me. When you interact with something, the effect it has or causes were very realistic. I felt like I was actually in the game playing. Literally everything do you causes something to happen in the game. Even a simple step causes grass to bend, ripped in the water, dust to stir. It’s very awesome!

The controls were very easy. I was use to them early on in the game and nothing was out of the ordinary. I did find that sometimes it was a little hard to move items in the game and target them but once I figured out where I needed to have my cursor, it was a piece of cake!! Hmm…Cake.

There were a few times where the game caught me off guard. You can be minding your own business and trying to solve a puzzle then your screen will flicker and a weird figure appears then it vanishes, like nothing ever happened. Sometimes you may hear a weird noise like something falling but when you turn around, nothing happened at all. Are you going insane? Who knows. But I do know that I jumped out of my chair a good amount of times with the “scary” things they threw at you. I won’t go into much detail because that will ruin the game. But just be prepared to get scared!!

The puzzles, like I said before, can be a little difficult. A good example is, to get into the Sawmill, you need to solve a puzzle on the door. The pieces are hidden somewhere in the yard that requires another puzzle to open. You also have to find items that you can use to move other items so you have access to new areas or create new items. It’s really a hit and miss sometimes. But if you don’t do a puzzles you might not have access to other parts of the game or even get items you’ll need later. It’s  a very detail oriented game. So look under everything you can!! You don’t want to miss out on the spooky scary stuff that awaits you!!!!

You control what happens. That’s right. You can decide what happens by how you act in situations. If you don’t do something, it may change the outcome. If you don’t explore an area or even read a book, that can change what happens. There are 8 different endings that can happen, and you decide what one.

This game, is available on Steam for $9.99 USD. If you are wanting a game that messes with your mind and makes you think, you need to check this out. I really enjoyed the game! And it even gave me some weird dreams afterwords too!!! I give this awesome game 8/10 Lily points!!!

Plants vs Zombies 2

Plants vs Zombies 2 has finally been released! About time, am I right? I downloaded the game on my phone for free and gave it a whirl while my car was getting worked on, and I kind of liked the game.

It’s almost like the older game but with new, fancy plants and dressed up zombies. I was super impressed with this little mobile game! My only real complaint with this game is that is really overheated my phone and sometimes it didn’t respond well to my commands. I’d end up digging up the wrong plant of not using the plant food when I really needed it, thus losing the level.

The game is visually appealing and the sounds and music go with each stage rather well.  For being played on a tiny screen, I wouldn’t mind staring at this game for long periods of time. It didn’t hurt my eyes at all. The voices they added for the zombies were nice too. Very soft speaking zombies that aren’t yelling. I really enjoyed that. Not a huge fan of the loud screaming Zombies. I did find the Neighbor and His Car to be rather annoying. They popped up in dumb times and the “voices” they had made me end up muting my phone. I’m all for the “rabbl rabbl” of the human but they made the car beep in high pitched tones and so often that I couldn’t stand it.

I found that in some of the levels, I had a difficult time trying to get my defense up before 2 hordes of Zombies were headed my way. It was pretty intense and left my flustered at the end. This game, is a little more harder than the first game. But not so much that it’s near impossible to beat. I just had some problems with a few of the levels that just liked to throw what it could at you. But, if it wasn’t for certain plants, I would have probably just spent some money and make my army.

It’s just really nice of Popcap to release a free game, and have it be free and mean it. When I say that the game is free, it’s free if you own an Android phone, sadly, if you own an iPhone, you will have to pay 99 cents for the game , bummer… There are a few games out there that say the game is free but when you need something that can save you or help you progress to the next level you have to pay so much money for a single item that isn’t real. How lame is that?  I like that they gave you an option to buy everything now or just play and unlock it. So. if you don’t like playing the game all the way through, you have the option of buying, with REAL money, all of the plants you can unlock during the story game play. You can also purchase buffs like, Plant food, as well. they did a nice job with that! So Kudos!

With all said and done, it’s a well put together game that I do enjoy playing. It’s a great time killer and a way to distract yourself. I now prefer the game to be played muted, but if the constant sound of a car horn is one of your favorite sounds then TURN IT UP! =D  I do recommended this game though =D  It gets a 7/10 Lily points =3 Check it out! As always though, please subscurbe for updates. I do post a review every money. I also post a new video on my Youtube every Friday and I stream games every saturday! Trine 2

An evil is awakened and only 3 people can save the world. A Knight. A Wizard. An Assassin. Three people who have worked together before to stop this evil have been called back together to save the world from the new evils that have been unleashed!

This is a 1 to 3 person platform game. You can choose between the three heros, each having a special power. The wizard can move items with his magic. Moving things can help solve puzzles or help you advance to the next level. Now, if you are not into Wizards, the Assassin would be a good second choice. She has the ability to shoot a grappling hook to lift herself up. It’s an easy way to avoid certain dangers. The knight…um…..

The graphics are beautiful! They’re colorful and cheery as well as dark and scary. The puzzles really bring the scenes to life and make them more important. A leaf can be used to move water or help you bounce to the next area. You really have to look at your surroundings and figure a way out.

Though the game is soloable, I still liked having someone play with me. We always make sure that one of us plays the Wizard and the other the Assassin. The knight is pretty much useless. His skill tree is decent but not really anything useful. He has a shield and a hammer. That’s about all he brings to the story. But if you have a 3rd person that wants to play and enjoys being a useless meatshield, then here’s the class for them =D

There is a lack of customization minus the spell tree that each character has the gives them specific talents that can be used in battle or in a puzzle. The trees are easy to understand and use that there’s not a lot of guessing as to what to take and when. You can build a very strong versatile character and be just total kick ass .

I really liked the music, it fit with the scenes well. They added emotion as well as excitement to each level, boss fight and puzzle. The sounds from your weapons, water and surrounds were also very realistic. Some sounds you can tell when they were made on a computer, but these sounded like they went out and swung a sword, dripped water and dropped metal boxes.

I found the controls a little hard to get in the beginning and some of the areas were difficult to maneuver. Sometimes you over jumped, got stuck in silly places or were plain unresponsive. Once you get use the the controls though,  the gameplay was quick and smooth.

There’s not a lot more to the game. The quest objectives are straight forward and fairly easy to obtain, and there is some moving away from the general platforming that is in the game. There are secret areas hidden in every level that can take some figuring out to do, but don’t give up. They’re normally very helpful rewards

If you are interested in seeing or playing this game for yourself, it is available on steam for $19.99.  http://store.steampowered.com/app/35720/

I give this game 8/10 Lily points. It’s good for a playthough every one in awhile but to replay it right away isn’t going to bring out a lot of new content or fun =3 Still though, it’s more fun with others!

Super Monday Night Combat

I can’t begin to think of where I want to start with this game. It’s just that awesome! I think I will begin with what the game is, that’s a good start.

Super Monday Night Combat or Super MNC for short is a third person Shooter meets Dungeon Defenders. You can pick from a few players if you just start the game, and you have the option to purchase new characters, upgrades outfits ect with real money or money you gather and earn as you play. Your goal is to protect your money ball from insane robots that will jump at the opportunity to destroy you.

You get to build turrets as well as shoot the robots. I prefer the assassin they have which is an up close and personal fighter, which can be a bit problematic at times due to the fact some of the robots hurt..really really bad.

The game play is quite simple, and it didn’t take me too long to get the controls down and be a super awesome killer. I didn’t have any lag at all with the settings on high. Another thing I should mention is that it is an Unreal engine game. So you know it has to be awesome =D

There are several different types of characters you can pick when you first start. You have a general gunner, a touch tank type gunner, an up close and personal fighter and you also have a healer. Each character has a few different weapons you can choose from as well as some different moves and character specific talents you can choose from. For example, The Assassin has knife for close comabt and a Shuriken Shooter for ranged fighting. For specialites, she has a super jump, a cloaking device, and a smoke cloud. You also get a pretty awesome finishing move if you get the right timing.

As the levels go on in the game, it gets progressively harder and harder to keep the ball up in the air and away from robots. We played the game with just 3 people and when we got to the giant chicken round, we didn’t fair too well as there were too many robots for our turrets to handle, and we were all up on a different platform trying to kill the chicken. However, you can invite up to 9 people to play with you or against you, depending on your style. We felt like if we had more people we could have done ok. But all in all it was fun and a good laugh.

The graphics were pretty cool for how simple the game is. The effects for the weapons, when you summon or repair a turret as well as the robots were pretty awesome. I really liked them because they were simple but still pretty awesome. When you lose, your ball explodes into so many coins and a weird guy dances on top of it, taunting you. Haha…Yeah the guy kind of gave me nightmares but anyways!

The music is pretty cool too, it’s upbeat and really keeps you in the mood to want to play more. I did have to turn it down a little though because I found that it overpowdered EVERYTHING. I had a hard time hearing my Skype call as well as when a character calling for help.

Over all, it was a super fun game and something we will play when we have some time to spare. It has a decent replay value as you can unlock things by just playing the game and earning coins. And another awesome note about the game: TOTALLY FREE!!!!!!!! All you need is a steam account =D How freaking cool!!!!

Overall, I give the game 8/10 Lily Points. The game is as pretty as it is difficult and the fact that you can play to unlock is a really cool feature =D If you want to check it out, here’s the link (http://store.steampowered.com/app/104700/)

Pokemon X

The next exciting installment of Pokemon has arrived! You get to explore new worlds and catch even more Pokemon! What are they up to now? 718 or something like that?

This game, I feel, did a great job with the integration of  of the 3D aspect of the game. I wasn’t a big fan of Black and White so I was a little skeptical of this game. But I soon found this game to be fun and “addicting”. I had a super hard time putting it down when I started it up.

The story is pretty much the same. You have to tell the Professor if you’re a boy or a girl. you’d think he’d know by now but that’s ok. Then you are given a starting pokemon with the quest to Catch ’em All! (TM). Seems easy enough? As you leave your home town you meet Pokemon both first gen and even Generation V. I was surprised at the diversity you encountered just in that little section outside of  Vaniville town. Another neat thing they added is as you go through the story and the different towns, you get to pick another Pokemon to join your team. Now, what makes this Pokemon special? It’s one of the first gen starters. I chose Squirtle =3 This is a little weird for me personally because when it comes to the starter Pokemon, I normally choose Fire.

The graphics are spectacular! The 3D element isn’t something that you always have to have on to enjoy the game, but it makes battles seem more “real” in a sense. I like how you can see more of the Pokemon Movement when they are attacking.  For an  example, when I have my Braixen use Ember, she pulled a stick out of her tail and casts flames out of it. I think that’s pretty cool, it gives the battling system a bit more flare instead of watching a cute little sprite move around the screen then stuff happens.  There are also some different times, like when you get a holo cast, you can move your system and it moves the background, like you’re looking around. I think that was pretty cool.

Music and Sounds are pretty up beat too. Like with the other gen games, they kept the original sound they Pokemon had.  The corky little 8bit growls and roars they had even the odd sounds that didn’t sound anything like any living creature. The neat thing that they did add though..is something pretty awesome. Pikachu is avaible to catch in the game when you are walking around, you don’t need anything speical for them. The nifty little thing about them, they don’t have their 8bit sound. They actually say “pikachu” and “pika”  The music is also very beautiful and really helps with setting up not only the towns but the battles too.

There are now fun ways to raise Pokemon stats as well as how much they like you.  There are several mini games you can play with one of your party members, and on if you complete the game or not depends on whether stats raise or stay where they are. You can also feed Pokemon, puffs to make them like you more. But if you’re not into this kind of stuff do it old school style, Breed the best and become the best.

I give the game 8/10 Lily points =3 Pick it up, it’s totally worth it, especially if you are still really into Pokemon!  I enjoyed the time I spent playing it and I haven’t gotten frustrated like I have in some of the other games =D
